Karoq Varioflex Seats Query - too tall
I thought that only applied to the centre seat. Next time I'm in the car I will try on the other two. tom

1.5DSG vs 1.6TDI DSG
Mine is the same engine and and DSG and that's what I would expect. I have to consciously work at it to get it up above 42 mpg. I have never reached 50. The only time I could get it to a regular high 40's was when there was a long stretch of the A14 past Cambridge with a 40mph limit. tom

SatNav routing
Let me first apologise, I know all about RTFM the problem is at my age I find it hard. I have the SD Card version of the SatNav (MIB 2?). I understand that it can remember journeys that later can then be used as routes. Have I got this right, if so how do I do I save the journey and then how do I later use it as a route? Thanks tom

Leaving an old iPhone in boot of Karoq as a cheap tracker
Just wire the phone through a switched relay then you can place it anywhere in the car. As an aside, if my iPhone needs charging and I am away from home I will leave it plugged in the car overnight. I've not yet had a problem. tom

Use iPhone reliably as hotspot for car
My Karoq is not WiFi enabled but when I have used my Iphone as a hotspot for other computers this is the sequence (as used on my iPhone 8). <Settings> <Personal Hotspot> <Allow Others to Join>. Make active Once I make it active I then get the second machine to search for the iPhone. I then enter the phones Wi-Fi password on the second machine to connect. I have only needed to do this once for my iPad, afterwards it connects automatically. Logic says that after you have enabled the hotspot on the phone you need to get the car to search for the phone and take it from there. Remember you are getting the car to use the phones hotspot not getting the phone to use the SIM enabled cars hotspot. Good luck. tom

Karoq Time. Advice please.
When kangarooing was an issue (don't hear so much of it nowadays) it was mainly on manual cars. It appeared that somehow the DSG's were less affected. tom

Creating a route on my Satnav
Thanks At my age I am used to lots of things being cleverer than me. It comes to all of us eventually. tom

Creating a route on my Satnav
I must be doing something wrong. I want to create a custom route. from my home "A" via a village on a particular road "B" to my destination "C". The satnav offers me the usual three choices, red green and orange none of which go via the route I want to take. I cannot see how to "shape" the route to what I want. I then thought that I would just have to create the route from "A" to "B" and then create another route from "B" to my destination at "C". When I tried this the car only wanted to create the route from where I was parked i.e. "A". How then do I create the route from "B" to "C" when I am parked at "A"? My fix was to drive to "B" and while I was there then create the route to "C". Is it me or the car that is "Simply not Clever"? If I can't do this it looks like I will just have to dig out my 12 year old Garmin Zumo and relearn how to create the route I want. Help tom

19" Karoq Tyre sizes,
Isn't ET50 is too much. I thought ET45 was the maximum. tom

Anyone fitted 19" all weather tyres on their Karoq?
My understanding is that an under reading speedo can't be legal. There is no leeway. The only legal leeway is for speedos that over read. tom

1.5TSi MPG
Just keep in mind the cruise control is only interested in maintaining the set speed, nothing else. tom

1.5TSi MPG
The centre console screen shows the last mode used. But... the little screen in the centre of the instrument panel shows what is really happening. I can have the main central satnav screen showing "Eco" and the instrument panel screen showing D1 D2 etc. There was a lot of discussion about this in the early days.

1.5TSi MPG
My car has "Individual" settings so I have mine set up using Eco combined with the heavier steering. Why Eco, because I like the softer throttle response and more economical aircon. The coasting function doesn't bother me. tom

1.5TSi MPG
Depends on the sort of journeys you are doing. If you are regularly doing decent runs then a diesel might be better. If like me your driving is mostly short journeys then the mpg becomes less relevant. I was doing well over 15,000 miles a year in my diesel Yeti, It now takes me over three years to do the same mileage. Mpg is no longer a relevant factor. With a diesel doing that mileage I'd be more worried about dpf and egr problems. tom

MIB3 Map Updates - again!
Reading this thread makes me happy that I hit the "sweet spot" with my late 2018 SeL DSG. My great local dealer (Vindis Bury St Edmunds) updates the software and the MIB2 SD card for me at the annual service. I also have the flappy paddles (that get used occasionally) and bootlight torch that I understand are no longer on the SeL I had the free year of Skoda Connect when I bought the car and never used it. I'm not sure I'd be happy to pay for it. Without Skoda Connect would the maps still get updated at the service? I use a Zumo 550 on my motorbike (previously used on my non satnav Yeti) and the maps on that date from 2007. It still finds places I want to get to. Think about it, 99% of roads don't change. Out of date maps generally show you driving across fields when trunk roads are altered. Even up to date maps can get you lost (try finding Cambridge Crematorium amid the current "road improvements"). tom

1.5TSi MPG
My 2018 SeL DSG is in the low thirties doing mostly under 2 mile journeys. I have only done 16,000 miles in three and a half years, town driving (not in a city). tom

Eco mode question
As well as the changes as stated above Eco also 'softens' the acceleration. My driving style is gentle and I quite like Eco mode. The thing to do is forget mpg and try the various modes and use the one that suits your driving style. tom

MIB 3 Software glitches - Camberley Service Centre - anyone used?
I'm sure elsewhere on this forum someone has said that the Skoda maps are always a year older than the VW ones and that it was possible to update using the VW system to get the latest maps. Whether this was just for MIB2 I'm not sure. tom

Flat Battery
My stop/start rarely kicks in. I have only done 15,000 miles in just over three years. Most of my journeys are under 3 miles (not in a city). I'm not particularly bothered by it. tom
