  1. Has the head of the bolt you drilled completely gone?
  2. Sounds like the stop screw has not been adjusted properly.
  3. Yes! If the ECU senses low voltage then it shuts off the PAS. Fix that alternator.
  4. Give it a good tap all the way round with a soft faced hammer.
  5. I expect all three were registered by the same dealer to be sold ex-demo, specs would be completely random.
  6. You can fit an aftermarket kit but factory fit is rare, I have it and irritates the hell out of me, the car is so small that it's utterly superfluous frankly.
  7. Yes, a sticky pad is needed but I've always used double sided carpet tape to good effect, it's even stronger and stickier!
  8. No. You simply won't be able to drill it out by hand because you cannot consistently apply enough force to the workpiece. Your only hope now is to slice the head completely off the bolt using an angle grinder, then you can remove the driveshaft, remove the bolt stub using grips and refit using a new bolt.
  9. Amazon deliver VERY quickly where you are. You could've had the correct tool to hand by now...
  10. The only sensor that could really affect consumption is the pre cat lambda probe, simply replace it if you can afford to.
  11. It's a bit thirstier than I'd expect but if you want good economy then drive like a granny. The problem is that the 1.4 16V engine likes to rev and if you drive it hard it loves it, but the fuel economy is poor, so take your lead boots off and drive it more carefully.
  12. Balls to all that, just tappy-tap-tap the bit into the head until it fits well enough to undo.
  13. So you could replace the valve stem seals on one cylinder bank without removing the head?
  14. The brake switch is usually a double pole unit that sends a signal to the ECU using one of them and the brake lights on the other, it sounds like only half the switch is working.
  15. You must have an enormous leak if you're losing that much oil in a week! Are you sure it's not burning it? Remove the offending spark plug and check it's not oil travelling up the thread from the cylinder.
  16. There isn't a seal, the cover is sealed with RTV silicon sealant, I doubt the joint is leaking, are you sure it isn't spillage from top ups and oil changes?
  17. In my opinion you shouldn't spend any more than you need to, boost hoses are either airtight or they aren't.
  18. Always worth checking the glow plugs since it's easy to do.
  19. Monte Carlo is a TRIM spec, not a type, please supply correct vehicle details. You might as well ask if a throttle pedal from a blue one will fit a red one!
  20. Not a problem on belt driven engines, only worn chain drives are at risk.
  21. Christ, that's a horror show! It sounds like two skeletons shagging in a dustbin. I think it may be the cam chain, beware of imminent disaster if it's the 1.2 petrol engine.
  22. It's an incredibly simple thing to do, therefore you should pay £40 and get Halfords to do it since they will correctly dispose of your old coolant which is more difficult for you to do.
  23. Yes, it's a 36mm bi-hex as you correctly state.
  24. I wouldn't buy that, the mileage is too low and the number plate's obviously been tampered with!
