  9. i think there is a minimum post count of 10 or 20 before your account releases a few extra things you can do. post editing maybe one of them? @ngood77 only have 5 currently according to your profile, so maybe try bumping that up by replying to some more threads to get to 20 (off topic section has plenty you can have a little moan or chuckle post about to help) then try editting one within the 60min window
  10. kicked back with an Uais whiskey, more mammy mac Christmas puding and cream, watching ep4 of Nine Perfect Strangers, which missus mac has said several dozen times since the start is "nothing like the book, this didnt happen".. but im enjoying it. oh and stove is running in "ideal" temp range, so im slowly baking at the same time.

im on leave this week as its midterm. the flood barriers for the town have been deployed, as the river is currently 2ft above road level inside the flood wall. 2 of the bridges in the town have been closed due to flooding around them, with another closed just outside the town. and... one of my colleagues on that tralee project lost "my" dual grade laser beacon to the wind today.. he instead had two half beacons, one half attached to a tripod lying o. the ground and the other half 5ft away... queue my boss looking for rentals to be sent to site in a serious hurry today (was copied on the emails )
  15. another recent one he did was a "manufacturer submitted challenge" of an unpickable lock which took him longer to unpack than pick...
  16. the old house alarm annoyed me yesterday, my own fault in a way, but still. had the moment of clarity that its nothing more than a 24/7 electrical parasite since we got the new monitored system installed, and doubly so since we got the windows replaced and i removed all the old sensors (that was fun in itself, bangin in the code everytime i snipped a sensor wire ) so yesterday i decided to kill it entirely. put the code in to make sure i was remembering it correctly before i was then gonna then ask my Fil to call over and be code man during the removal. but it gave a "tamper alert" error and started beeping, while counting down from 90. wouldnt take the code at all... so began some rapid decisions - headphones in to block the noise, out to the control box and pulled the mains fuse which started a new beeping. then cover off the control box and all hell broke loose.... disconnected the back up battery cables and shut up the internal noise but siren boxes still going ape**** outside. grab ladser and out we go - front of the house and uo the ladder, cover off and pull the battery, yank the siren wires out. then down and leg it around the back to do that box, but it was silent, thank god back up battery was dead.... but no... the box at the back was a fake! held to the wall with one long bolt through the centre! anyway, at least it all dead now and costing electricity anymore for nothing..
  17. can agree with J.R. ours is a Stira folding attic ladder, only "downside" is that you cant then insulate the loft side of the hatch cover as the ladder is there...
  18. irs a finger print scanner. what he is showing in all his videos is how easy it can be to defeat other people's locks they have put on their things.
  19. i know i and @Lady Elanore love LPL's content. for the middle bit of the venn diagram of fans of smart tech and locks.... you are idiots, 01288ce46e54cc3ebcbfa98d01cb9ffa.mp4
  20. check tge sealant around the windscreen for any signs of separation or delamination of the glass. i gave a memory of someone having a similar problem and it was a gap where the actual windscreen had started to fail letting water in
  21. lighter thinner springs is not about counter acting the weight increase of modern cars, its about cost reduction. thinner springs use less materials thus are cheaper. plus thinner "eco friendly" cheaper paint. also if the OP's mechanic bought cheap springs to do the replacement - unfortunately this is what happens
  22. CMFT must be stopped. Corey Taylor. part if the Adrenaline Workout playlist on Spotify while on here having a nibble after a run earlier in the milling rain and making lunches for tomorrow, before bed.
  23. i believe my hotel was booked today, i must check if theres a menu online. there is a pool though so i can at least clear my head each evening after a 12 hr shift..
  24. could also be low uptake (low ferretin) vit c helps with iron absorption, add that to your supplement list to reduce the rusty weewee losses
