You wouldn’t be able to switch a relay as it would only be 1v or a little more. You would have to go through a transistor then through a relay to either a 12v lamp unit or make your own led board and have it’s own voltage regulator and such. And you’ll have to crack open a very tightly sealed expensive unit and that would be a fairly risky thing to do in my opinion.

Pressure washer is perfectly fine, its all to do with not forcing water into places it shouldnt be. Keep the pressure washer a distance away.

Superb MKIII Turbo Whistle
For everyone above, has anyone looked at the alternator freewheel? This can whine if wearing out. does the sound change when the electrical system is loaded eg, everything turned on.

For 105,000 kilometres I’d say that’s nothing more than normal misting of oil from a few seals and the crank seal. nothing I’d be worried about, looks worse because dirt is stuck to it that Is all

They’re sealed lamp units with no bulbs to change, regarding adding a secondary rear lamp this will be a bit awkward and require a canbus/linbus decoder most likely as the signals sent to the lamp are logic level voltages and not physically switching anything so can’t be used for relays without some kind of interface.

Rear Taillight Not Working
Possibly a faulty rear lamp and faulty sensor. have you by any chance been washing really close to the lamps and sensors with a jet wash of any kind? Just wondering if it’s water ingress? if not, any kind of rear impact damage? if none of the above, most likely coincidence

How long to remove and refit an ABS ECU??
I have to agree with J.R. at this point, if youve already agreed and started the job you cant argue anything now. But that being said it all depends on what exactly they are doing. It depends if the ECU is fresh and requires coding and setting up, if this is the case id add another hours labour for that. The actual fitting of the unit takes 20 minutes or so id say, but accessing it depends whats in the way so physically fitting and removing id give 1.5 hours, bleeding the brakes another hour and an hour for coding so lets 3.5 hours or so but even armed with someone elses timings you cant walk in to a garage and say a man on the internet told me it would take 3.5 hours why have you quoted 5 hours

Well that will be because Qi wireless charging is a maximum of 7.5W whereas wired QC3.0 charges up to 36W. Big difference.

It isn’t a Skoda problem. It’s an inductive charging downside, the quicker it charges the more heat. if I use my home iQ wireless fast charge base the phone gets absolutely roasting hot.

The small panel is held from the backside of it, needs to be removed from the car and taken from the back.

Sportline 280 front brakes
Wouldnt be touching brembo with a barge pole... terrible brakes as their aftermarket friction materials are just made by a company in china that bought the rights to the brand. Regarding failing for brakes, id always be getting a second opinion, its too easy for people to fail a car and expect you to trust them completely when they are in it to make a profit.

Replacement pads….and possibly discs
The only real benefit is youll put the back up of most garages if you try and supply your own parts - many wont even entertain it and others wont warrant the work. On top of that most people that try and save a few pennies by getting their own parts often end up buying the cheapest stuff they see which a lot of the time ends up to be a part that wont fit your car. A lot of me generalising but basically for the average car owner its not a good idea to attempt to supply your own parts for most jobs. My 67 plate superb is on 52k miles and still has more than 50% left on the fronts and 30% on the rears. Mileage and age are not a good indicator, you need to physically inspect them to know for sure. There are 2 variants of brake setups for the front - 272/280bhp brakes and everything else. The difference between the smaller and larger is not massive in terms of size and braking performance can be measured in so many ways there is no yes/no answer- what is your issue with the brakes? Are they vibrating, not stopping as quick as you want them to, squeaking? Upgrading to the larger brakes requires new calipers, carriers, pads, discs and coding in the ABS module.

Any idea what reason the dashboard has to come out? all I can think is gateway module, bcm and seat module... none of which require a dash removal

Inductive charging = Heat Its one of the downsides to wireless charging. I believe if you search around the forum a bit then some people have modified the charging base and cut the contacts for the centre charging coil leaving only the 2 outer ones, this reduces charging rate but reduces the heat output too.

They can’t, you’ll have to make them yourself. not sure if the coding side of it is public knowledge or if a custom canbus setup is needed either.

AC not working
Fully pressurised is an interesting one. Garages are happy to throw gauges on and read a number off... doesnt mean the system has anywhere near the right amount of gas, pressure changes all the time based on lots of factors. The gas is measured in grams, if your car takes lets say 700g, if you were 100g down, the pressure gauges wouldnt look too different, but your AC wouldnt work. Really they need to pull the gas out and measure it with their machine.

The only long coding youll have will be byte 0-2 which will be 03 84 01 - Skoda Superb 03 84 02 - Skoda Superb Kombi The newer superb models wont exist on the older unit as the unit was around before the face lift was even conceived. What is it you're attempting to do?

VCDS options on Superb III
Sounds like a faulty FEC code on the radar as it’s not a standard setup at all. If the fec for front assist has failed or not valid it won’t be active and won’t show up

If yours is being delayed and stopped by a stiff breeze I’d say your struts are failing. Mine has the power to pop your limbs off if you put them in the way. It would definitely smash the rear glass if given the chance

Cam belt or chain?
Another case of dealer doesn’t actually know what they are doing and just reading words off a screen. all the 1.6,1.9,2.0 tdi have a belt, all the 1.0-1.4 petrols have a belt all the larger 1.8-2.0 tsi engines have a chain.
