  1. If you haven't already done so make sure that 16s will fit over the brakes. Some Superbs won't take smaller than 17s
  2. That's disappointing but sounds like the fitters acted decently. Good luck with the dealer attempt
  3. "**Bingly bong** Hello Superb owner, we notice that you have not subscribed to the Skoda Steering and Reversing package. Would you like to do so now for only £79.99 for 12 months? Your subscription will also include three months of Braking for free and 20 uses of the Handbrake. * Further Handbrake activations are £0.20/pull." "You selected No. Your car is now restricted to going forwards in a straight line only."
  4. I'd take it back to the garage that fitted them first to see if they made a mistake.
  5. @BarneyMike did you get it sorted in the end?
  6. @TheITGuy My route was A47/A148/backroads yesterday as I was up near Cromer I can't say I've ever noticed myself sliding around even when whizzing round the smaller roundabouts. And no, I don't have a massive backside that overlaps the sides
  7. I'm a gargantuan 5'6 myself with a spot of extra padding and today I did a 300 mile round trip without stops in either direction and felt fine when I got out. 7.5 hours total driving. That's the trouble when travelling to Norfolk - Norfolking motorways Well, apart from my back by that's just age and not seat related. Adjusting the lumbar support helps it.
  8. Might be different sizes for RHD/LHD. Just a guess though.
  9. It could be as simple as the wrong coding. Mine is the factory fitted towbar but when I had a Mk II I had one fitted after purchase and the fitting company coded it incorrectly. No lights on the dash but it didn't recognise the caravan when reversing. They had to code it a second time for it to function as expected. I take it you've also tried unplugging the dashcam from the fusebox? Highly unlikely as you say but you never know. Whilst you're in there make sure that none of the other fuses have been knocked by accident.
  10. How do people get on with undoing the nut on the negative point? I'm currently using clip-on leads instead as when I start to undo the nut the pressure of the terminals attached to the bolt means they push themselves up it and I'm worried that they'll push themselves all the way to the end and then fall off.
  11. Warning: there's a car nearby Warning: door open Don't forget your mobile telephone! Ooo don't go and reverse into that wall 50 feet behind you! Put a hat on, it's cold out. Water pump? Dunno mate, haven't got a sensor for that. Car makers need to start concentrating on useful stuff and not pointless gadgetry that's only accessible via s massive touchscreen. Anyway, happy towing.
  12. BT is great but there's no need to put it in everything. Using an app to control my pressure washer? WTF! I'm talking to you Karcher 😅
  13. The Cteks can be left on charge and maintain the battery as necessary. I remember when my dad used to bring his car battery in the house and connect it to a huge old battery charger when I was a kid (a few moons ago now). He'd top up the electrolyte and leave the covers off to vent. It hummed and fizzed a lot. Now we're all mollycoddled with new fangled self monitoring non-exploding technology Don't get me started on making everything bluetooth enabled...
  14. Press the Car button on the infotainment a few times - it will eventually say why stop/start isn't activating. Mine sometimes says "power consumption too high" which I presume to mean it's busy charging the battery/heating my backside/doing something electrical. It may also say that the engine needs to be on because of the aircon (to stop it misting up on damp days). If you've only been doing short runs then the battery may also be low on charge as @freelunch says. I charge mine over the weekend every few weeks with a Ctek smart charger and that seems to avoid issues once the car is up to temperature (ie. water temp. gauge on 90 in my case).
  15. The front door trim can rub on the back door trim where they meet which can pop one of them off a little when opening the doors. Have a search on here for topics about trim.
  16. I'm on the original screen and the gaps look similar. I don't have any wind noise. Check the trim around the windows too - if that's not fitted correctly (there was a recall) then it could be the cause.
  17. Yup, brand new registered 1st March 2016.
  18. Dunno about disabling KESSY but I received 2 keys with my 2016 car.
  19. Mine gets pretty hot under the bonnet anyway. I put it down to having an engine
  20. I was expecting to have to change mine this year (2016 car) as I had the 12v warning even a few days after a full charge though never to the degree that it failed to start. The last time I charged it I left it for a few days past the "I'm charged" stage rather than unplugging it when it said it was done and I've not had a problem since. Stop/start is also working happily. Mine's the CTEK 3.8 charger.
  21. Have you thought about removing your lead soled boots before getting in the car?
  22. I think they're used to pop the centre caps from some wheels - wife's old non-Skoda had one.
