What have you done to your Superb III today?
The workshop manager finally called me back. He said the camber can't be tuned on my car...🤨 Since I don't like being fooled. I've taken a look to the official Skoda workshop manual. Chapter titled "Running gear, axles, steering", Paragraph "2.4 Nominal valus for axel alignment" on page 233 states: "It is possible to adjust camber by shifting the assembly carrier. Very important: Please note the following: Always replace the screws! After carrying out corrections of steering geometry, inspect position of steering wheel and alter to correct position, if necessary." For DCC equiped Mk3, camber range is -39' +/- 30' I called him back this morning. He said trying to tune the camber by shifting the assembly carrier is effectively a solution. But to him, it's quite risky when there's a small difference between FL and FR wheels (which is my case). Nevertheless he suggested I could swap FL and FR wheels since the FR tyre might be little bit more worn the the FL one dure to roundabouts. Sometimes it solve the problem when a car drags a bit on one side. I'll have a try... Additionally, it could help reducing the little groaning that starts appearing on front axle upon cornering at slow speed. I think sawtooth wear begins on the outer threads of my front tyres...

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Hi, I let my Mk3 at my local dealer last week to have the geometry set after front shock absorbers replacement. I didn’t pay attention to the report when I got it back. But when I read it, I noticed that the camber is out of specified values. 😡 I went to my dealer this morning and showed the report to the workshop manager. He said the camber might be not tunable… WTF !?! As I was skeptical, he said he will check this morning and call me back (he is just back from holidays). Could this be true? TIA.

Fuse help
To have the correct model of fuses allocation, please tell us which engine / gearbox / version your Mk3 has. Indeed a pic of a TDI150 SEL with mechanical gearbox will not help you much if you have a TSI190 DSG7 L&K…

A day @ Le Mans Classic 2023
If you want to see (and hear) more, here is a long (almost 4h) video on YT: Note, you can zap the first 17mn, with incomprehensible green screen... This includes the 20-30ies Bentley race, to better understand my comment about it. 😉 You'll only miss the smells (gasoline, hot oils, heated brakes and clutch, tyres, leather...) which are also part of the experience!

Unknown icon on VC
IT IS ! I don't know in which country @ParkKatt is currently driving. But we do have reduced speed limits in France upon raining conditions. 130 becomes 110km/h on motorways 110 --> 100 km/h 90 --> 80 km/h Any lower (or equal) speed limit than 80 km/h isn't reduced though. As a result, I often have these signs on my dashboard (though not a VC). I think the sign with little dots only appears when my wipers are ON. I should check to confirm this 🤔.

You're right. As I often go a french Audi forum (my wife drives an Audi Q3), I know this Audi rim model quite well. It has never been produced in black color. Additionally one can notice that the guy also painted the Audi center cap, since the OEM part has chromed 4 rings. It's not full black.

They don’t have the same chemical proporties. In addition Acetone and Isoprop are much more volatile than white spirit. They may evaporates before they could really act on the spot… At least, I would give it a try. Otherwise, maybe gasoline or diesel. Indeed the « greasy » aspect of diesel can dissolve spots sometimes… Another efficient product that can be bought at any french drugstore, is « eau écarlate ». Sorry I don’t have the translation. @J.R., can you help me please? I don’t know what could be an equivalent product in UK. 🤔

Timing belt shenanigans
Anyway, coolant pump may get stuck waaayyyyy before suggested mileage for timing belt, leading to timing Belt replacement much earlier than Skoda recommendation. This happened to me at 65000km… 🙄

Timing belt shenanigans
I haven’t heard of any interval shortening for timing Belt replacement in France. For TDIs it is every 210000km.

Retro fitting LED DRL bulbs
What do you actually mean by « brighter » ? Do you look for more powerful DRLs or brighter / whiter color? The bulb type may strongly depend on your answer.

A plain Skoda logo (without any lettering) would be even more symmetrical... 😁

A day @ Le Mans Classic 2023
Hi guys, As said here, I had the chance to replace someone who could not go to Le Mans Classic last week-end. We were there from 10:30 AM to 6:40 PM. 12km walking and roughly 430 pics ! I had the chance to access to paddocks (but not to the pit lane), and sincerely, what a day ! The show was so tremendous, that I can't resist to share you some of my pics. DKW Monza 1957 / 3 cyl 1000cm3 To keep on with German cars: Porsche 904 Porsche 550 being repaired / tuned ? No less than 2 mechanics under the engine / gearbox! Porsche 356 (in concours conditions , all was like brand new!) And this version with a special fairing for Endurance races had nothing to envy the previous one: A 911 2.0 A Porsche 917 driving to the pre-grid, a former Le Mans winner A Mercedes 300SL 1954 with seagull doors , which was a former Le Mans and also Carrera Panamericana racer: Let's have a look to American cars now. One of the numerous Ford GT40: Another one here, close to a recent Ford GT : Two of the numerous AC Cobra too: Some British ones now, starting with one of the many Jaguar E-Type 3,8l which made the trip to this event: Have a look to the rudimentary cabin venting system! Also a fantastic Jaguar D-Type with its shark fin: A small nod to moviegoers by the way: More recent, the Ferrari 2023 edition winner, with its multitude of carbon appendages After race cars, some 'normal' cars: Among them, this amazing and very worked Delage The Mc Laren corner (I wasn't able to count all the £Millions lined up ) !!! Among them, this Mc Laren F1 GTR whose cockpit has nothing to envy the aircraft industry (especially with all its connectors): Some French ones anyway: R8 Gordini or Alpine Berlinette (with their descendants, contemporary A110s in the background) One of the 8-10 Pantera De Tomaso in the event: A quick look on the pre-grid for the 20s-30s category race, which was almost a one-type race and even a one-brand race, so numerous were the Bentleys! This one in the background had a very thin worked radiator cap, but I wasn't able to define what it represented for sure (a contortionist?). I didn't have the opportunity to see other races but these Bentley drivers were not playing at all, they were real competitors "with a knife between teeth" (suction, intimidation to overtake in the curve interior in the braking zones. Fantastic show!) On one hand astounding to see the 'fights' given the price of these cars (we said to ourselves: How sick they are, did they forget the price of these cars ?) and on the other hand, so exciting to see how they simply make them "live" by driving them the way they should be ! Thinking about it, I wonder whether I finally prefer to see them like that, rather than in a museum remaining parked ... Some Porsche 911 from all generations as far as eye can see! A 1974 BMW 3,0 CSL which raced at Le Mans : A rare BMW Z8 and another magnificent 3,0 CSL in the background: A Maserati Sebring (escorted by 2 Ghibli) absolutely splendid in concours condition. Really stunning, including the dashboard and the interior. One can also notice this 3200 GT in the background with its beautiful "boomerang"-like rear lights, which had to be quickly replaced by much more common rear lights to meet approval requirements of the US authorities... The sacred beast: Aston Martin DB5! Needless to say it's ultra classy! I'm really a big fan More exotic, there was a "Hot rods" corner. This one was probably the most exuberant: At least, you can't miss the gas pedal ! A rare Chevrolet Corvette C2 in split Window version (only on MY 1964!) An equally rare Chevrolet Corvette C1 '61, which had something really special: a Corvette C2 back end! I really thank the owner, who kindly hold the bonnet when he saw that I was taking a picture of the engine. Happiness of being among enthusiasts, glad to share ! A Jaguar E-Type coupé, with convertible roof. An option I had never seen. Fantastic! A Facel Vega HK500, also in concours condition. A french car, which had nothing to envy its contemporary Italian or British cars. Too bad, the brand did not survive... Fortunately, this British owner keeps it in amazing conditions. Sorry I can't share all my pics, but you have here a nice panel !

Skoda Sport 1949 @ Le Mans Classic
Hi, I had the chance to replace someone who could not go to Le Mans Classic last week-end. I saw the first Skoda Sport (1,2l engine) I had ever seen. It was a MY 1949 : Really amazed by the very simple design of the cooling system : Tank, straight brass/copper (?) pipes, radiator (+ fan), that's it !

What have you done to your Superb III today?
TV images are showed in loop and frighten many people. It's now almost "as before". The most nerving is that these guys don't have an ounce of brain. They've wrecked some schools or libraries, and sometimes burnt their own neighbors' car. Pure free ans blind violence... 🙄 They don't even realize, they're punishing their own friends, families, relatives, etc. who now don't have school or library anymore. It will take months / years to rebuild them. Some neighbors or relatives won't be able to go to work and may lose their job, now they've lost their car... 😬

*Sigh* pushed-in front parking sensors...
Hi, Is it on front or rear bumper? If on rear bumper, you can push them out from the inner side of the bumper, if you lay on the floor under the car. It requires quite thin hands, but it's feasible without any disassembly. If on the front bumper, it may be more tricky and probably requires partial disassembly of the font bumper (never done it myself, just guessing). May be feasible if you lay under the car and remove the acoustic panel under the engine bay, but never tried either.

Petrol lid does not open
An issue on several VAG model. Have a look to the manual, I think there is a back-up procedure to open it. Normally a kind of cable to pull from the inside of the boot.
