@pab567 Is there a fuse on the rear of the MIB glovebox units? There has been a fuse on the previous generations I have dealt with (RNS-E, etc.).

Did he check to see if there is a fuse on the rear of the glovebox unit?

I've got that problem on the left rear seat, on investigating the outer of the bowden cable is no longer clamped in the seat back so I need to work out a way to reclamp it while working in the small space available through the opening in the seat cloth.

Skoda don't publish release notes so there's no official way of knowing what new features and bug fixes are included in any release.

Any receiver that fails due to a jamming signal hasn't been properly designed, but like @TomerB2025 I think it's a manufacturing fault not a design fault.

Often this means the window is so stiff that the motor current reaches the limit and stops, so worth checking that the window is not too tight in the runners.

If the headlamps are that fragile then they haven't been designed to meet the conditions in the real world such as potholes and speed bumps.

At around £100 per dealer diagnostic session, it soon pays for itself. BTW if you have a clone/rip-off copy then don't expect any help either from Ross-Tech or on here - we only support the "real deal".

Has it always done this? On older models there was an isolator in the feed to the rear window heating elements which were also used as one of the radio aerials, this was a known point of failure causing this sort of loss of radio when the rear window heater was on. Does anyone have wiring diagrams for the Octavia 4 and can confirm whether this is also the case?

Owners in the UK have posted here that their 1.5TSI did not have the sound insulation, so maybe it's market related? Neither my 2015 1.4TSI nor my 2016 1.8TSI ha the sound insulation, so I added it to both. My understanding is that it is only fitted when needed to pass the drive-by noise tests.

You defined the sun belt as being 35N to 35S, which doesn't include NZ as its most northerly point is over 40S, plus Australia goes as far south as 44S so it's not entirely within the sun belt.

What do you mean not working? Remote unlock/lock doesn't work? If not KESSY, key turned in ignition doesn't start car? If KESSY, key in car but car doesn't start when pressing start button? BTW I always use a CR2032 from a reputable battery manufacturer like Duracell - the Octavia 3 seems very sensitive to battery condition and even brand new batteries from some manfacturers don't work.

MIB3 in a 2018 model? I don't think so as all Octavia 3's have MIB2 or MIB2.5 systems. Do you have Swing, Bolero, Amudsen or Columbus?

Octavia key fobs are very sensitive to the battery - even some brand new batteries don't work. It seems that time since manufacture and even manufacture are important. I always fit Duracell CR2032 - they do fit despite being 0.7mm thicker than the CR2025 that Skoda fit.

It's nit just about purchase price it's also about running costs, which if an owner cannot charge at home or work means public charging - so something needs to be done to make public charging universal throughout the whole UK (allowing the costs of installation to be offset against business taxes would be helpful), and also to control or limit the cost per kWh of public charging (cutting the VAT rate to 5% or even zero rating would be a good start).
