  1. A lot of people say differently so time will tell quite literally I can’t find anything official about burn in tines, so could be just people’s eyes adjust 😁
  2. If you cancel your tyres check out Goodyear Assymetric 6’s, lovely and quiet and grippy as hell
  3. I tried a 6mm and that was too big, 5.5mm too small hmm
  4. Car was unloaded and flat as could get it on my drive. I must admit I didn’t do any measurements as it just didn’t make sense to me, so one turn and I noticed the beam on the garage go up 2cm or so. Shouldnt be an issue blinding people because it was so darn low anyway. One thing I’ve never noticed on my car is the beam changing shape depending on what speed I go, I can see the left/right swivel but that all. I suppose with street lights it’s hard to tell anyway
  5. I’m hoping it’ll be better the more I use them, but no way are they brighter yet, but I was expecting to see more straight away
  6. Also I just adjusted my headlights 1 full turn and seems a bit better Note to self and for anyone else Turn screw ANTICLOCKWISE to HIGHER Turn screw CLOCKWISE to LOWER Weird that clockwise isn’t higher but there you go 😩 What I done to mark it’s original position was mark it with a gold permanent pen, on the black plastic and on the screw itself (btw what size is the screw nothing would fit so used a philips screwdriver which wasn’t great) If I find it’s too high I can turn it clockwise half a turn, then if it fails MOT turn it another 180degrees clockwise to original value
  7. I reckon yours will need new bulbs and aim adjusted too. I’ll see if I can remember to take some pictures in a few months time after 10-20hours, I rarely do much driving as it is especially nighttime. Saying that I am doing a 4 hour drive each way soon, in the day but I might just set my lights to be on to help burn in
  8. Wheels off and arch liners out 100%, check the “what have you done to your superb today thread” I’ve updated recently with my fun at changing the bulbs. Does your car have SLA headlights? If so it should be a breeze with anti clockwise release, clockwise lock. If not be prepared for hell…
  9. I got them from Amazon and verified them £144 for two bulbs the price has already gone up since a few days ago. The one Graham posted is D4S but ours is D3S https://www.amazon.co.uk/OSRAM-BREAKER-Generation-brightness-66340XNN-HCB/dp/B0BBN98YTY?th=1 So the results are in, and i'm underwhelmed! but I was expecting it because it needs to burn in but here's a before and after OLD NEW Same camera, but the top picture almost looks like LED's which it didn't look that white and annoyingly some plonker has parked their van there ruining my pictures as the other vans always park in the same spot 🤣 Tomorrow i'm hoping to do half a turn adjustment on each headlight as it's still far too bloody low, i'll do it without maths and hopefully it wont blind people, if it does i'll turn it back a quarter turn and see how it goes. What I plan on doing is getting a marker so I can draw a line at the top of the screw and on the screw itself, that way I have a reference point as to where current settings are and can easily go back. I just need to find something thin and permenant, something like a yellow pen will do as long as it's visible on white and black plastic
  10. So another update, just took the drivers side arch off as nice weather and felt sick to know that the silly prongs are still on the right side of the bulb and not the left and the clips were even more inside the housing than the passenger side (I'm in UK) but i've managed to get them done, turned on the lights and they're working phew! Tonight i'll go for a drive to see what they're like and i'll take the obligatory pictures. I do have some from the other night, so i'll take some tonight using the same phone and same location (it's not a pitch black road and has street lights but best test for me) Question anyone else who has changed the Xenons bulbs, non SLA with the two metal prongs, did you struggle? I'm wondering because i'm left handed my brain physically couldn't understand the clips, like I know top clip is down, forward and a bit and up, bottom clip is up, forward a bit then down, but I still struggled. Wondering if people who are right handed it just makes sense and works and for left handed people tough, either that or i'm a bit thick haha P.S The pictures tonight will be previous bulb from I believe factory 2016 and approx 44k miles, compared to brand new Osram Night Breaker Laser Next Gens at 0 hours old. I might be able to put about an hour on before I take pictures of the new bulbs, but I do know these Xenons can take like 20hours to fully bed in and only get brighter & whiter, so i'm guessing I'm going to feel a little underwhelmed to start with
  11. It is silly, like even something as simple as an access panel for the lights would help, VW and Audi have these but clearly beyond the minds at Skoda. I'm not sure who benefits when they make things awkward these days, is it really the dealers? Yes they get more money to change simple things, but it also takes so long they could have more people coming in at a time. Once this is all done, I'm just hoping A it works still and B it's been worth it. From what I've heard & seen the latter should be true
  12. So an update on my lights... Removed the wheel arch liner on passenger side (UK), got to the old bulb oit, then couldn't get the STUPID metal clip things to lock on the new bulb, I don't have SLA which is simple anti clockwise to unlock and clockwise to lock. So I put aside my new bulb and used my old one to get hang of getting the clips to lock, nope nada couldn't get it to lock, it then decided to hammer it down which got me in a mood, then it stopped so went again and still couldn't get it to lock, it then decided to hammer it down but I was in full Hulk mode and carried on, eventually got it to lock by doing bottom metal clip first then top. Then it decided to rain even harder and I left it at that. Today I tackled it again and got my new bulb in as I kind of got the hang of it, and put the wheel arch liner back, so passenger side is done. Now just hoping the weekend is good, so I can do the drivers side. It really is not an easy task especially due to not having SLA version headlights. On another note I asked about foam insulation on wheel arch liner a while back. My 2016 SEL does NOT have these. I rang Skoda only to hear that they'd be on back order and not in factory so would basically have to be made, but I'll do that next year when the weather is a little bit more predicable, even though it is UK
  13. The aim from factory is rubbish as well, if the throw doesn’t improve after new bulbs i’ll manually adjust them in small amounts to bring the aim up higher. There is some maths involve but don’t believe it’s beeb explained in really really simple turns, so i’ll wing it My car is 2016 and still on original so I suspect yours will be too
  14. Technically not done anything to my car yet, but ordered some Osram Night Breakers Lasers NG, completely fed up with the **** poor standard xenons, hopefully get to fit them this sunday after doing open heart surgery just to get to the bulbs...
  15. Hmm not what I was expecting, looks just like another facelift of the mk3 facelift from the outside
  16. It’s not that big at 950l but I used the wrong wording when I meant big, I mean like the karoq kamiq xc40 etc, they’re big and bulky but don’t offer more space than say a Octavia or superb
  17. These big SUVs are smaller inside cabin and boot space, it is indeed odd why folk are buying them. I think SUVs becoming more common because no one can really make a decent range normal looking electric cars, all bloody gurt things
  18. It’s an optional extra, ive also got a SEL from 2016 but no heated washers, guess that was an option too 🤣. Previous person did spec rear heated seats though so i’ll let them off scrimping on the heated washers
  19. Oh, the quick connect do you know if it’s M6 or M8? I’m going to get a ctek charger soon
  20. I find the window switches are the cheapest feeling and sounding thing on the superb so wouldn’t be surprised if more start failing soon
  21. Take the spare wheel out im sure I’ve read that could be wet and boot seal failed or leak in rear washer system
  22. Is it bad that I want the camo livery? 😀
  23. I suspect they might be the go-to car by all traffic police soon as BMW have stopped making cars for the police, so the police swapped to Volvo then recently Volvo said they will stop selling the V90, so back to Skoda Superbs I suspect. I hope so because when people see my car they slow down, check me out then boot it again 🤣
  24. I saw a few articles on BBC recently and noticed on a few pictures the Superb has massive bezels as such and then found out it’s the armoured ones. It looked pretty common for Ireland police cars, glad I don’t live there 🤣 Looks like Skoda didn’t bother to make them armoured for the facelift version either, guess the mk4 will be available though
  25. Deffo not, just like if you see a used car and in the boot is some Redex walk away
