  1. Bucket of warm water and a good microfibre cloth is all you really need for a weekly wipe down. Then for a twice yearly deep clean. Some kind of APC, again microfibre cloth, a detailing brush. You could go further and get a wet vac for the seats and carpet mats. For the leather parts. Dr Leather wipes.
  2. £500 is a ridiculous price for GAP. So no, that wouldn’t be worth it, regardless of the situation. As said, it’s available much cheaper elsewhere. ALA is where I’ve got mine in the past.
  3. Your 2019 SEL came with LED low functionally as standard, unless you picked the option for high functionally. 1. Pre facelift LED cluster. Fitted to vRS and L&K as standard. Optional on other trims. 2. Facelift LED low functionality. Fitted as standard on all trims exc. vRS and L&K. 3. Facelift LED high functionality. Fitted to vRS and L&K trims as standard. Optional on other trims.
  4. Learning is a better option. So you know what’s happening.
  5. This - to me - sounds like the window drop feature used on cars with frameless windows. The window tucks up under the seal when closed. To open or close the door though, the window needs to be dropped. A completely pointless feature on the Superb, which has a frame.
  6. Just use VCDS or something to set the fog light to a DRL if that’s what you want. It’ll look better than them plus it won’t fail after 5 minutes, like they will.
  7. You could probably set the rears to DRL as well. I have on my Mk3. No experience of making VCDS changes on the Mk4 however. Appreciate this isn’t what you were asking either. Just some info really.
  8. 26K out of a set of pads also seems questionable to me. Based on my own experience.
  9. Does that mean you have a dynamic, flashing red light when indicating..? That’s how I’m reading that. Think you’ll have issues come MOT time if that’s the case.
  10. It’s largely a waste of time if you don’t have memory seats. The mirror isn’t able to store positions without the memory so it’s hit and miss wether it works properly or not. Mine was miss, so i reversed the changes.
  11. Mk7 GTI - Mk3 VRs - Mk6 GTI Is the order id be picking.
  12. My long term average - over about 6 years - is about 37mpg. I did calculate it a few times and the computer there or thereabouts agreed. So I don’t bother anymore.
  13. Like them. They look tiny though. Smaller than 18” anyway. But for winter wheels I’m a fan.
  14. 18”s look far too small on the Mk4 imo.
  15. Dehumidifier would be my solution. An electric one, not those windowsill packet ones.
  16. You’ve made a neat job of that, certainly. I’m sticking with physical, tactile buttons and dials as long as I can however. But like I said, good work 👍🏻
  17. A quick AutoTrader search using your budget the majority of the results are Mk3 with only a handful of Mk4s.
  18. No. As said, the double C is a pre facelift light. The facelift lights were single thin C or single thick C.
  19. The footwell lights don’t change colour. It’s just the door ambient lighting and the instrument cluster that change.
  20. Better messaging the YouTube channel and asking.
  21. Yes but it’s not a simple plug and play. You’d be fitting a pre facelift light cluster to a facelift car. Suspect the pin arrangement and even the plug itself will be different. It’s up to you whether you feel it’s worth the effort or not. Even switching to the thick ‘C’ from the facelift likely isn’t plug and play and would at the least need some coding.
  22. There were two types of pre facelift light and two types of facelift light. Pre Facelift: - filament bulb, single ‘C’ style light. Low functionality. - LED, double ‘C’ style light. High functionality. Facelift: - LED, single ‘C’ style light. Low functionality. - LED, single thick ‘C’. High functionality. Both high functionality light types were standard on vRS and L&K models and an optional extra on other models (although they were possibly standard on SE Tech models too). There is no differentiation between hatch and estate models.
  23. I can only see 2 190s on auto trader right now. So I’d be inclined to just look for a good vrs and if a good 190 pops up, go for that instead.
  24. Yeah we’ve gone from looks, better performance and economy to raised rise height in about 5 posts. I think the problem is you’re not sure what you want to do or why you want to do it. There is a reason Octavias are used as taxis up and down the country. They do it well, out the box. Just leave it.
