  1. I wouldn't take too much notice, as long as he's good with the tools then you can ignore the drivel.
  2. The PCV separator is a box and it's tricky to get at because it's down the back of the engine below the inlet plenum.
  3. I reckon the PCV oil separator is clogged up.
  4. Whoops, you obviously didn't check the timing before finishing up by turning the crank twice and reinserting the cam locks!
  5. Must be the Flexible exhaust coupling leaking, it's right under there so I suggest you get it up in the air and get the undertray off to confirm.
  6. I think with the PSB bushes you can fit the black bit to the wishbone, put the red bit in the console then just lube it all up and fit it.
  7. You can get your rack rebuilt, probably the cheapest option but you may be able to get an already rebuilt rack on exchange, it won't be a part unique to the Fabia VRS, many other VAG cars will also have one fitted.
  8. Just the latest in a long line of ID shapeshifters, Christ knows why it's so important, no-one cares IRL...
  9. LPG is VERY hard on spark plugs and coil packs, even worse than petrol, I'm quite certain that you have at least one bad coil pack, you can sometimes see the insulation on top of a bad coil pack has gone lumpy where the coil pack has suffered internal overheating.
  10. Especially SDI's, they're so glacially slow that the engine doesn't really get hot, I bet the fan doesn't work from lack of use.
  11. Christ on a bike you really are a pompous buffoon, you just got here but a lot of us have been on this forum doing this stuff for real for donkeys years. What size are these bolts then, little todgers or big dicks? You don't have a scooby because you don't know what you're talking about. These are not TTY bolts, replacement is recommended due to the loss of the pretty green anti corrosion coating and so that dealers can make a margin on more stuff. Nobody called the safety police so move along, there's nothing to see here, clean the threads with a wire brush and the bolts will torque up just fine, 124NM if they're M12 X 1.5. I'm calling BS on your "trade" experience as well.
  12. Oh really, well I've done it many, many times, most recently on a Passat so I'll take your lack of experience under advisement thanks.
  13. Don't buy a genuine console bush, get a PSB bush, really easy to install and better handling as a bonus. Look up Fabia PSB bush on eBay, vastly superior and no special tools needed.
  14. ...or lower the subframe slightly, you don't need to unbolt it, just loosen it enough to clear. Also front bushes rarely give any trouble, whereas the console bushes always need replacing.
  15. If you're offended by the ugly corrosion simply mask the background with a piece of cardboard and use masking tape on the wiper arm, then a wire brush and some black smooth Hammerite will cure your OCD for just the cost of the paint. No need to remove or replace anything.
  16. You don't get the full output at idle so it takes longer and is a lot less fun.
  17. Take the car for a blast on the M4, that'll be sufficient to charge it properly.
  18. If the CEL is on there will be a fault code stored. The change in fuel brand will absolutely NOT be related, no causal connection is possible.
  19. The compressor is permanently engaged so it shouldn't make a noise and the volume of air running over the evaporator also doesn't change so not sure what you're feeling except placebo maybe. Did you test for leaks before filling the system?
  20. Because it contains the word 'rape' and could be misheard is my deduction.
  21. 100ma could be caused by an illuminated festoon bulb, glove box, boot etc.
  22. The problem is the deadlock, the only way to bypass it is to smash the lock mechanism itself, however since you have access to the loom you may be able to hotwire the lock module and get the deadlock to release.
  23. £1500 is a crazy price, with all those problems it's overpriced at a grand, the main issue is that a low mileage is massively overvalued by the trade, a low mileage is actually WORSE for these cars so look for one with average mileage.
