  1. Leave the battery in place. With the ctek you’ll get an M6 eyelet quick charge, put one of the terminals on the positive and the other on the chassis in the post below The rear discs being crap is very common, caliper failure not so much and will be fairly pricey I imagine. Get that sorted and the compartment under the seat sorted and hopefully you’ll start to like the car. It’s always horrible getting a car when your gut is saying don’t, but hopefully that’s the only issues you’ll have with it
  2. It’s only nagware so nothing drastic will happen. Mine recently popped up and I reset oil and inspection myself as I’ll be doing it myself in summer time
  3. It’ll be far and I mean far cheaper to rip the cds to mp3, upload to your phone and play via Bluetooth. It’ll be time consuming and may need to buy a usb drive if you use a modern laptop and doesn’t come with a drive. Bonus is you’ll have a digital back up too
  4. Mines a 2016 with around 43k miles and had it since 2019. There was a similar thread by someone else and can’t remember the year but it has a euro6e or something like that with even more governance and doing short trips more likely to upset DPF but 30mins like you do will be fine I’m sure
  5. I do circa £3k a year in my 2016 diesel 190, been absolutely fine except for a/c pipe on the joint “failed” and £1k later and hospital trip it’s all sorted now, and Škoda gave me £200 as goodwill on a non warrantied car so can’t complain too much more Other than that no problems. As you’re undecided which has the best bodywork and colour, cheapest tax and cheapest to insure?
  6. That does seem premature, how many miles has it got? Hopefully they’re just hunting for work
  7. Ah having fog lights on unnecessarily is illegal in UK (never bloody enforced though!)
  8. It’s only that it does it as standard with the halogens, dim might not the correct word but as you know when it turns on it’s gracefully rather than instant on, same with when it goes off it dims nicely until it’s off. So I’d like to keep it doing the dimming rather than instant on/off as I can imagine that’ll be annoying to me and other people on the road
  9. See if you can test drive another car, might just be a characteristic that you’ve picked up on but is totally normal to others
  10. Yeah I might just end up sticking with halogen tbh but do as you did and get whiter. i’m surprised more people haven’t tried changing to led
  11. Hmm from what I can see there’s two types of extended warranty, all component and named component Which one do you have?
  12. I saw that but quite old now but he said on there it doesn’t dim, but wasn’t sure if things have changed
  13. I’ve got a 2016 sel and has halogen fog flights and was thinking of upgrading these to LED but would I lose the dimming cabaility? If anyone has done this and it works can you tell me which bulbs you got? LED should still dim just like the interior lights but I’m sure i read somewhere it might be lost
  14. Not sure on location but 100% not lithium as that eats into rubber, silicone grease is what you need
  15. Nice and easy then Must admit mines growing a field of moss by my windows so I probably need to keep an eye on it
  16. Had it MOT'd, passed with a clean bill of health. I've been naughty since the last test and today as i've done 3,264miles. Previous MOT the mileage gap was exactly 3000miles
  17. Not automatically at least not on my 2016, have to turn it on/off every March and October
  18. How old is the car and is the battery original? Depending on age it might be worth changing the battery as it seems to cause all sorts of issues
  19. Is that a section broken off? 😮 You didn’t attempt the Dakar rally did you?
  20. Ah I’m all good then, guess they’ve been scrimping on parts and tried to save money
  21. Ah I think I’ve found the recall, for DSG. Gov website says mine isn’t affected for 2016 tdi. Normally vosa website lists the vin number range but doesn’t anymore hmm
  22. If you google the issue your having but use vw instead of Skoda, it seems there was a recall or software update required. I haven’t got SOS on mine so only briefly looked but might be better than a whole new module if it’s not actually required
  23. You bought the wrong car and at least 4 cylinders too little.
