  1. Important note, leaving the dashcam on can prevent control modules from entering sleep mode when the vehicle attempts to shut down - combined with short trips, this can result in low battery SOC. Does your automatic idle stop operate normally?
  2. Can you post another image with the extraneous bits on a sheet of white paper?
  3. Hello, welcome to the forum. I'd consider a failed oil pump as the first suspect, depending on how long the engine was run after the oil pressure failure indicator lit, it is likely that your engine has suffered significant damage. All vehicle instructions I have seen mandate immediate engine stop and recovery if oil pressure fails. Highly probable that turbo seizure is the result of oil pressure failure - not vice-versa.
  4. Can you post what type of headlight you have fitted? If lamp is faulty, very unlikely to be still under warranty after 3 years.
  5. Be aware that the majority of 'reconditioned' engines being touted will be no such thing - almost invariably pulled out of a wreak, steam-cleaned and plonked on a pallet (pallet optional)
  6. Is the infotainment system in the centre of the dash panel the original, factory-fitted system? I have seen reports from a number of owners who have experienced parasitic battery drain issues when after market systems had been installed.
  7. Could you be more specific - was this a dedicated alternator output test device?
  8. @Cherry_140 Have you succeeded in removing the offending object?
  9. It is likely that your cooling system has an airlock, this may eventually clear by itself, in which case the coolant will require topping up - or it may require to have a recommended bleeding process of the cooling system carried out. NB. this air purging process should have been carried out by the mechanics who replaced the EGR.
  10. Recheck that the alternator (battery) indicator light operates correctly - on with ignition, extinguishes immediately on engine start.
  11. 13.8 volts, dropping to 12.9 volts on load appears to be a reasonable output for the alternator - what indication was given for assuming a charging fault?
  12. Looking at the drawing, it appears to be just a cap, there does not appear to be anything actually on the lower part of the shift tower retained by it.
  13. Does the red alternator charge (battery) light illuminate when the ignition is first switched on - then extinguish as soon as the engine starts?
  14. From the images you posted, you will only need to remove the single remaining bolt to completely remove the cap. Unless there was a spring fitted inside the cap - which doesn't appear to be the case from looking at the schematic drawing, the shift tower may work ok with the cap simply removed. Removing the sheared-off stub will probably require drilling to accept an extractor.
  15. I've had a look at an exploded view of the part online - I'd suggest first trying to realign the end cap to its correct position, then check if the missing gears select correctly - you may need to slightly loosen the single remaining bolt first - looks like a spline type bolt. From the diagram, the bottom section of the shift tower may project down into this endcap, with movement being restricted or pinched by the displacement of the cap.
  16. A belated welcome to the forum. A note that you need to join Freedom to sell on the forum.
  17. And possible restricted choice of insurers and / or increased premiums.
  18. It certainly appears to have allowed the gearbox to dump all its oil. Do you know if the vehicle was driven after the damage - how bad was other damage, if any?
  19. I haven't been able to find a schematic showing what that part is - but I must say it's particularly poorly positioned for possibility of striking against road humps, etc. The only suggestion I can make at the moment is to remove the remaining bolt and see what's beneath it. The sheared-off bolt will almost certainly require drilling and extraction of the remaining stub.
  20. That should be sufficient for ID. calling @ApertureS can you help?
  21. Can you post another image giving a wider view for context? Is this a manual gearbox?
  22. Hello, welcome to the forum. Sorry, can't help identify what that is at moment - but it does appear that the domed part (cover??) has been struck with enough force to actually shear one of the two securing bolts!
  23. Hello, welcome to the forum. Your new independent garage should be able to supply you with a print out - or are you worried that, despite their claim, they aren't actually able to update the DSR ? Unfortunately, simply resetting the service counter does not necessarily prove that the service was actually completed.
  24. It is a legal requirement that the remaining refrigerant must be recovered and disposed of correctly. The new charge then requires to be weighed into the leak-tested and evacuated A/C system.
  25. ... While on the other hand, my Octavia A/C is still working with the original refrigerant charge from 9.5 years ago - There, that's gone and put the kiss of death on it! 🙃
