Delivery Delays
maybe your order is likely to be cancelled because it's no longer in production ie because of newer model, i would think the last thing manufacturers would do is cancel an order as it costs them £££, there more likely to string you along, with false promises until they finely get round to delivering your order. if your in no hurry best to hang in there, as cancelling = the need to look elsewhere and back to the end of the Q

Delivery Delays
might even be a 72 plate the way things are going, that'll be worth even more than a 22 reg 😀 look on the bright side though, skoda are concentrating on finishing cars partially built , if your cars already built, it's likely gonna be with you shortly, anyone ordering right now will be at the back of the Q and is in for a long wait 😂

Is my DPF regen too often?
i've found that once the engine is up to temperature, a regen at idle is quicker than a regen while driving, this is with monitoring with vag dpf app over 14,000 miles from new and virtually all town driving. This is obviously the opposite to what ever one thinks, ie you must drive the car at over 2000 revs on an extended motorway run etc l've thought about why idle is quicker and i think when driving at speed the airflow through the front grill cools the engine, so maybe this is the reason Also mine is a 2019 euro 6 engine, i've heard that manufacturers have learnt from there past mistakes and dpf are now fitted closer to the engine to retain heat better have you watched regens on both euro 5 and euro 6 engines ?, maybe there is a difference

Delivery times?
Before i signed for the car, i asked the salesman if there was any price increases while i'm waiting for the car, would i still get the car at the price i signed for, and he said i would get the car at the price agreed However, when you read the contract terms, it says differently ie they will give you notice of price increase and you have the option of cancelling or if you still want the car you need to pay the extra. not sure if they will do this though

Was there a (mini) facelift this year?
In the UK the superb prices increased a good bit 2 years or so ago when the facelift came out but shortly after the price increases, discounts from brokers increased from around 13% up to 23%. So it wasn't really a price increase, maybe skoda realised they had over priced the cars , who knows, but bmw being doing this sort of thing for years ie list price of £60k but no one is actually paying £60k as cars can be had for around £40k. It makes buyers feel like they have got a great deal when in reality they have just payed what the price should have been. Yes octavia prices haven't increased as much as the superb but discounts are less , no brokers will give you 23% of the octavia list price.

Delivery times?
it's bad enough having to wait longer for a car than you where orginally told, but i've read the terms/conditions on the paperwork after paying my deposit, and it says, if there are any price increases by skoda while your waiting for delivery, they will give you 2 or 3 weeks notice [ cant remember the exact number of days ] you will then have the option to cancel or pay up if you still want the car. The longer you have to wait, the more likely that prices will increase , so you could wait say 9 months only to be told prices are going up £2k so take it or leave it 😂

Delivery Delays
with the worldwide shortages, i think skoda are being over optimistic with there delivery times, although i did hear that the factory has now re-opened again but i doubt they will be working at full capacity
-
Delivery Delays
i ordered 12th october , was told 30 weeks, the factory was still open when i ordered, so you would expect to have to wait longer now, carwow now saying about 8 months, might be about right but you never know, skoda might get a big delivery of chips and things will speed up 😎, 1st of march would do for me 😎

Delivery Delays
4 months is quicker than most, petrol , diesel or iv ? standard spec or loaded with options ? just wondering if you get your car quicker if you dont spec any options around 7 months seems to be the norm, although cars being delivered just now would obviously have been ordered 7 months or so ago . anyone ordering right now might have to wait a bit longer with the factory all but closed

Build Data Codes?
no real need to strip them , just remove a wheel and measure existing pads then take a photo with your phone, go to parts place and get them to open the box to have a look before paying for new pads. you may even be able to measure and take a photo without taking a wheel off.

Best way to "buy" an electric car?
i think the tesla 3 should be compared with the octavia which is slightly cheaper new than the superb, plus i'd be diy servicing, so only have the cost of materials plus £42k outlay v say £24k is a lot of ££££ difference most people wont have that sort of money or be willing to part with that much
-
Best way to "buy" an electric car?
it's only really the fuel costs that are cheaper with your 2 examples though, and remember for a fair comparison, we need to compare like for like cars ie small diesel car v small electric car . l've mentioned a superb which is not really like for like, even if it costs slightly more over 3 years, you need to consider space, comfort etc also the free charging will soon be a thing of the past and leccy prices gonna be rising sharply looks good that vivaro estate, but it's only really a vivaro van with windaes and a few extra seats 😀
-
Best way to "buy" an electric car?
£63 per week = £3276 per year, over 4 years = £13104 decent spec superb with all the space and comfort ie 2.0 tdi SE L trim through a broker = £26k and after 4 years car should be worth at least half the £26k ie £13k and if car values stay as high as they are at the moment , it may be worth even more. however you could keep the car for 10 years + and cost per year comes down every year. fuel costs will be be more for the diesel superb v electric but it's a small price to pay for the comfort and space 😀 at the moment there's no electric cars the size of a superb for £26k, so for me diesel is still the way to go a smaller skoda model is gonna be even cheaper if space/ comfort is not a concern

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Got a new badge for the bonnet, only problem is I don't have a car to put it on yet 😐 gonna debadge the back as well, don't like them letters on the boot.

Delivery times?
2nd hand prices are high at the moment because punters are willing to pay it and thats mainly because theres a long wait for new stuff. if a new car was available from stock for immediate delivery at the same price as a 1 year old car, theres no way dealers would sell that year old car. when things get back to normal, dealers will probably still try it on with the high 2nd hand car prices but if punters dont bite, they'll need to reduce prices. then again, new prices will probably rise [ like everything else is at the moment] so maybe high 2nd hand prices will be the new norm 😂

Dashcam Cable
i believe the connection on the mirror is a ignition live not a permanent live, so no power to dash cam overnight you can change the battery if it's a nextbase you have, batteries available on ebay and some are an upgrade from the original battery ie should last a bit longer
-
Delivery times?
yea, 2nd hand car prices are crazy at the moment, you wonder how it's gonna end, rapid price falls or is this gonna be the new norm. i've ordered a new superb sportline , with discount £29k, dealers are selling 1 year old cars with around 8k miles on the clock for £32k, crazy times i think when new stuff starts to become available though , 2nd hand prices will fall sharply
-
Delivery times?
did you get any discount off the list price though ? i'd take a guess that theres no way they'd give anything off when stock cars are as rare as hens teeth. if you can wait for a factory order and order through a broker, it's possible to get £8k off list
