Yes the batteries will need coding in when changed these days. Wrong coding and the poor car might supply too much or too little power.

Thanks, perhaps you can pry it out? In the documents it has no separate way to remove on it's own, just taking out a large portion of the interior. EDIT: I did check the part numbers of the USB connection, all I will say is make sure to order the part with your VIN as the USB connector has many different sizes (at the back end)

It's the firmware loaded onto the head unit. Might vary, but usually you hold down the menu button a few seconds to enter hidden menu.

VAG don't provide a change log with each release. Usually they don't add features, but always exception's where they load something missing. If you can find Software Train I could look for possible updates

Where did you find them in your car? Might help narrow down the search a little. Your title suggests door card possibility? Add year details to your profile if you can.

You will need to press and hold down menu button to update firmware. This will show a different screen with Software Train information, post a picture of that.
