  1. I believe the UK regulation states that a vehicle must not underread at all, but may overread by a certain maximum percentage - AFAIK, in order to ensure the instrument is compliant to regulations, all manufacturers opt to calibrate the speedo to read high.
  2. If still doubtful, request dealer to carry out a complete coolant change as a condition of sale.
  3. That coolant colour could possibly be a result of system being topped up with G13 - which, IIRC is purple - I believe I have seen references to this colour change before. I believe that G12 & G13 are compatible with each other, so there shouldn't be any issue. From what I see in posted image, coolant doesn't appear to be contaminated.
  4. What engine - TDI or TSI? Get the ECU checked for any recorded faults (DTCs) Check the battery. 'Juddering' could be misfiring - possibly caused by faulty injectors - or failing engine mounts allowing excess engine movement.
  5. Correction - try a search using the term 'error workshop' I'm having a lot of issues at the moment where the page becomes unresponsive when I do a search!
  6. Re. the heating issue, check if the coolant expansion tank is marked 'Mit Silicat' on the side and check the colour of the coolant, there is a possible issue of the Silicate 'Teabag' contained in the E.V. breaking down and releasing granules into the coolant - partially blocking coolant passages, especially in the heater matrix.
  7. Try a search using, I think 'error gearbox' I recall quite a number of posts for it.
  8. Good morning Matt, seems to be a pretty common issue with some DSGs. There are quite a few posts on this issue. AFAIK, the issue is due to a faulty micro-switch on the selector lever, I believe there is a repair kit available and appears to be a relatively easy fix.
  9. Good morning Mark, welcome to the forum. What are the niggly faults you have?
  10. SWMBOs SEL Fabia has similar window setup - AFAIK, there's no convenience opening option.
  11. Assuming the TPMS had not been reset after the overinflated tyre was fitted, that is correct operation.
  12. If not too distant from your home, I'd suggest taking it back to the garage and politely request them to finish the job you paid for. Not sure if service interval reset is same for Mk3 Fabia - but you could try the following - With ignition off, press and hold odo reset button/s (two fingers on Mk3). Switch ignition on but don't start engine while still holding odo reset buttons. NB - edit. Continue to hold Odo reset buttons until 'Reset oil service' message appears, release button then press again to reset. The same process applies to resetting the Inspection interval. Switch ignition off.
  13. Assuming you mean the indirect TPMS system, operating via signals from the ABS sensors, I believe it does - provided there is a mismatch in wheel rotation speeds from when the system is set, the system should flag the change. Typically, my Octavia flags when the difference exceeds approx. 0.4 bar.
  14. Before you ask - the trailer weights should also be on a plate attached to the trailer.
  15. Unless I'm misunderstanding your terminology, it's a little difficult to see how is is possible to physically 'stall' a vehicle that's already in motion (at probably more than 10MPH) - the kinetic energy alone should keep the engine running in gear.
  16. Does it exhibit the same behaviour when engine revved in neutral, then allowed to slow down?
  17. ... But what is the vehicles history? - was the vehicle running, then just shut down? - or was it bought as non-runner, as a project? or was it involved in an accident?
  18. Is the cause of the original failure known - why were modules replaced?
  19. Very likely to be thought a Q car.
  20. According to a number of online resources - and also on this forum - the max. towing weight of a 2018 2.0TDI is 1600kg (braked) - providing your trailer tare weight is no more than 900kg, you will be safe and legal.
  21. I'd think the first step is to plug a reader into the OBD port.
  22. Not sure, but would it not be the case that the ECU shuts everything down if the immobiliser was activated?
  23. Hello, welcome to the forum. Engine start then immediate stop sounds like the immobiliser cutting off.
  24. As mentioned a couple of replies ago, check the permissible towing weight on the B pillar plate.
  25. Hello, welcome to the forum. It sounds as if you enjoy your driving when you're not commuting - provided you're not too heavy with the right foot, and the insurance premium isn't prohibitive, I'd suggest a manual Vrs.
