Skoda Octavia 3 Owners register
Early or late 2015? Early 2015's have MIB1 infotainments which cannot support Android Auto, later ones have MIB2 system which need a SwAP code to enable AA. Worth getting in touch with @pab567 for more information.

the truth about electric cars
One example, before Copernicus the overwhelming consensus was that the Sun, Moon and planets orbited around the Earth - so consensus is not a good basis on which to completely change any significant factor of society such as our methods of personal transport. Very often history shows that it was the outcasts and pariahs who the long term has proved to be closer to the truth, not saying that's the case here but it's a good reason not to discard the views of the scientific minority.

That graph says nothing about the source of the funding so I don't see how you can use it to support your assertion that the funding is unbiased?

the truth about electric cars
Remember there have been many examples in history where scientists have been accused (wrongly) of being the Luddites. Credibility in scientific reports comes from independence, and there have been so many cases where scientists have failed to get funding for research projects offering an unbiased study into climate change consequences and causes. Why is there such a problem with getting funding for independent reports without a foregone conclusion? Because there is virtually no independent funding available, it all comes from companies, quangos, lobby groups, etc. with a defined agenda who don't want questions raised about the validity of their public statements. That doesn't make me a climate denier or a Luddite, just someone with a scientific background of nearly 3/4 of a century who has read so many reports that have proven to be inaccurate because they started out with a foregone conclusion, that in the fullness of time turned out to be inaccurate or in extreme cases just plain wrong.

Obd2 scanner
They are security measures introduced by VW Gorup in accordance with UNECE regulations. SFD1 locks changes on some electronic modules until an online verified code is received from the VW servers. SFD2 goes further in that changes can only be made when actually online to the VW servers.

Upgrading/swapping radio to support bluetooth?
Sorry no, I've always done it the official way.

Upgrading/swapping radio to support bluetooth?
Only a dealer or independent garage with online access can officially remove Component Protection, but there are also some "hacks" possible.

Octavia 2025 FL - GPS inaccuracy
That's because even when connected to the car by Android Auto the phone map apps such as Maps and Waze still use the phones GPS antenna.

the truth about electric cars
Plus the costs for in-production white goods are scary too - recently my Bosch tumble dryer refused to work showing an error code that required a new control board. Cost? - £350!!! As a retired electronics engineer I asked the repair technician to leave the replaced control board with me so I could investigate. The failed component? - a £0.50 relay...

the truth about electric cars
Electronics might not have macro moving components but to describe them as inert is a total misunderstanding - they generate heat, require mechanical mountings (solder, circuit boards, etc.), need connectors subject to heat and corrosion, etc. Most people cannot repair, or even diagnose, faulty electronics and that will be the cause of most EVs being scrapped even when their mechanical components and bodywork are still in good working order.

Another DPF question - Warning light consistently comes on after hour and half of driving
If the load in the DPF has built up too high then no amount of driving will force a regen, in this case sometimes a regen can be forced with a diagnostic tool but in others a DPF clean (or replacement) is needed. After 150k miles you're past the assumed design life of a DPF, which is around 120k miles, so really all bets are off without the DPF load data from a diagnostic tool such as OBD11 or VCDS.

Another DPF question - Warning light consistently comes on after hour and half of driving
What are the revs at 70mph in top gear? If below 2500rpm then you need to be in a lower gear to force a regen.

Have you done that during your 5 hour drive yesterday?

1.5 TSI misfiring when started from cold
Some petrols do have an EGR valve (my previous Toyota Aygo for example) but others have a form of EGR created by valve overlap timing.
- Amundsen MIB1 can I get apple car play?

1.5 TSI misfiring when started from cold
Correct. On the 1.4/1.5 EA211 there are only direct injectors but the 1.8/2.0 EA888 does have an extra indirect injector so on them an additive MIGHT help.

Navi and Traffic sign reconition malfuntions
On my Mk3 I get a message on the instruments that TSR is currently unavailable, If the map is out-of-date (because the speed limits have changed) then annoyingly TSR will still show the map data in preference to the camera data.

Tested and working coding Octavia mk4
I'm not sure why you made a link between the OBD11 apps and SFD, I didn't. I've made 2 unconnected posts recently on here: 1) Ross-Tech are working with VAG to enable SFD on VCDS 2) OBD11 apps have a history of making changes that have unwanted side effects.

Navi and Traffic sign reconition malfuntions
TSR works using both the camera and the maps, and cross checks between them.

Tested and working coding Octavia mk4
Yes, seriously. If I had £1 for every time an OBD11 app hasn't made the correct changes, then I would have my own private jet (slight exaggeration!). I've seen this on this site and a diagnostic tool website. Why does this happen? Because VAG/Skoda make running changes to their software and the apps don't keep up with those changes. Never ever use the apps - always understand how the system works and make the changes manually.
