I've had rear wipers on every VAG car I've owned since 1999 and only had one failure when water from the washer jet leaked into the motor - this was when the car was 9 years old.

I just use Windows Media Player to rip from CD to HDD and then mp3tag to add album art to every file. Then I just copy the whole artist/album folder structure from HDD to the SD card.

If the battery is the same type (EFB or AGM) and substantially the same Ah capacity then all you need to do is change one digit of the battery serial number in the BMS module.

When you consider that the Octavia IV has been on sale for 4 years, and the facelift version is already available to order, then if true that is outrageous.

If that's a script then it depends if you trust the script. Personally I prefer to make the changes manually. If the battery is the same type and the same Ah capacity then in reality all you need to change is one digit of the serial number.

Looks like a problem with a rear parking sensor, I think you need a fault code scan to identify the details of the problem.

This is exactly how all the music on the SD card I use in my Amundsen MIB2 is formatted.

That's not going to disconnect the module from the CAN bus and it might remove power from other components too so I wouldn't recommend it.

If the alarm has triggered then the alarm will store a fault code which you can read with e.g. VCDS or OBDeleven.

IIRC there are 2 versions of the rear wheel sensors depending on whether the vehicle has park assist. Mechanical malfunction sounds like there could be a problem with the magnetic ring that the wheel speed sensor uses?

If the actuator is sticking and the feedback is saying it's not moving then the ECU could be trying to move it to the desired feedback value by 'bouncing' the voltage up and down?

My 1.8 EA888 Gen3 uses at most 0.5L in the 8,000 miles between annual services, so I would say there's no general problem with the EA888.

Look at the scan for modules that cannot be reached, and unplug the connector on them one at a time doing a new scan after each one. The main culprits being Engine, ABS, AWD and Steering Assist.

Could be one dead module on the Powertrain CAN dragging it down? Maybe worth unplugging one module on that at a time to see if it unfreezes the Powertrain CAN to localise the fault.

Who last worked in that area? - the garage that changed the timing belt. Who should have noticed loose bolts or didn't tighten bolts correctly while working in that area? - the garage that changed the timing belt. As @EnterName says it's very suspicious that they don't want to put it right. I also agree that you should get an expert second opinion and if he/she agrees with us then "have a discussion" with the garage that changed the timing belt. BTW the Skoda UK advice to change the timing belt every 5 years was withdrawn earlier this year - it was totally out of step with the rest of the VAG empire and made no engineering sense.

The latest beta of VCDS can now scan SFD2 modules for fault codes - one 'feature' of SFD2 over SFD is that even scanning for fault codes is locked without a workaround!

Which ECU there are many? Do you specifically mean the engine ECU?

Have you checked whether the fuse for the blower motor is OK?

Hint: Use a meaningful title for your threads not your name! For many years fitting a new battery has required telling the car it has been fitted by recoding the Battery Management System.

Since manuelin is in Ecuador I really doubt that East Yorkshire Retrofits did it!
