If you have an Amundsen then it won't as the Amundsen maps MUST be on a genuine Skoda SD card to be recognised.

I think mine is the oldest car on the new estate where I live as it's a 16 reg, seems most people here have a mortgage and a newish car as most are no older than 21 reg.

There are genuine Skoda SD cards available that are 32GB and will hold the latest 2024 maps, I got mine off eBay - but check it really is 32GB (one seller misdescribed as 32GB but was actually 16GB).

What that plate tells you is that 98RON is recommended but if you can't get it then 95RON is OK - check what the plate on your fuel filler flap says.

The key line is that second one, 3335kg in this example, that's the 'gross Train Weight' i.e. maximum weight of vehicle and trailer.

You have to use the one that matches the infotainment system you have as they are not interchangeable.

I've only had one car where a cold air intake made any noticeable difference - that was a Citroen C1/Peugeot 107/Toyota Aygo Mk1 where the air intake was directly above the exhaust manifold and took in heated air, adding a pipe to directly take in cold air from the front grille did make a small (but noticeable) difference in hotter summer weather.

My point is that stating the infotainment version is no help whatsoever in determining the software version of ANY of the very many other modules in the car, so is no help in determining the behaviour of other car systems such as ACC, etc.

Remember that the version being talked about as 1896 or 1900 cannot be taken as being definitive for all the processor modules throughout the vehicle - do a VCDS or OBDeleven scan and you'll see how many different modules running different software there are in an Octavia 4!

My point is that they were VW, SEAT and Audi but not Skoda - Skoda are not seen as desirable by vehicle thieves. And as J.R. points out the immobiliser encryption is much stronger than the DES algorithm and has yet to be broken so any vehicle with the full immobiliser system in place cannot be stolen in the easy way the article suggests. I think the article has an element of journalistic simplification so should be treated with some scepticism. BTW I spent many years working on vehicle electronics for a major automotive consultancy so I'm not ignorant on these issues.

Skodas don't appear in the top 10 of cars that are stolen, so I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

And there is still no proper solution for people living in mobile not spots to have the ability to make emergency calls during a power cut if the power cut is longer than 1 hour (the time the available battery backup option lasts).

Try driving in a circle on full lock left then full lock right to reset the steering angle sensor.

That won't help those of us with older Skoda models that do not support Skoda Connect. For us there is no solution I am aware of since the only way the infotainment systems we have can get traffic data is via RDS/TMC?

I've purchased from Kopacek both in 2016 and 2023, the only issue I've had is that post Brexit they will not ship items that are larger than the Royal Mail limits so I had to cancel my recent order for the power bonnet struts - no refund needed as they contacted me before processing the order.

Sounds very like an ABS wheel sensor to me - all those systems need to know wheel speed so them all appearing together strongly suggests that. I had the same raft of faults on my previous Octavia and the cause was the right rear wheel speed sensor.

That will only happen when/if Governments break the link between oil/gas costs and the prices of electricity to consumers (which is currently artificially high) - and there's no sign of them doing that anytime soon despite the costs of green generating having dropped as volumes increases and technology improves.
