Have you reset the tyres pressures? Did they come over inflated. Best check the Transport Blocks have been removed.
  2. True. There is no service guidelines, advice on servicing, schedule or specification. But people still service them. The oil can be for the life of the MCU or the box. If it stops working tomorrow that is its life, before manor work. The Clutch Packs are lifetime components as well. when shagged they are shagged. PS They can tell you if your DQ200 DSG required '34H5' and if it was done. Not that it matters if the box never cracked or the accululator did or the MCU leaked. its been going for 11 years.
  3. Where are you, Ireland? They can change both oils though. But if they do not want your money best avoid them. If they will not do it you could have them changed by an Automatic Gearbox Specialist. & a DSG reset of your DQ200. (They did change oils of ones 2009-2012 that were part of the Global recall.) Did your car ever get Service Campaign '34H5' which was started 2017 on some DQ200,w 2013-2015? That was a Software Update.
  4. Welcome. Read the T&C,s of the Warranty in your country. Likely the same as elsewhere around the world. Non factory approved hardware or software will invalidate the Warranty. In the case of a Chip / Tuning box that will be on the engine & even the gearbox.
  5. Not much of a RECALL if the car has to be getting serviced at Skoda Dealerships. No notifying keepers. More of a SKODA SECRET SERVICE SERVICE CAMPAIGN. Need to know basis and those that own or are keepers might never know if it was not for the Social Media / Forums. Par for the course with VW group.
  6. @Shelvock Have you received a letter from Skoda / VW UK recalling your car? Get the Dealership or Customer Services explain in writing what your car requires if they RECALLED it.
  7. Why allow them to potentially mess up your car with the software update & air flow device. They are getting paid, you get nothing. Your car runs OK, passes MOT,s. That is all that you want is it not. I am surprised that a 2016 car requires the VW Fix. It shouldn't.
  8. @Saneso Just out of interest are the new tyres like for like, Speed / Load rating and XL or not XL, and once fitted did you set the tyre pressures to your usual pressure you use?
  9. 'Never mind the length feel the width'. That saying has little to do with anything, but people that do not need big cars to carry passengers, or more than 2 might well have a small car to do longer trips. one back seat folded and room for 3 and stuff in the boot / rear. Or they have a small cars because they do need to park on streets and drive in towns and cities and do not need Family / Taxi size cars & Remember that there is is the 6.7 pence a kWh charging and then here will be those paying 10 times that amount or even more if they have to be using public charging. The Social Divide. 10,000 miles getting 4 miles a kWh, 2,500 kWh @ 60 pence a kWh £1,500. 10,000 miles getting 4.5 miles a kWh, 2,222 kWh @ 60 pence a kWh £1,333. 10,000 in a Petrol car getting 45 mpg. 222 gallons @ £6.15 a gallon £1,360. Looking forward to driving a Peugeot e-208 GTI. Overkill really for the UK considering the e-208 is pretty quick already. It will be more comparable with am Alpine A-290. Renault 5 EV has battery choices of 40 kWh or 52 kWh. Peugeot e-208 was a battery of 50 kWh then upgraded 2023 & these are 54 kWh. Gross. Centre Lock wheels Look, if visually impaired and you fail to spot 5 wheel bolts.
  10. @wyx087 Indeed. But a level 3, and within warranty or with an extended warranty. & One that has had the AC fixed as not wanting landed with not clearing the screen or an over £3,000 bill. Just the same with an ICE though.
  11. August 2026, 54 weeks @ £77.15 (Goes up in April.) £4.166. @wyx087 I do not want a New Car & certainly not a New EV. I want a pre 2024 MINI, Oxford built if an Electric. I do not want any new legislation stuff. Leather Seats as i have & sun roof, the most comfortable and correct position of any pedals and steering wheel i have ever had or driven. Not cloth and not Alcantara & no JCW suspension. Anything from 2021-203 really is OK control / screen wise . No piano black plastic exterior or interior. If i did really like an Abarth 600-e it would maybe make the annoying stuff bearable. What ever i get does have to have buttons to operate stuff and not just a screen and a few token buttons. & easy off Lane Keep assist and Speed Limit warnings.
  12. My sister uses a garage local to you and has done for years, but i do not know which. All the best, let them lead you.
  13. Can you not just say who your garage is? re, TDI,s. Mostely TDI water pumps were / are crap. Forget all that, you do not have a TDI, you said you need a water pump. There is nothing to do between your Water Pump leak and the Cam Belt. Other than you asked about having done. Well you decide, but have it inspected. It is for Karoq. But covered 1.0 & 1.4TSI / & ACT 1.5 TSI ACTS,s, TSI,s in various models of cars are covered by that same changes in 2023. Red Herring as far as your 2014 engine, have the belt inspected, maybe have a new belt and kit installed. Not a crazy price. At those that actually know which engine is which. Like Autohaus Edinburgh that i recommend. As long as you have a good mechanic / tech you should be fine, and guided by them. (That will not be any Edinburgh Main Dealers obviously... ) Greedy barstewards.
  14. @lol0000 If the range from 100% charge is not needed then no need to charge to that, but then really i can not see the issue, unless buying and owning as a keeper. ................. I want to buy and own a MINI Electric exactly as i am driving. For local / cheap use. I am paying £77.15 a week for the one i have, so will pay at least £4,200 over the next year before hand back in August if i do not extend lease. Which i doubt i would unless i knew something was going to be getting leased from October that i want. I can order a new car from May on but i do not think i will be doing that unless there is something very special on offer. If i returned to Motability and leave the scheme that is a £250 penalty i have to pay. Maybe not allowed on the scheme any time in the future, no issue there. I would like to buy the MINI i am driving but in a year it is unlikely the supplying dealer will buy it from Motability to sell to then sell it to me. I think they would if they did buy it want to price it as a Approved Used MINI. So that is after i pay £4,000 more. Price to buy unknown. I can buy one pretty much the same as the one i have now for £15,000 or less. That will be a lot less in 1 years time. I am just thinking just now what to do. Because i have seen a few of the ICE models that i want. So, Buying a 2023 5 door Cooper S 2.0 Petrol auto is what i am considering and having as a keeper, return the MINI and not spend the £4,000 on it. Later on if i still want an Electric one i can buy when the prices are really right down. Just waiting to see what will be will be. I have not driven a Abarth 600-e yet, & am waiting for the Peugeot e-208 GTI just out of interest. An Abarth might just be what would suit me, and maybe in a year there will be ones that dealers are desperate to get sold. ................... New MOT on BMW but there are advisories i knew about and it needs some spending on if keeping, or even selling. No rush though.
  15. Have who ever does the water pump (leaking) check visually the Cam belt. Yes VW / Skoda changed advice on cam belts 9 years after your car was built, but that was because people were not being conned anymore by the 5 year / 50,000 mile guidelines, advice, schedule, spec, con if Not Dust Rich UK. People were trading in 1.5 TSI ACT,s and not paying the £850- £1,200 they were being quoted and Dealers were not wanting landed doing it to sell with FMDSH.
  16. Charge Place Scotland. http://chargeplacescotland.org/transition-resource-hub/ The changes are starting but it is dragging out over the next 2 years. They can keep on messing up for a while yet then.& Milking the tax payers.
  17. 3rd episode on tonight. @8pm. The first 2 were brilliant IMO. Tonight a Ford Escort RS1600i. What as skilled team they are. 30 workers.
  18. What service is it actually due? Were the spark plugs changed at 4 years / 40,000 miles. Was the pollen filter changed last year. Has the brake fluid been changed. Has the Air Filter ever been looked at let alone changed? If on a Fixed Service regime it was due the Oil & Inspection Service & Extended Scope @ 3 years and the same again at 5 years. Has it been serviced to that?
  19. @ElviraKate Best say what engine the car has. If getting a water pump and the cam belt has no record of being changed then getting it done seems simply cleaver. Even if a TSI and not a TDI. Did they not give a price for the work? I can recommend Autohaus Edinburgh.
  20. I have 245/35R 20 Y95 front and 275/30R 20 Y97 rears on my BMW. But when I kerb an alloy it really gets kerbed. As for tyres, £110 each fitted. Just for added excitement in the wet.
  21. @MURVAG82 Have you got a whole and complete replacement before going and removing, maybe breaking the one you have?
  22. Is an Indicator Unit included in an Extended Warranty, or a Battery. Get in Writing from Marshal or Skoda UK Customer Services Contractor the T&C,s of the All in Service plan warranty. Dealing with the various 'People' without the answer is a total PITA. With Skoda Approved Extended Warranty there used to be a nice commission for the employee signing you up. That must be gone. Or they want that for being of no actual help.
  23. Was the car new in 2023 with a 3 years manufacturers warranty and an Extended Warranty bought for another 2 years? Or when was the car first registered, how old in 2023? EDIT. Looking at your profile is the car a 2020 & out of Warranty 2023? Was it a Skoda Approved used car or not but with a 1 year warranty and you paid extra to have 2 years? What is the expiry date of the Marshals Warranty? IS IT DECEMBER 2025? Who is that Warranty with? The underwriter / company? How many miles on the car and what servicing does it need. What was done when 4 years old?
  24. ^^^ True, Nobody is ever going to be doing it as fast and cheaply as you as you zoom along singing a song, pays your money and uses your fuel.
  25. @dieselV6 So no need to buy new then. Plenty low mileage used about that will suit you. & as far as 500,00 miles in 25 years, there are TESLA,s that have done that in under 10 years and with free Super Charging and that are still going and charging for free.
