  1. If your profile is correct, and this is a 1.6 Petrol Octavia, then it can't be a DPF issue. DPF is diesel particle filter, so you don't have one. Exhaust light could come on for a variety of faults, only way to know is to scan it and read the fault code. If you can't find a local member with VCDS, most independent garages should have the equipment to read fault codes, much much cheaper than main Skoda dealer prices.
  2. Classic symptom of the thermostat being stuck open allowing the coolant to flow through the radiator before it's even luke warm. First port of call is the small inline thermostat on the oil cooler to the DSG gearbox. They are dead easy to change DIY, should take about 30 minutes.
  3. The "button" is a reminder light if you switch the passenger air bag off with the key switch in the glovebox.
  4. Mine does this on the odd occasion. Usually the mirrors stop folding when holding the lock button. When I unlock it after, all 4 windows drop about 1". Put the ignition on, roll all 4 windows all the way down, then all the way back up to the top. Once at the top, click up once on each window control again. That resets the limits and sorts it out.
  5. These are still turning up. Cheap Elegance here. Shame about the general condition EU56 VZP https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/518162480327205
  6. This video gives you a great overview of how a clutch works. Thi
  7. If there is an increase if revs without the road speed increasing at the same rate, then suddenly the revs dip and match the gearbox/road speed, the clutch is not able to transfer all of the power from the engine into the gearbox. Whether this is because the friction plate is worn, contaminated with gearbox oil or the pressure plate isn't providing enough clamping force I can't tell you. Get yourself over to another independent garage for a second opinion.
  8. That sounds like a slipping clutch. I assume you have a manual gearbox?
  9. The Pd105 doesn't have a DPF in the first place.
  10. Which ever viscosity of oil you choose, make sure it's either 505.01 or 507 rated, otherwise you will end up with camshaft problems.
  11. Unless you have retrofitted direct TPMS, there are no sensors in the wheels. It's all based on the speed readings from the ABS sensors.
  12. Even better than copper slip would be Ceratec. https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/pagid-ceratec-brake-lube-75ml-grease-526770250 https://mintex.com/copper-slip-vs-ceratec/?lang=en-gbr
  13. That wheel is for a mk3 Octavia, which is not compatible. From my limited knowledge on the subject, you need to find a multifunction wheel from a vehicle on the same architecture/platform. MQB parts from the mk3 Octavia aren't compatible with the PQ46 platform of the MK2 Superb. I have seen others fit the wheel with paddles from the MK2 Octavia.
  14. Genuine DSG fluid from Skoda/VW is around £20 a litre. You can get 5L of DSG oil to the same specification from other oil manufacturers for around £40 https://www.amazon.co.uk/febi-bilstein-39071-direct-gearbox/dp/B00FZGK4G4 Looking at the breakdown of the other items, I would say it has been serviced properly at a very reasonably priced garage.
  15. Have a look here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeOoDJuhSx8
  16. It seems that Skoda have stopped doing the flip up rear bases a few years ago. Looks the same on the Superb too. A great shame as it meant you could have a totally flat floor, much more useful when loading long flat pack items etc.
  17. That was on the vrs. The elegance that the OP is looking at will be a PD140 which won't have a dpf.
  18. If it's a PD engine, unless it's a 4x4 then it won't have a DPF fitted.
  19. How did you get on with your warranty claim? Generally 6000k bulbs emit less light than decent 4300k bulbs, and with cheapo bulbs, no 2 bulbs are going to perform the same leaving such a wide variation in quality and brightness etc.
  20. https://www.osram.com/ecat/XENARC ORIGINAL-Xenon headlight lamps-Motorcycle lighting-Automotive/com/en/GPS01_1057127/ZMP_83508/ They should have a 4 year warranty.
  21. Were they genuine bulbs? There are so many fakes that genuine Osram have a serial no you can check on their website. I'm surprised both are failing after such a short amount of time. Osram Classic are not far behind the performance of night breaker, but are cheaper.
  22. One of the main problems with cheap bulbs is how inconsistent they are. You also have to really read thoroughly how they have been tested for brightness etc as a lot of the claims made on the cheaper bulbs are questionable. You may be able to find a cheap pair that are as bright as Nightbreakers, but it's really hard trying to get accurate figures you can really compare against. I spent a while comparing bulbs, but in the end decided that it was worth the extra for a guaranteed decent quality product and bought a set of genuine nightbreakers from Amazon for £90. They were a huge upgrade over the standard bulbs, and well worth the money.
  23. The Polo did have the centre arm rest on some models. When I had my vrs I fitted a set from a Polo Sport and it had the rear arm rest.
  24. For some reason only known to Skoda, the MK2 Octavia Elegance got auto dimming mirror as standard spec. On the MK2 Superb Elegance, it was an £80 option.
  25. That Fabia is a really good find. Every single option by the look of it! They have the wrong dash cup holder though. The one fitted has the straight edge. There was a separate one produced specially to go next to the sat nav. It has the same curve profile as the opposite trim piece, presumably to avoid catching on the slightly larger nav compared with the single din standard
