  1. Only a delivery inspection in 2016 and an oil service at 57K miles in 2021, done in different places. Thanks. AG Falco
  2. Do you want me to code it for you? With OBDEleven. I charge Beer Money. Thanks AG Falco
  3. Where in Dorset are you? Thanks AG Falco From N Dorset.
  4. A Citigo / UP cabin filter flap/cover looks like this:- The LHS of this photo is towards the front of the car and the RHS is just behind the bottom of the glovebox looking up from the passenger footwell. Note, your car also doesn't have the fresh air / recycle lever like below. Thanks. AG Falco
  5. Did you test the horn when it was off the car? Thanks. AG Falco
  6. Broken coil spring and/or worn top strut mount. Thanks. AG Falco
  7. Don't think they have yet! It's only 19 years NCB in this policy. Thanks. AG Falco
  8. It was to contact their Insurance first........ And then contact my insurance company when it has all been sorted. This might stop my insurance company accidently charging the wrong amount. Which in turn means everybody's insurance goes up. Thanks. AG Falco
  9. OK, so both policies are underwritten by UK Insurance Ltd (same group). Thanks. AG Falco
  10. 1. Know that, thanks. 2. Yes, will declare to all 4 car insurance policies. 3. Churchill and Direct line are the two involved in this. 4. Have no plans to keep anything quite and the repair is NOT being paid for by the third party. Thanks. AG Falco
  11. This is my plan. They can only say no. If I go through their insurance then I don't have to claim my excess off the third party and / or their insurance company afterwards. If I go through my insurance they will look at the claim as a nice cash cow towards the third party's insurance company. So it is in the third party's insurance company's benefit for them to deal direct with me? It is going through insurance. The repair is more than the excess. If I go through my insurance ( for all 4 cars / policies ) then I could / would have 4 potential at fault claims to contend with until it is resolved. The CCTV easily answers the question as to who is to blame. My car was parked / stationery at the time of impact. I keep my cars long term and with the age of my car, ( three weeks old ) I want it repaired so that I keep it covered by the manufactures guarantee. This will mean getting it repaired at an approved repairer. I have already got three quotes from approved repair company's. Thanks. AG Falco
  12. Exactly. Exactly my thoughts as well. Have you got a bus in your front garden? Thanks. AG Falco
  13. No problem informing the insurance company. Just hoping to inform them that the repairs have all been paid for by the third party's insurance, and so this is just a notification to my insurance company. Doesn't help that I have 4 cars and 4 Insurance policies with three different company's. Thanks again. AG Falco
  14. Only if they new what to look / feel for and told you. Had a Mazda in last week where the dealer had fitted a new genuine rear diff ( at vast expense to the customer ) to sort out a noise. No improvement after that but swapping the wheels / tyres did help. Swap them to the rear and if possible swap the fronts diagonally. Don't assume you had only one problem - source of noise. Thanks. AG Falco
  15. Have you checked the fuse? Thanks. AG Falco
  16. Swap the tyres / wheels from side to side, not front to back. Don't do this if you have directional tyres though. Thanks. AG Falco
  17. So if I claim on my insurance the third party will be expected to pay this as well as their excess? Don't think that the third party has contacted their insurance yet. A copy has been stored for any insurance company to see. Damage is just to N-S-F wing so easily repairable. Yes exactly, that is why I am trying to pick the right path. I have 4 cars so don't need a loan car. The money is not my issue. One thing I am trying to avoid if possible is a claim on my insurance. The policy is replace with new for the first two years if that badly damaged. ( it is not ) Don't know how they can do this as the car is no longer sold as production has now been stopped. Thanks in advance again. AG Falco
  18. Yes, details and on CCTV. So if I ask the third party to get their insurance company to contact me directly? Thanks in advance again. AG Falco
  19. Looking for advise on what to do please. 🙂 Not had a claim since the early 90's so a little out of touch. My car was parked in a car park and while I was shopping, it was hit by another car, so I am NOT at fault. The third party had 'forgot' to put their car in gear/put the handbrake on and it rolled back in to mine also with no one in that car as well. This was at 3 weeks old from new with less than 500 miles on the clock. 🤬 If I claim through MY insurance then I will have to pay my excess. But is it true that if I claim direct with the THIRD PARTY's I won't have to pay the excess? Are there any downsides with this? Thanks in advance. AG Falco
  20. Had this dilemma myself. Was thinking about my transport needs for the next 15 years about 6 months ago. As a private car buyer I ended up with an ICE car. When my garage was rebuilt a few years ago I even had an armoured mains electrical cable buried in to the new building big enough for electric car charging. Have no regrets with the new car though. Thanks. AG Falco
  21. It has a service book? I have a Fabia III but with the 1.2 TSI engine. I also have two cars with the 1.0 MPI engine. A Citigo and an UP. One which my Daughter drives. The insurance might be cheaper in the smaller Citigo/UP than the Fabia. The MPI engine is good and willing but not fast. Does she plan to drive a lot on hilly roads? My Fabia III is a lot faster and better on fuel but is in a much higher insurance group. Thanks. AG Falco
  22. But not above and yes this cold week here in the UK. Just the top half for me. Before I did this the temperatures were about 10 C lower still. Thanks. AG Falco
  23. Yes, but it is being economical with the truth. For the last week I have been looking at the engine temperature gauge in the dash. On this car it is digital and only displays in 5 degree C steps. At the same time I have been looking at the engine temperature via the OBD11 App on my mobile phone. The dash temp goes up very quickly to about 80 C and then can drop a little. The OBD11 reading goes up slower and then drops later but by about 30 C. I am guessing this is when the thermostat opens . It then rises again, sometimes reaching the same reading as the dash one. Where as the dash reading hardly changes the OBD11 has much bigger changes which depend on how hard the engine is working. I have also been watching the oil engine temperature. This takes a lot longer to rise, especially during this cold spell. This also changes depending on how hard the engine is working. Spring / Autumn readings are about 10 C higher with summer ones even higher again. This is for both the OBD11 water and oil readings. Meanwhile the dash gauge still shows its usual 90 C. 😮 Thanks. Better than below, but just, and with the plan to change the others soon to match up. But not as good as below:- I have 4 cars and 32 tyres at the minute. One with just Summers on, which is not being used this week for some reason. 😉 2 with All Season on all year round. Vredestein Quatrac 5. 1 with All Season on in the winter but they get swapped for summers about when the clocks change. All cars have a matching full size spare tyre and wheel. All tyres get rotated twice a year, again about when the clocks change. I have run full winters but it doesn't get cold enough down here in the south. The all seasons work very well in the winter. Thanks. AG Falco
  25. If you PM me your VIN I can look it up for you. Thanks. AG Falco
