  1. health club is too far down the listing anyway... i started putting the circuit sessions into an excel file as its easier to read. last 2 mondays - and today i got out for my run since early November! a sub 30min 5k shake down nothing spectacular, but its broken the hardest challenge - convincing myself to get my arse out of the bed early, gear and just bloody go. next challenge break the habit of internet scrolling in bed instead of going to sleep..
  2. if its because of another thread youve been on with me yesterday/today, dont be letting a particular 'member' unable to see outside his own little box for lack of windows get under your skin to that extent 😞
  3. its a 225/40 r18 from the side wall visible. so.... 90mm ish sidewall? thin but not a ruber band compared to some tyres ive seen..

  5. this is the one i got - https://www.ebay.ie/itm/331758607878 still listed, so thats good. fits really well and still in good condition considering the abuse its gotten...
  6. @Nen_Vu I'll go digging in my emails and find a supplier, i got one from germany for my 2012 hatchback back in 2018, so they do exist...
  7. well i didnt puke or die... session was - 12xreverse lunge 10cal x pull down/airbike/bik 16xpush up 16 x squat jump with 6/10kg medicine ball 16 x wall row (TRX type slings) 8x runs, about 10m each length of the hall 45src wall sit squat 12 x burpees on the minute reverse the order after each lap mixed class, so motivation to look tough in front of the women that lasted the first 1.6 circuits...
  8. well, this hasnt been updated for a while.... i kept running, as often as i could, up to November. then a horrible week or 2 of work very far away etc followed by a few weeks of manky weather and spuds being unwell, and holiday planning and prep and then catching up on the work outside of the project id been on meant ive not done a tap since the end of October. going circuit training at 10am today though! first sesh since 2019... ill either puke or die. maybe both!
  9. quite probably. anybody got a part no for them so i can get them ordered before i break it out for a look?
  10. well, its a Christmas Miracle! havnt been able to go rip the glovebox out as, well, its been christmas with kids! and today we were heading for a woodland walk. out i wandered, got everyone strapped in and fired up donkey 2, and.... the fan started blowing again all on its own at fan setting whatever it was at on Saturday when id been into town. god knows if its permanently fixed or if its gonna pop its clogs again tomorrow, next week, next month, but for now at least i have a demisting and warm cabin again without doing anything
  11. hopefully ill get to have a look later tonight... ill also take some pics as i go so theres a bit of a guide for the next guy who doesnt know how to do it.
  12. tha ks @skomaz ill give it a go later/tonight... need to do the food shopping now, the cupboards are a bit bare!! and need to stockpile for the few days ahead too!
  13. well, after a week parked up in the long term carpark through the coldest coldest snap in 12 yrs, i jumped into Donkey 2 at half eleven last with my fingers crossed... fired up on the button first crank. thank all the Gods, as it was also raining and i didnt know where i might get a bump start if i needed it! i was confident though as the battery is only about a yr old. but, obviously it was all foggy, and me getting in wet from the rain didnt help that, so on went the heater to max, and the fan speed went up to start blowing, except the fan didnt do anything. i tried every setting, combination of temp, speed and direction it did nothing! thought to myself right, its been super cold while i was away, the battery may have cranked ok but perhaps its a bit down on power so its shut down the aircon system for a while.. so a quick manual defog, and i went to pick the rest of the family up from the terminal and head for home, with the screen re-fogging itself, and the air intake to windscreen vents setting the only airflow, i sat in 4th to get the engine heated up a bit faster so the air was at least warmed coming through which did enough to keep the mist at bay while driving home and eventually warmed the cabin up from the 5deg ambient outside temp! so, first checks today will be all the fuses, but given the controls were lighting up as expected, im more thinking stuck fan? or resistor pack failure? had a search last night before i fell asleep at 2am and that was a common cause on older mk2s but nothing recent came up..
  14. no problem, i figured id give my take on it. tried out the built in satnav today, now im getting to know my way around a little. its pretty good, though it was all in spanish as i never changed tge system language
  15. no not a slushbox, i dont think. feels very similar to whats in missus macs arona. and i just checked the reg docs and its a 1l, which just isnt enough for a vehicle that size, imo...
  16. photo update. its a chunk, plenty cabin space, but the boot isnt any roomier than an octavia, different shape, so volume pretty close i think, but i reckon octy still has it (mk2 at least..) headlights are good and bright, but do have that fuzzy blue light edge of the beam pattern on dims that i see on and annoys me with other cars. full leather seats are comfortable, and the back up camera assistant is pretty good - not sure where the cameras are for the above right screen trickery, presumably somewhere along roof rails? dash display is alright and its an auto.. that keeps changing its mind about what gear to be in at most of the local speed limits only 5000 odd km on it, so hard to tell how well stuck together it all is, but feels solid, other than some previous renter managed to break a clip off one of the parcel shelf string mounts, so that side keeps falling out and hanging weird.and said parcel shelf looks abit warped. i must ask the BIL how the bev ine is going, just havnt been able to talk to him much lately
  17. my brother in law has an all electric, this petrol one alright. lotta toys, drives okay
  18. nope oddly, no i didnt. i have ended up with.. a bright metallic blue, petrol engined, MG ZS built by SAIC..
  19. well now... havnt played for 3 1/2 yrs, because between the various ****shows since 2019, i hadnt left the country! i mentioned elsewhere i booked an estate - autoeurope, interrent. Alicante. "skoda Karoq or similar" what am i driving??????
  20. ive not used them, but if youre looking for an EU based parts supplier, Winparts are german based, ive used them for shipping to Ireland a few times and they supply the "better" branded stuff too (febi, Bilstein, etc)
  21. check tge sealant around the windscreen for any signs of separation or delamination of the glass. i gave a memory of someone having a similar problem and it was a gap where the actual windscreen had started to fail letting water in
