  1. nah, 500 is too small for the corsa size class with the car hire game in my opinion...
  2. if its only worn to the blocks on the outside(which is how it looks to me) you need to get the tracking checked. what you posted from Michelin doesnt really apply as you are at the blocks on part of the tyre. they are talking about changing tyres when they are only worn to like 4mm. i doubt you meant full "slight" aquaplaning, and more meant you have momentarily lost FULL traction? what are the other tyres looking like? is it only one corner?
  3. hes all over tiktok too, lovely little videos
  4. car hire bingo is open for all to play, i always shared my toys as a kid a Corsa in Lanzarote? the obvious would be an Ibiza, but i would expect it to be listed as that or similar... so.... Peugeot 209 or a micra..
  5. il be interested to see how this works out, as it sounds reasonably easy to do..
  6. i dont know if this has been mentioned here already, and i thought i saved the video, but... ULEZ protesters have started putting bat boxes over the cameras genius... because any bat habitat is protected by law and you are not allowed to disturb them or move them, thus the cameras cannot be put back in service. Im sure theres a clause that does allow the removal in certain circumstances but those clauses tend to have a lot of hoops to jump through..
  7. yup.. quite the dose. curiosity, with my fault ive figured out how to "make" it happen.. if i keep the revs under 2100 until the engine is fully warmed up i can avoid the limp mode. if i go over that before its at running temp it will dump a limp mode. also, once up to temp, if i coast / brake for longer than about 5 seconds without blipping the throttle, ill get the non limp mode version of the error, where it tells me its the maf, but it isnt really, its all the egr. which makes sense - the egr doesnt work until the engine is at running temp, so it being open/ part open when the engine isnt expecting it is going to cause pressure issues. and again, if its not closing when coming off the throttle, its going to create an unmetered air flow issue aswell..
  8. pay a bit more, get it blanked. i will be. at least then its not part of the engine and the ecu wont be looking for it anymore, so it cant become an issue issue again from either side.. at current exchange rates your quote and mine are pretty close, so i dont either are a rip off.. just need to make time for getting done.. i also need an aircon rad replacement and possibly a timing belt/pump, so its gonna be a bit of pricey service already 🙄
  9. Hi .. its your egr is sticking.. im having the same increasingly frequent limp mode with the 1.6 cayc in my octy, especially since i stopped driving it for work a few weeks ago when i was told to use a van again instead of mileage. literally just now on the shopping run. i also get a flashing coil error and "maf" error on occassion, but its really the egr. that doesnt throw a limp though, and happens if i coast for more than 5seconds without a throttle blip. due a service soon. and my skoda semi indy (own time after work in skoda dealers) told he can get the egr blankedand mapped out for me for about 300quid. lot cheaper than a new one..
  10. ive seen a few of these (dealership in my town) its odd, and i hate the led strip lights across the width of the car on every model/brand that does it. including audi a7 brake lights. but the ioniq 6 still wins the "twisted design of the year" award. its just wrong and not in a "grower" kinda way
  11. Hi @Stuart147 welcome along, dont worry, we're a gentle loveable crowd around here, even if the yeti section is a bit of its own little world do you know the username of the guy want to find? if you do, just put an @ symbol, then type it in, like i did above, it will tag the user and theyl get a notification
  12. 👋 welcome to Briskoda when you say its 2005, im going to assume that means its a "Tour" trim? so a 1.9pd engine, 100ps output? on normal suspension etc?
  13. yeah, sorry, i meant it runs from the front door through to the back door on each side
  14. @Giannis20 looks like it yeah, and it all one piece through both doors?
  15. Evening, does anyone know the part number for the interior plastic trim panel at the bottom of the front passenger door? colleague in work has a mkiv and one of the kids managed to crack the piece, so hes looki g to try and get a replacement.
  16. check out @FUBAR's thread about his android HU with bluetooth, gps etc. ebay job, and was very happy with it
  17. morning @CrassAss is it a hatchback or estate you have? first, easy, place to look on both would be that the seal is sealing properly. get some coloured chalk and rub it all over the seal on the car side. then get a damp cloth and rub down the hatch side. close the boot gently (to not force the seal) and open it again. the chalk should transfer all the way round, if theres any gaps, then its not sealing properly. the fact you say the seal has water in it points towards that, may need a new seal.
  18. i cant remember exactly, as its a long time since i recall it coming up on here last, but do a search in this sub section for NGK and Gap you should get some hits. edit... search result.. this one has details
  19. gap check those plugs.. also i am 99% sure that mapped 1.8T need ngk plugs (with a corrected gap) search that in this sub forum for the exact spec and if its really really really not the plugs, get your coil packs checked.
  20. my wife's arona has a 7speed dsg (dont which one i dont know) and ive used the manual mode a few times, but I feel like its upside down.. push forward for an upshift and pull back for down shift just feels wrong. it feels like pushing forward on an aircraft yoke to gain altitude would - wrong...
  21. what spark plugs did you use when replacing them? and what was in it? may need to check the gaps as i seem to recall mapped 1.8Ts needing the gap adjusted, but that may be in specific setups, may be that your map needs it and it hasnt been done..
  22. wire looms looking fine and being fine can be different things.. get a multimeter in there and start continuity testing them, in case theres any breaks.
  23. Hi @mark_amus when you say misfire, is the idle rough? fluctuating up and down and not settling? reason i ask that is the MAF fault on that list. if it is, try unplugging the maf and run it again. if no change it rules it out, if it settles down then the maf is done, and you need a new GENUINE one. not a pattern part, youll just end up buying an oem one anyway.
  24. so, yeah, its a golf estate. its easy to drive, easy to gauge spaces. keyless fob, electric handbrake (not something i like in any car)
