  1. @roblatus ive stolen your whirlpool galaxy shot and sent it to a friend of mine who is also into amateur astronomy. he helped point me in right size direction for santa
  2. im already looking at Barlow lenses, camera adapters and possibly a clutched locking 3 axis mount to allow easier fine adjustment like a total station i got santa to go with this option as i figured it was better get a semi decent but not ridiculously expensive starter kit to hold attention better than a cheapy toy one that barely magnifies stuff in the garden... interest would vanish very quickly i think, whereas now he and i can have a proper go at a deeply interesting hobby
  3. nowt as fancy as the OP but.. santa brought Spud sr a Celestron 70mm compact telescope and lego! nipped out the back earlier to see how the sky was, pretty clear so did a rapid set up. . photo taken with my mobile held as still as i could to the 10mm eye piece. spud may have another new hobby!
  4. A dealer could give it to you from the VIN.
  5. im starting to think i should just give up on the idea of an uninterrupted nights sleep for about 10yrs... anyway, dragged myself out at 745 and went. it was baltic damp icy cold. did an 41m36 8k then straight in the shower to warm up and desweat...
  6. i think a 2.8l v6 furby would be great fun though
  7. i awoke on Friday to the sound of lashing rain and driving wind 5 mins before my alarm goes off... i reset it and rolled over. obviously i couldnt run over the weekend while on RnR.... yeah right... so today i took it handy with an 8.4km sub 43min tester run. everything still intact, no untoward damage or pain so i think im good to go 10 tomorrow
  8. well, i have a new full regulator Panel with cable sets ordered. mine is the front left door. go buy some rivnuts and m6 bolts next. then... start building up the courage to tackle it i have to say though, that rivetting the panel on has to be the stupidest way of doing that design?!?!
  9. thanks. i didnt realise the panel acted as the regulator too!! godamn it 🤦‍♂️😅 i thought it was just a metal panel instead of the plastuc sheeting they used on the mk1 which, while terrible in one way, was a lot more accessible for working through (as long as you took the time to re-seal it properly) thanks for the links, they may be getting another sale added to their listing
  10. i have to do this too at some point... did you use the rivnuts to put the door panel cover back on too? thats my main thing... i dont have a rivetter, and i dont feel like buying one for one job. that and i read somewhere here that the regulator rivet (i think) is a stainless steel one for the load it carries? maybe? its a while ago..
  11. definitely not the skin on skin friction is also annoying...
  12. oh my god the f#&$^g ITCHING!!!!!!!! its really starting to get a tad irritating.
  13. as above the dash panel surrounding the port is stupidly tight. bit of trimming (possibly both the dashboard and the dongle) and it will, with persuading, go in.
  14. there isnt an assist system its just a phrase im claiming i was actually helpful in fixing your car
  15. well done, im claiming an assist on it given i had suggested there wasnt a leak, that it was loss through the over pressure blowing out the expansion
  16. to be fair if thats the worst side effect of this... ive little to whinge about, given swmbo has literaaly had a headache for over 10months!
  17. full day later no pain and no meds taken, bit of mild discomfort around the front of my pelvis (like after banging your arm on a table..) the bloody itching from the shaving is worse! was out kickin a football around with spud sr earlier and no ill effects then either
  18. if there is anyone interested in any detail on the procedure let me know, im happy to share. i told one of my buddies earlier on i got it done today and he has asked a load of questions, as he and his wife were told a 3rd child could cause serious damage after the difficult births she has had. he had considered very briefly this option, but not in any great detail. he is now giving it a much more thorough consideration.
  19. 5+hrs since all done.. still no pain medication. im kinda walking from the knee just to minimise shuffling at hip level and taking it slow standing and sitting but otherwise grand.
  20. i have my sample pot and all ready for action in a couple of months. home now, no pain meds yet, just feels like.... someone gave them a slightly excited squeeze. a very dull throb. other than that nothing to report and the 90min drive home in traffic was fine
  21. "how long should i be waiting before tryin anything out?" "depends. see how your feeling, i mve had guys say the needed a week & a few have said they tried it out the same day, though they may have still been numb from the anaesthetic" i think ill wait a couple of days.
  22. Very odd, and yeah teying to make make sure i didnt do the incision for him in advance thanks Gaz, pretty sure my recovery will be a bit less involved and shorter than your hip op
  23. leaving shortly for it. things havnt been so smooth in 30yrs.... the chaffing will be awful by tuesday
  24. it may be the sensor under the seat. if there was something under it and it was wound down all the way to the lowest postion and got squashed it can throw an error, or dislodge the cable. it may be unrelated to the horn..
