  1. Exactly this, I had the same issue. Kessy worked perfectly for the first week then I could swear blind nothing changed but it wouldn’t work! it was me with the wrong method
  2. The rear bench needs removing to remove the rear panel piece along with the cushion piece next to the rear seats. the b pillar trim has a hidden screw behind the airbag badge, the front lower kick panel just pops off, then it’s a job of just lifting it all out as one piece
  3. The handle is not just one big sensor you have 2. the unlock sensor is on the inside of the handle as if you were to grab it and your fingers touch it. the lock sensor is on the outside face and can be pressed with your palm/fingers. if you press them both together it assumes you are unlocking
  4. Even if you could remove the tweeter panel to get to the bolts, you still have to get to the wiring which is connected behind the door card. people have their bumpers hit a lot too, should we just fit all bumpers with race style rubber bands too?
  5. I don’t think that anything like this would be covered by the repair and maintenance legislation. It’s not a serviceable item and in general it stays attached, they won’t exactly put the door card on Velcro and the mirror on wing nuts just to speed up the possibility that it may need to come off some time in its life? something like not putting filters in awful places or special tools to change would be covered I’d assume.
  6. Why are you sending your unit across the seas for an issue that is software related and can be sorted by anyone with ODIS who can redo the FeC/SWaP codes for the 5F module.
  7. With all the likes above, would you lot like it if i created a rough how to guide as i went?
  8. It might be cheaper and easier to install. But doesnt have the same integration and I personally wouldnt want that slapped on my dash.
  9. as close to the camera end as possible, so mine is in the A pillar the wires run down.
  10. MIB3 bites again... seems that every other person is having huge issues with it at the moment.
  11. It is a blank piece of plastic. On certain models a camera for high beam assist is there, often called a low line front facing camera. But the round circle above it contains the light sensor and rain sensor. I have a high line camera, heated windscreen and it is much more prone to interference, as long as whatever dash cam you are fitting is a good quality one with a ferite core for the power lead, youll be just fine.
  12. 4x wheel sensors 1x antenna receiver 1x bracket 1x wiring loom/plug/terminals then you need odis or vcp to parametrise it
  13. Another update on the canton retrofit. spent this evening creating all the twisted pairs ready to run the wires. Yes it would of been a million times easier to just run straight wires and the difference in sound quality wouldn’t of been noticeable, but the factory wiring came with twisted pairs for all the speakers, so that is what I’ll be doing. at the same time I’ll be running looms for blind spot assist and direct tpms. May as well with the entire interior stripped out
  14. Glad you updated the thread with what we found. hopefully once all the repairs are done we will be back to a perfect car and you’ll be more than happy with it then! hope the long journey down was worth it to get the car sorted -Elliott
  15. Direct TPMS is not standard equipment in the U.K. market. you won’t be able to read actual pressures, just it can detect a flatter than the rest tyre
  16. Yeah I read the whole thing, hence I said any shadow means you’re even slightly less visible so what’s the harm in the headlights coming on? dont know if I’m the minority here but I’d much rather have my lights on all the time so I’m more visible
  17. They seem to be a much harder material meaning less wear, but also less grip. I bet theyre cracked to **** though, mine are full of cracks
  18. The rubber o ring probably dried out and is causing it to stick, little bit of wd40 will sort it out
  19. I wouldnt say thats stupid. If the car is in a tunnel or shadow its less visible so more light, the better. In a lot of countries in the world its illegal to not have your headlights on in a tunnel/under a bridge
  20. erWin will state the type of service as well as additional items such as DSG Service, Haldex, Spark plugs and cabin filter. They can also add custom notes if need be, for example I done a DSG service + clutch pack recently so updated the online service history to state this.
  21. I completely agree, the P7s on my 220 are shocking. Try to pull out of a junction a bit quick and they just spin. Terrible really
  22. When you say a non bypass tow hitch, are you refering to a full OEM kit that wires into the body control module and such? If so, it is a massive job, and the coding is also a massive job, will need to change adaptations, long coding and know module security codes. All of this can be done with ODIS, but that is dealer software. Second to that, VCDS will do most of it, but you will still need the help of guides and such to know what modules to touch and change. Chances are the OEM trailer module will need a dataset, the only things that can do this are ODIS and VCP.
  23. Looks almost like a clear plastic film, good match
  24. When it does not work, is the boot latch making any kind of noise at all? Or is nothing happening? Really it will need reading for faults to see if there are any stored.
  25. I would definitely call it a golden green
