1.3 MPI (175 miles to a tank)
You should get better MPG, particularly on a long run, although to be fair that's largely a terrible journey on single carriageways, nonetheless I would expect about ten percent more but it might be hard to find on such an ancient engine.

Freewheeling alternator pulley
These pulleys are fitted to engines with a lumpy tickover to reduce the pulsing and slapping of the belt and smooth the alternator output at idle.

Cigarette ashtray in center console
Very essential, so you can see the fagsmoke in the dark in countries where even your GP smokes!

Instrument cluster question…
The old one can be repaired, given that it's all four needles I imagine they're all illuminated by the same failed LED which can be replaced by a workshop with the necessary equipment.

Door witing harness
Obviously options unused on your car, your problem is bigger than just the loom, the control module has probably been shorted out when the old loom failed so badly.

Random metal stick found in car engine query
I think it's been used as an idiots scriber or centrepunch.

Random metal stick found in car engine query
...also TIG electrodes are generally 150mm long which looks about right and I'm not suggesting it's ever done any welding, rather it's been used for some purpose for which it was not designed.

Random metal stick found in car engine query
I said it looked like one... Arse, covered!

Random metal stick found in car engine query
Looks like a ground tungsten electrode for use in an arc welder for getting stuff really hot, really quickly!

P0420 + missfire 1.2 HTP
I think you may have an air leak in the brake servo vacuum pipe.

Is Deailer Ripping me off ?
OP, you have three choices: Pay the £99 to get a huge quote from the dealer. Take it to an independent specialist. Fix it yourself.

Which way do the bleed nipples face on 312s once fitted?
Errrr, up, air bubbles RISE in a liquid! You have the calipers the wrong way round.

Mufflerectomy
Yes, that's all it is, helps make your VRS sound like a Massey Ferguson and pull the plod, does nothing else, win/win.

Update on a P0546 fault and car losing power
I imagine the Lambda and pressure sensor are badly fouled with soot because the exhaust hasn't been getting hot enough due to the faulty temperature sensor and also being stuck in limp mode for too long.

Fault codes P256300 and P029900
I feel like I'm repeating myself here but the boost control position sensor is the actuator, so this is confirmation that the actuator is faulty. Why are you looking for another problem when it's staring you in the face? Contrary to popular belief the actuator is available separately from the turbo and is only about a hundred quid, but the main dealers do not sell it separately so this is probably why no-one wants to fix the car for you.

Fabia vRS (ASZ): Possible turbo actuator vacuum failure
It's just a diaphragm in a can and it can perish and split, don't mess about just fit a new one.

Side indicator upgrade.
Keeps him out of the missus eyeline so he's less likely to get bitten...

Rather disappointing mpg.
Your journeys are much too short, the car isn't getting into closed loop running and you'll be getting a lot of yoghurt under the oil filler cap due to condensation buildup, you really need to get the engine hot but that means motorway miles. Stick with the super plus unleaded on that engine but give it a run out or it'll start to play up.

Engine rattle
Blimey, that's a racket, it definitely sounds like the top end, I suspect low oil pressure is responsible, you need to get an oil pressure gauge connected instead of the oil pressure switch and log the oil pressure at various RPM.
