Seat cover suggestions pls
If the seats have airbags you should not put covers on them?

Virtual cockpit
I no longer plug my Iphone in either, just use the 12v socket with a charger, as I prefer it not to take over on the main screen. Phone still connects fine this way.

Engine oil temperature virtual cockpit vs infotainment
Same issue as in my edition probably. Turn on the ignition and it displays the last trip data mpg distance from start etc. This resets once running if the time interval exceeds the time allowed for breaks in journey.

Virtual cockpit
You only need to note the speedo differences for future reference, either with google maps or I use a speed app, then the built in nav is adequate and I prefer it to using google maps having tried both as better integrated to car. I just remember that real 30mph is indicated 33, etc up to 70 is 76 for exact speed, and even then there will be a couple of mph for leeway before a camera trap is triggered so safe. As above most traffic unfortunately believe their speedo and travel slower than allowed. My wife sits at an indicated 65 in a 70 area, and no explanation that she is only doing 60 really gets through her perceived risk of getting a speeding fine

DSG Paddle after purchase
Probably as I know at least one retrofitted them to his Yeti. But not straightforward. Is it worth it though? I have them and apart from checking they work virtually neve use them

Collection Day
They would probably throw the mats away so they can sell a new set to the new owner.

Karoq 1.5 SE L Tyres
I don't worry about looks in winter. Safety over fashion. My car is currently on 16” black steel wheels winter tyres and no wheel covers. I think it looks quite mean and purposeful on an all black car anyway. Much rather have steel hubs on winter salted roads and save the alloys from damage.

Dash board squeaks
All 3 Yetis I had had clicks and squeaks from the dash, seems to be built in. All the above help for a bit, but it always came back.

Plenty of snow here today and I have a steep drive which a 2wd car on summer tyres would not get up in snow. No problem at all with 4wd and Dunlop winter tyres. Snow mode is great as it applies power to all the tyres to move away up the slope with no spinning noticeable

Ride quality on the vega 19” alloy wheels
But not a type approved size for the car so not allowed and you would have to get approval from your insurance company as well?
-
Ride quality on the vega 19” alloy wheels
I did read somewhere that the sportline uses 235/40 tyres so not quite as bad changing to 225/45? Not sure if correct though?

Ride quality on the vega 19” alloy wheels
Won't that make the speedo under read as the overall rolling radius has increased? Hence potentially illegal.

Skoda connect and internet radio
Sorry slightly incorrect. Car was connected to phone but phone was using home WiFi as close enough to get a signal on drive so no issue with huge downloads. From memory it took hours to download the data as The update covered most of Europe. I updated the other items as well the same way

Skoda connect and internet radio
I updated my maps on my MY20 car by connecting it to the home WiFi whilst parked on drive and using my unlimited home data allowance. Can’t you do that on the newer model?

I am using the steel 16” 6j winter wheels I bought new for my yeti. Now on third winter. These tyres are probably cheaper than 17” which would have to be lower profile. The new steel hubs were £50 each and I had a choice of tyres fitted. currently using Dunlop Winter Sport. Winter tyres are meant to be on16” 6j as standard for Karoq. Hence this size is on the filler cover.

Couple of questions, SS & ext mirrors related.
Didn’t work for me. AA came out, jump started the car and then followed me to dealer 25 miles away to ensure I got there as the dealer had to test the battery after charging overnight before Skoda would authorise the new battery. Took nearly a week to do this and source a battery during which they lent me a car.

Karoq plastic textured bumper scratched
I damaged mine at 2 days old driving off from parking into a concrete planter I couldn’t see from the driving seat and auto brake didn’t work. I would like to know how to hide the damage as the lower black part of the bumper costs over £400 plus fitting?

Who knew? Reversing camera wash.
Yes 3. 2010, 2014 & 2017. Only the last one had a rear camera as an option though. Wouldn’t consider another car without that again.

Who knew? Reversing camera wash.
Better than the Yeti when the lens often got obscured with mud!

Missing our Yeti Urban, did the facelift improve on things like rust and DPF ?
Nothing wrong in buying a diesel which has already been made and sold New Years ago. Impact on environment building it already made and Euro 6 tdi is as clean as petrol and will be more economical

Tramping
I would rather steer into a skid and recover stability, which I would do instinctively having been in that situation before and doing the right action without time to think, than slide straight on when I want to turn. Oversteer is probably safer for an inexperienced driver though? Plus with a 4x4 the rear wheels may have more grip and push the car straight forward instead of turning as required when manouvering?
-
Tramping
I just prefer to have more tread on the front, I think it is safer if the steering wheels have more grip than the rear ones in very wet conditions? Then I can change all 4 in one go so all the same type and make, rather than a mixture.

Missing our Yeti Urban, did the facelift improve on things like rust and DPF ?
My wifes 1.6tdi fabia was doing under 4k a year, but we had no issues with the dpf. We bought the car due to its excellant value, a Euro 5 model, with 11.5K on the clock in 6 momths from new, biut had sat on the forecourt for 7 months unsold because of this high initial mileage. We had it for about 5 years and sold it with 25k on the clock, with no issues ever, and ne warning lights to go for a run to clear the dpf. It went to York and back, about 50m return at least once a fortnight with all the other journeys short to supermarkets, etc. This was enough to keep it healthy. Your commute of 20 miles is adeal for a diesel. Just make sure you get a Euro 6 version with the adblu tank in the boot, so no issues with the fix. I had the fix done to a Greenline Yeti, and in my opinion it ruined the car. The Fabia was not done deliberately whilst we owned it, despite many leeters from Skoda trying to persuade us, and that was the same 1.6 as in the Greenline Yeti.

Tramping
My first two 2wd Yetis also did this, as did previous Superb, common in a front wheel drive car.

How many gears does the Karoq DSG 4x4 Diesel have?
My car has 7 gears and uses all of them. Never noticed a regen in action yet affecting gears used.
