Bilstein B6 DCC shock absorbers available at last
How are you finding the new B4 DCC shocks? Are they 'slightly' firmer in each mode?

Air Quality Sensor
Interesting as my 66 reg had this as an error a while ago. Not happened since clearing error codes. Will see if I can see it now there's a clue, thanks to @tmg and @UndertheRadar

280 SL Exec - Purchase advice
Check the handke to drop the seats and the air vent controls for the rear passengers. Easily kicked and broken. Haldex and DSG services as mentioned above. Check tyre wear is even. See if the DSG lever has been changed as its a part thats been known to fail. Its a ling read but the 280 thread is great. May even find your car's original purchase. ( i did). If driving find some speed bumps and listen for noise. Absolutely great cars. Great engine. Great space and invisible to most. (If yiu can bear to leave the exhaust tips sooty for extra stealth - i can't)

6 speed auto or 7 speed info?
Agree entirely. All my driving is urban city now, auto just makes it eeeeasyyy. Plus the step off and lack of delay / drama / hands off while getting into 2nd makes merging into roundabout gaps a doddle. They're not perfect. But there is always the manual mode when you REALLY want to stay in 3rd on a motorway roundabout.

Workshop error leave in position P gear selector
if recently out of warranty ask about goodwill. Going rate seems to be you pay 50% labour and skida has paid parts and other 50%. They can only say 'no'.

Trolley jack and axle stand location
Unless the puck / groove depth is exactly the height of the narrow sill part all the weight is still being put into the bottom part of that narrow sill part. Ie no point to the puck other than not scratching paint? The thicker sill at the jacking points prevents the collapse. The scissor jack has the groove so Joe public gas a greater chance of lifting via the structural bit ( i beleve!) I use my trolley jack directly on those points. No issues. Didnt know about the axle stand points though.

Silikat bag in coolant resorvoir (diesel engines)

Road noise in cabin
You're not alone as the number of 'how to sound insulate your superb' posts there are. You get used to it and the lack of complaints from my kids on long journeys makea me think it's more a tone than volume issue. I did spend my first month checking the rear windows hadn't been accidentally cracked open. I put some matting in the spare wheel well/ boot but no real difference.

Great pictures. Was the oil visibly discoloured or still 'golden' and did you change / have spare the O rings? I suppose once youve done it once you know what and where you are going..

The 280PS Thread
8 miles each way in urban city 22 to 39 mins. Lockdown has meant journeys are quite smooth, couple of traffic light sets and a few rolling entry roundabouts gives around 26 average, up to just on 30 on good days, 24 if there's more stop / start. The average can be up to 28 within 10 mins. The days you dont care are the most fun though.

SE variant DSG doesnt have Drive mode selection, so no option to select "ECO" or allow Coasting?
Anyone else remember "gears to go, brakes to slow" Re eco mode, you travel much further before a natural stop, so spend more time off throttle. In D mode lifting off at the same point would mean reapplying some gas to get to the junction. Hence more fuel. Like others i tried and didn't like feeling 'disconnected' plus ended up kissing the brakes more without really slowing down much. The engagement takes some getting used to.

Water in spare wheel well.
Pull the lamp unit trim piece/ cover above the bump stop thingy and see what's going on. It just clips out.

Recirculation mode still gets outside odour
Is there a diagram anywhere of where the air qualuty sensor is? ( even what it looks like) Mine's giving an intermittent error code.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Winter wheels and tyres put back on at the weekend. Vindicated by a very heavy frost on Sunday night. Already up 2mpg presumably as they are narrower despite being 'softer'. Last petrol car I got 30mpg+ on a trip home from work was a '88 1.4 Citroen BX with 88bhp (ish) . That's progress. ( Don't worry I'll cane it tomorrow)

The next Superb ... there will be one
Silent suspension. Exhaust farts in sport mode and silent wafting at all other times. The return of exhaust valves. Just because! Similar to @SkudMissile21 in other respects.

Superb Sportline - standard spec vs options
As above really. Watch out as front sensors were an option below L&k on earlier models. It is a big car but front end is similar to golf/ octavia as they share the same pkatform. The back of the car is however a very long way away. Rear sensors work fine even without a camera. My must haves were heated seats and a heated screen having come from a mondeo with them. Engine was non negotiable 😁. (280). I waited and got a young high miler in the right colour with the toys i needed. Love it still after 2 years.

Windscreen wiper behaviour
Hi Shugmo. My MY17 superb does exactly that. Other skoda's auto park. Skoda tech told me it was deliberate so snow would not build up stopping them 'rising' if the screen is covered in snow. He could not explain why the courtesy car i had didnt do it, or any audi, ford etc. It is a setting that can be changed via coding. Along the lines of 'park when ignition off' change inactive to active. For ignition the wordibg used is terminal 15. It was in an octavia vcds thread and you can see the setting (in the tear wipe section) in the superb vcds thread.

Yes. Does look stunning. Takes it out of 'sleeper' for me though. Primera, forgotten about them, I was thinking TVR. Either way i imagine wrap will be cheaper to redo than the paint on either.

What to look out for on a used 2016 206TSI?
Rear vents. If you have all the bits ( some will be inside the vent) and the patience if a saint and very steady hands, then yes fixable. ( I have all but the steady hands and managed) Various guides on this site that show how to get the main unit out. Good luck.

Error service: leave vehicle only when selector in position p
As above! 3 months out of warranty. SUK paid part and half of labour

What to look out for on a used 2016 206TSI?
Check the air vent handles are actually connected to the air vent vanes. They can be a bit delicate. ( esp ones blowing rear passengers, just the right height to be kicked by kids) Ski hatch handle is also fragile for some. Start stop button can be temperamental. Check the torch is in the rear and if its importsnt to you the skoda brolly(s?) Are in the door cubby hole. Check for noise on auto boot struts. Check the 'mouse' wheel on the steering wheel works ok.(press it in the select) Had mine since Jan 2019 ( nov'16 build) and still love it. Hope its mint for you.
