  1. 205/55/16 7.5j ET45 steel wheel in my estate 2011
  2. Isn’t it called G12+ or G13 now? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/294042077045
  3. Very decent spec also. L&K?
  4. For the spare the steel wheel I have is a 7.5J x16” ET45 with a 205/55/16 tyre. It came with my car. May help your search. I bet a 6.5j will also fit. My mirrors alao fold fold in and out by hand which is nice when you want to just do one temporary.
  5. A brilliant write up. Hopefully useful to people who may want to retro fit.
  6. They will all likely be just as bad given the age of the PD used.
  7. Update, I tried GT85 at the gear lever end and also under the bonnet in various places around the gear box, after removing the air box for access. It would have had chance to get into places as i performed this on Saturday and drove it yesterday. It’s still stiff and not returning to centre. I also realised this would have been like it for ages. As I subconsciously started to drive it like I used to by guiding from 2nd to 3rd. Rather than rely on the lever to do the job of centering the gear stick. I found some info on the web about dismantling the gear box tower where this pivots up and down. It gets gummed up. If this white grease is anything to go by it will go crusty after a while wherever it is. I may just try a lot more oil in that area first. These things are to be expected after 250K I suppose.
  8. Could it be the door wiring loom, broken wires?
  9. Cheers @MicMac what is the best choice for such as task. Despite the likes of WD40 or GT85 shouting about lubrication abilities they tend to dry out after while?
  10. Hi all My 2005 251k 1.9 TDI is suffering through lack of use. I have experienced this issue differently once before when not used for long periods. If used regularly it’s a lot happier. So previously I would miss fifth gear as it would not quite catch on the gear throw. Today took it around the block for its approx 7 day spin(all it gets at the moment). I can not select third it goes into first. The issue today, more of concern is the gear lever is not returning to the centre to catch the 3rd gate properly. Is there any greasing I can do, as I suspect it’s all dried out as you can see in the picture. Interestingly if I move the stick all the way to the right to select 5 but not throw it forwards the lever takes a long time to return to the centre. By long I mean 2-3 seconds to slowly drift back to the centre. In my view this should be an instant return to the centre not the lazy return, it’s doing today all feels very tight rather then wobbly like it should be. Any ideas?
  11. We had the same issue with our 122 1.4 TSI Golf 2008. Only did about 7k a year. Occasionally rattled on cold start. Think the chain issue was the twin charger, more powerful engines, as I also read up at the time. The car was written off so it went to the scrapper with very low miles. Always worried me. No issues faced personally.
  12. Get a Columbus with DAB. The aerial you get a cheap windscreen one off eBay. Is that an option ?
  13. May/June 2019 reckon I easily done over 10k Miles with them not always on though. I found my link to seller on eBay pasted below. Had to replace 1 faulty bulb and they did without question as it failed soon after fitting. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321517034780
  14. I used something like this for my DRL’s. No errors https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/263468706071 lighter and brighter than standard. Would like more light though.
  15. I agree with all 3 normal for me too. You can manually turn on front PDC from the button by the gear stick. You can also drive in sport mode around town. For me it’s the noisy engine vs low rumble of gear/engine. Which is worse/better you decide?
  16. It’s definitely the one in @Gremlin170post. I followed instructions on here to change mine a few years back. Find my old post, plus plenty of others some very good guides on here.
  17. I like absorbs puke 🤮
  18. Wow amazing repair
  19. I forget I also had to have a couple of rear calipers replaced, about 2 years ago now. It’s had several cambelt changes
  20. I thought this was a different thread, given all the responses , time for me to chip in proudly. Owned a 55 Plate 1.9 Elegance hatch, since May 2008, about 3.5 years old. Purchased with about 29k on it from a Main dealer. Now sitting with just over 250k on the clock, SORN on the drive. The Superb needs more use than this to keep going. Had one new SMF clutch. Original turbo. 2 sets of glow plugs. 1 set of rear shocks. One replacement front spring due to a breakage. One front rad. Cupra console bushes upgrade. Nothing more I think other than 10k oil and filter changes and other filters to suit time and distance.
  21. Even if it’s the mechatronics unit of the best box this can be repaired a lot cheaper than 1k. You need to find a DSG specialist.
  22. If you have particularly badly lipped disks and meaty pads they could be sticking badly on the disk lip. I had an issue with mine, once disks and pads changed issue went away. I never had vibration, just a smokey front wheel it stuck on quite bad even after a clean and grease.
  23. You could always try cleaning the caliper pad guides and especially guide pins. Doing back up and see how it goes?
  24. Flat or dying battery can cause gremlins
  25. What may help you is looking for white/pink residue when looking around the radiator and all coolant pipes and joints. Best from underneath and above engine as appropriate.
