  1. Does the lane assist have a sensitivity adjustment? tom
  2. There are some battery powered ones around. The difficulty is working out the correct search term(s). Examples are.: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Projector-Atmosphere-Welcome-Projection-Compatible/dp/B092HSFQM1/ref=sr_1_9?dchild=1&keywords=wireless+skoda+puddle+light&qid=1621348057&sr=8-9 A wired one (depends on car year): https://www.amazon.co.uk/AWQC-Projector-Compatible-2009-2015-Warning/dp/B092LM6926/ref=pd_rhf_se_p_img_3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=J9N7BN95J1QS5EDB5W8H Keep searching. tpm
  3. Take the advice of the experts. Think about it, if you are in a skid situation accident and are found to have your new tyres at the front and worn tyres at the rear contrary to industry advice. will the courts or police take your opinion over the trade view. tom

This is not a fuel consumption question. I don't think it's using more fuel, after all the car is on a closed throttle when the revs rise. Please don't extend the question into a fuel consumption one. This has been well discussed in other threads and opinions differ and I can't see how any further discussion on the merits of different drive modes would achieve anything. It is a question regarding the car engaging a gear whilst coasting thus slowing the car down on a closed throttle with no input from the driver. The revs rise because of actions by the gearbox not because the throttle being opened. I am interested as to whether others have noticed it. Anyone know what the parameters are for it to happen? tom

I often use the car in Eco Mode and have got quite used to the coasting feature. On one particular road when coasting downhill if the car speeds up too much the gear cuts back in to slow it down with no input from me. The revs rise from tickover to the engine revs commensurate with the gear the car is in. Anyone else noticed this feature? tom

Set up a "watch" on eBay. Even if you just buy the wheel you can then buy the polystyrene pieces from a dealer. This is what I did for my Yeti. tom
  7. Make a video? tom
  8. I seem to remember a rubber lubricant mention in the Yeti forum some years ago. Do a search for Gummi Pflege. Not used it myself. tom
  9. Is that some sort of oil leak showing or just a trick of the light? If an oil leak then the dealer should be the first port of call. tom
  10. I drive my DSG mainly in 'D' or 'E'. The only time I have used the paddles was to drop a couple of gears to prepare for a quick overtake on a country road. It feels like you save half a second compared to using the kickdown. tom
  11. Must admit I miss the 6 CD player I had in my Yeti. Although I have stuff on a USB stick it's not the same as putting the latest disc into the car player. My old iMac just crashed so now I have no means of copying from a CD to a USB stick. tom
  12. My understanding is that GPS doesn't use up your data allowance. I have a Zumo 550 satnav on my motorbike and no SIM card and used it for 10 years in my non satnav Yeti without any problems. For most of that time my phone was definitely not smart. tom
  13. The "trip" function on my connect lite does not always show the route taken because of insufficient GPS data. Sometimes it shows the route other times it doesn't. Anyone else have this problem and any idea what causes it? tom
  14. Reading this thread it seems to me we have got into an unresolvable discussion. Seems to me any speed limit posted up on private ground, whether or not looking like a "proper" speed limit sign is indicative only. It's the land owners decision as to how to enforce the limit and what action to take. I can't see what more needs to be said. Lastly, and so far not mentioned and definitely applicable to diesels (I think the 1.5 tsi as well), letting the car proceed in gear on tickover with no throttle input has the potential to damage the dual mass flywheel. Beware. tom
  15. As far as I know the software gets updated when the dealer does the annual service, this is routine. If you do buy one the rubber mats from the Yeti can be used in the Karoq. The drivers side just needs one hole punched into it for the perfect fit (I didn't bother to punch the hole initially) tom
  16. Yes I have a 68 plate 1.5 SeL, only done 12,000 miles. All OK so far. Still a great car. tom

Take it back to the dealer. tom
  18. An old iPhone 8 works for me. I never hardwire to the car just use the bluetooth connectivity in case there is a call. tom
  19. Anyone got a photo of the wireless charging pad/box as fitted to the UK Karoq. I'm looking for a neat solution for my MY 2019 SeL. tom
  20. Looks like it will be legal (just)! Speedo must not under read. https://tiresize.com/comparison/ tom
  21. Re above. I omitted to mention that I run with the aircon permanently on. tom
  22. 1.5 tsi dsg. Since lockdown, all short rural journeys (2-5 miles,) I've been getting 32 to 35 mpg. Prior to lockdown it was up around 39mpg .The only difference is that prior there were the occasional 50 mile journeys. I have occasionally got to the mid 40s on longer journeys but have never got 50mpg. I'm a low mileage driver, since buying the car ( Christmas 2018) I've only done just over 11,000 miles and I'm scoring 97 to 99 on Connect Lite App driving style rated "Gentle". I see you have already looked at Honest John 'Real MPG'. https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/realmpg/skoda/karoq-2017 that mirrors my experience. Tom
  23. No issues on our MY19. Ordered some anyway on the 'Manchester Basis'. If you can't see across the street, it's raining. If you can see across the street, it's going to rain! Inevitably I will need them. I would rather pay a good price for good wipers than pay dealer prices for whatever Skoda supply. tom
  24. Thanks, just ordered. tom
  25. Even worse, unwanted dealer stickers on the bodywork. At least they are easy to take off. tom
