  1. And it's a MoT failure Tom
  2. Alibaba? I'm there must be a joke about forty thieves in there! tom
  3. I bought cheap on Ebay a set of wheel centre caps for the winter wheels on my Yeti. The "worm" appeared very quickly. You pay your money and take your choice, However at 8.99 you are not chucking away a lot of money. tom
  4. My dealer (Vindis, Bury St Edmunds) does it when they do the annual service. So far they haven’t charged me. I have to ask them to do it for me At the moment I don’t have a means of connecting a SD card to my MacBook (itself a further complication) Tom
  5. I didn't renew my free Skoda Connect once it ran out at the end of the first year I have the SD card system in my Karoq and currently the dealer updates the card mapping at my annual service. Does this mean they will stop doing it for free after 5 years, or is this just a dealer/customer local arrangement? tom
  6. Dragging something up from my distant past memory. Is this something that a ground loop isolator would help with? It used to be a common problem with wired intercoms on motorbikes getting interference from the engine. Could the camera be interfering with the radio? I'm a numpty re electronics and this came into my head as a electronic interference solution I used in the 1990s albeit for a different problem. tom
  7. Sanqhar posted a topic in Skoda Karoq
Who do I contact regarding a routing problem. If I select my home postcode as a destination the navigation takes me to another nearby postcode. Even the Connect Lite app shows the wrong address. Who do I report this to? tom
  8. Is there a setting whereby the Nav system automatically zooms in at turns, junctions etc. My maps are on a SD card (car is a MY19 SeL). tom
  9. That is my assumption. It can't be by wifi as my car doesn't have it's own sim. tom
  10. Check around for prices for the Dataplug. They can vary from around £6 to £40. My car is MY2019 without any internet connection. The car talks to the phone via Bluetooth. When the car needs to talk to Skoda (like when first configuring) I assume it does it via the phone. tom
  11. The normal mapping on my iPhone is accurate, it's the Connect Lite that records trips in straight lines and doesn't know where I live. tom
  12. It’s not accurate enough to find your car in a car park. When I park my car at home, 30 yards from the road it shows the address as a totally different street (and postcode!). tom
  13. Let's hope the Led doesn't bring up a Canbus fault. tom
  14. Sitting in the car today I checked out the map and it appears to have been updated. I'd still need to drive it to make sure it doesn't tell me to 'keep right' the same way it told me before. tom
  15. Connect Lite appears to be working better and now the 'Trips' are showing the routes on the map. However when I zoom in the routes show in straight lines and don't follow the curves of the roads. Is this a setting or is it one of those 'They all do that Sir' situations. tom
  16. First, I don't know, this is just a guess. When you open the App on your phone tap the 'Menu" (three green lines at the top left). Scroll down to the bottom of the list on the next screen (the one with 'Trips, Statistics etc in bold). At the bottom in a small normal font is 'Settings'. When you tap this one of the options that comes up is 'New Dataplug' 'Pair new Dataplug'. Let us know how you get on. tom
  17. Need to try that one. I used to travel west to Sandy a lot. The last time I went was last November and at the Cambridge road works the car kept telling me to keep right, I did and ended up going over the big bridge towards Huntingdon. It was a nightmare to get back onto the A428. I ended up getting out my old Garmin Zumo (with 2007 maps!) and trying the best of both. Eventually the wife got out the map book and navigated us back to the 428. Next time I hope the maps my dealer just updated for me will get me there. Tom
  18. I think it's all to do with the cover being fixed to the boot lid and being pulled out near its limit every time the boot is opened. I'm not attaching the cover to the boot lid now, just leaving it retracted till its needed. tom
  19. I always make sure to park any brand new car in the sun on purpose in order to 'cook' the paint. My cars certainly go nowhere near a commercial car wash in the first year. tom
  20. December 2018 (MY19). 11,000 miles. tom
  21. Just like when Garmin moved from Mapsource to Basecamp. Why? tom
  22. Replaced under warranty. tom
  23. Mine's booked in tomorrow to look at this. tom
  24. Even weirder I use the individual setting with Eco mode and heavier steering. On restarting the Eco reverts to the normal Drive mode but the heavier steering remains. tom
  25. It’s probably looking for a VW car. Same happened to me. When I used the Skoda software it recognised the VIN Ok. Tom
