    Possibly, if it's like Mk1 stereos then you should have a code number in your service book IIRC. This is where my knowledge of MkIIs begins to run out a bit. Edit: see below:

    Have you got another HU you can test with the existing speakers? You could have a dud internal component of some sort, like an amplification chip. I'm just going off the little knowledge I have of 1990s Hi-Fi equipment

    But not surprising in my opinion and/or experience (delete as you feel appropriate). Clearly didn't want to have to do anything about it even if they knew of the fault.

    Lovely photographs. I was last down at the Maidens shore with my friends not long after I passed my driving test. Might just be the screen on my laptop, but there's a certain graininess to those photos that reminds me of 35mm film.

    Morrisons do their "Super Fuel" which is 97 RON, their Ayr garage does it on the two pumps closest to the air pumps.

    Was it a Mk1 vRS or Mk2 vRS? I'm asking because the Mk1 was basically just a handful of CC's short of being a 2 litre.

    The accuracy of those readouts is highly questioned. Some people were reporting figures like 80mpg on a Fabia vRS when they were seeing 65mpg via "proper" (for lack of a better term) calculations.

    Nope. I just drive the car and add petrol as and when required.
