I could put this in several places, but i feel like this will reach more people who may need the information. Just saw a video on Tiktok that Tesla is facing another class action lawsuit in the US, for essentially clocking their cars. Turns out the Odometer reporting on some/ many Teslas have been using AI and driver "analytics " to alter the odometer reporting to increase the displayed distance travelled. Why would they do that? well because its another way to invalidate the warranty - by exceeding the warrantied distance faster. a guy noticed that the drive reporting was showing his very regular 25 mile commute was showing as erratic and varied driving up to 76miles. but after the vehicle went over the warranty covered 50k, the reporting normalised to it being a 25mile drive consistantly.

wonder is it the same failure points as the santa fes are having 🤷‍♂️ the dealer tech mentioned theyd had a couple of tuscons in as well...

warrantyor not id be getting fair sick of not having my vehicle because the engine keeps eating itself.. one of my main contractor reps in work had a hybrid kia thing for about 5months. it spent more time in the dealers than at work. his company insisted on a replacement vehicle after the 5th trip and went back to a diesel for him, which also had gearbox issues...

Fun (?) fact... was chattin to my dad yesterday who had been talking to his local mechanic who told him he was in a local Hyundai dealers collecting some parts. he was chitchattin with one of the lads in their workshop, askin were they busy. and was told, they were tipping along kept busy but they were going to get fairly hectic. there is currently 13 (yes, thirteen) 2024 reg Santa fes out the back with blown engines, waiting on the new ones to be delivered...

Door lock could be the dead bolt is stuck. if it sounds like it is getting power when you press the buttons, its the deadbolt. theres plenty threads on replacing them, just dont use a hammer etc. to open the door, i have explained many times on the lock threads its unnecessary violence. a stanley blade, 2 allen keys and patience. the rear wiper - check if the fuse has been pulled as a very first check. i pulled my fuse as the water damage electrical short made my front wipers come on permanently one day. pullingthe rear fuse stopped them. The washer fluid pipe passes through the center line of the motor, which why the motors get damaged... so that was a great design choice. the trim falling off is also common on estates and hatchbacks 🤣 couple of new clips, line it up and smack it into place, be grand. cup holder... ohhh its been a while, but presume its the 1 by the handbrake? mine was broken too, iirc (10yrs ago) it was the little spring had unseated itself. fiddly job to fix it, i possibly left it be. if you want, glue it down and you can get a double cup holder from a Lupo that fits in place of the storage cubby under the radio, if you have a single DIN headunit.

assuming its the same general arrangement as a mk1 octy door mechanism... did you carefully count how many rings/grooves the external pull cable was seated in before you took it off? it seems mental, but if your are a smidge too tight or too loose on that cable it affects the tension inside the latch release from both sides and it wont open. you need to get that external cable adjusted, tighten it 1 groove at a time first, if no joy work your way back in to loosen it off until it releases. yes i did the same thing 10yrs ago on my octy 🤣

cars struggle to reach high mileage these days because theyre all crap and badly made? 🤷‍♂️ more importantly, where the hell have you been hiding for the last couple of.... years?!

Interesting about the reliability rating... BIL hasnt had any issues with his that i know about 🤷‍♂️

2 from the week before my procedure.. the work van just after its slightly early (19,860km) 20k inspection i got this the next day. They claim the brakes are fixed this time.. found an issue with spring position causing binding. likely to be a design issue. see how long it lasts this time. And Missus Mac's Arona - i dont know why the photos have uploaded upside down...

youre lucky then :D Id still be checking the base of the antenna for water damage first though

does the the satnav show your car as being in the right place, or is it in the middle of the sea/ another contry? im guessing theres water after getting in to the connection base between the cable and the roof antenna

oh my good man, its not the end... the battery should survive after a charge, worst case scenario is a new battery. but.. your other issues remain - youre going to need to into the wires and start looking for damage

can you not climb over the centre console into the passenger seat to reach the bonnet release? didnt think the door needed to be open to pull it anyway?? wait.. is your car a pre or post face lift? because the bonnet release is on the drivers side - Right hand side - on my 2013 hatchback. and definitely works with the door closed

Next job - tackle those electrical gremlins..

you may have to hit the panel several times. fuel flap should be locked .. so, more evidence of the wiring failure. i dont know if theres a key barrel hidden in the passenger door

okay, definitely pointing towards wiring issue in the doordoor loom or a dead control module then. does the boot have a lock barrel on the estate? i cant remember

im also thinking you may have wiring loom issues in the door panel or the pipe between the the door and the car body. frayed/broken wire in there can cause a short or stop the door module communicating with the rest of the car

okay, that definitely says its not communicating with the car. so... do you drive the car much? is it possible the battery in your car has died? that the short move earlier was enough to flatten it. might explain the lack of comms. but.. given the key also wont unlock it, says to me the deadlock has stuck. try the following - key in the lock and turn it to unlock. while turning it, use the palm of your hand, or side of fist, to hit the door panel between the grab handle and the door edge. thats where the lock mechanism is located. could get lucky and loosen it enough to release manually.

are the indicator lights flashing on the car working though, when you press the fob buttons

Are you completely locked out? have you tried the boot? are they lights flashing when you hit the fob buttons? that sounds like a really unlucky case of the bcm/ecu losing its connection to the key. but if even manually turning wont do anything thats very odd

you might also post what the solution was in case anyone else pops up with the same issue in the future. you investigation and fix could be the help soneone else needs 👍
