2015 Octavia DSG and other faults .. very confusing
? Was the Car / DQ200 DSG one of those that from 2017 were part of the Service Campaign '34H5'. ? Those were from 2013-2015. It was a Software Update as a measure against the possible pressure / heat issues and cracks, leaks and also failure of an accumulator. PS. I see you are in Australia. That was a RECALL and has been repeated 3 times. As to the plugging in of the MCU, did you fit another MCU not just a ECU? What was it off of?

Trying to make an informed decision ?????
I did wonder why the thread was here and reported it as in the Wrong Forum as surely it is a General Automotive Chat Section type thread or a Tyre Section thread. Looks like it is the title that needs change if it is a AI generating unreliable info thread.

Octavia PHEV v Cupra Born
Reports now of those having issues due to few events of the engine firing up or firing up cold and not running for long or even getting up to the good operating oil temperature. Going with a Fixed Oil & Filter change regime is just 'Simply clever'. But the vehicle might have covered under 10,000 miles but the engine not doing very much of the powering over the miles.

New or improved hubs announced, Government EV Loans in Scotland and free & no longer free public charging places..
@wyx087 Drop Off Only was painted there before an chargers were put there and just left. Knowing when offpeak is and what the tariff is if they are for the public to use would be very useful. No wucking furries really as not using them for slow charging but if installed using public money and they should be giving free charging for 2 years i will find out. There is a shortage of AC chargers within the town.

Rear seatbelt alarm ‼️
No new regulation or the likes. Personally seat belts are fastened for the MOT and still fastened to the next MOT unless a passenger is going in the rear. If there is the seat being used that is why i get a warning if not belted up. Seat belts fastened can be used to try keeping messages / shopping maybe cracking my skull in the even of an accident.

I was only there to get a will certified. Where there is a Will there is a way. But, nobody in the Sheriffs office or the Council office receptions could enlighten me about the chargers and if Angus Council Employees / fleet only. My searching since getting home have failed to find who funded them or any info. For the banter visiting the courts is a laugh hearing the nonsense of people with their solicitors or defence lawyer in the entrance & foyer. So many just turning up to be told nothing happening today, reports not ready, witnesses not there etc etc. Plenty police about ready to be called and not needed.

Forfar Sheriff court. 2 AC posts/ 4 sockets. An off peak button. Only issue. Can't find any info on tariffs or who it is paying to. Not showing ElectroVerse, CPS, zapmap or plugshare. Just the strange kind of thing that is quite normal. I will check out later when home. It I get bail...

Fabia-III 1.2 TSI , Buying advice... ?
What actual Servicing and maintenance has been done. Is there a record of, Replaced spark plugs twice, brake fluid at least once. the Air filter replaced, the pollen filter any time in the past 2 year. Does it drive well?

Skoda Fabia (2021) servicing intervals question
'Full Service.' When was there such a thing from Skoda. You pay extras to get Brakes serviced, brake fluid changed, Air Filter, Pollen Filter, AC Service etc. The Bottom Fixed Price menu was up till 2019 when they went with the pay for extra consumables. In the days just 6 years back and before, if on Variable / Flexible servicing and not fixed so 24 months / 18,000-20,000 miles they were Charging for a Major Service even though no plugs, or fuel filter or Airfilter. The 2nd Variable Service was actually a Major. Or if on Fixed it was Minor / interim & major time about and still the 2nd service was just as the first but with a Pollen filter. Many were ripped right off.

Gearbox in emergency mode
It is owners that needs to get a class action going in which ever country. Probably a waste of time as far as EU Countries against VW. In Australia they have the Lemon Law and in Canada or North America VW would get ripped to shreds. Are VW, Audi Boxes not failing in North America, or even South America. They are in NZ & Australia.

Engine oil
Why would it drink oil? You used the correct oil for a TDI & a Fixed Service Regime or Long Life, Variable / Flexible servicing. Just it is supposed to be to the VW 504 00 / 507 00, so 5w 30 FS III.

Which is the best form of transport for commuting to and from work, car or bus?
Yes sound about right for some. There will be more low ground places flooding. New places need building. Labour says today training 60,000 builders. London might have 8 million but Scotland had less than 6 million in a country with 5 cities. Covering a large area. Places and people are not all the same. England needs to clean up their act.

Which is the best form of transport for commuting to and from work, car or bus?
Hurrah for choices or those that can choose. Hurrah for where there is proper planning and if traffic is to be reduced in towns or cities the public transport can suit all sorts including night workers or the night time entertainment industry employees. Trains and busses that run late and there are connections. Park and rides where in the location that suits people make sense. They should be where there are the Services like a Doctors, Fire & Emergency Services, Police & any other essentials. A Wind turbine or 3, solar and battery storage, a substation and EV charging & hydrogen production. Low carbon transport areas. Like is going just on the outskirts of Perth and elsewhere in Scotland eventually.

Is this site dead?
What i wonder about the UP! forum is, is there lots of posts about how very good and reliable they are. Surely by now if there are common issues they were covered in the past 14 years so many times.

Which is the best form of transport for commuting to and from work, car or bus?
I bet there must be commuting cyclists among train drivers. After all 7-11 hour shifts not very physically demanding as far as exercise. They might leave the Porsche at home. So the title and then the video is it, it is all about the answer being take the car. Well if you have one that is and if your journey suits that. "(Assuming parking was not a problem.") or an additional expense!. It all gets very specific and not general to many 'typical work places'. My Uncle Ben was a driver or engineer on the Edinburgh Night train back when i was a child. I suppose he walked to work and home as he never had a car. Unless maybe busses were running at that time back in the 1960,s.

Which is the best form of transport for commuting to and from work, car or bus?
Location location location. There are Cities in Scotland and probably in the RoUK where there are Bus lanes and the travel is quicker by bus than by car into or out of a city. Then there is the issue of parking if no workplace parking or Free to Park, so another expense. Hence 'Park & Rides.' Park out of town free and travel in & out on Public Transport. ? How do bus drivers travel to work, or train drivers? Maybe some use Public Transport...

Skoda Kodiaq I Facelift 2023 2.0L TDI 150PS 2 years of use. Issues and problems (nothing crazy)
Welcome to the forum. There is a MAX and a MIN and no 'Fill to this line' marker. The MAX fill up can sometimes drop and self level. That is a good place to mark with a marker & where many cars stay at till the next service or fill up then back to setting it's own level. But dropping to MIN needs diagnosed as to the source of the leak.

The £3 bus fare cap where available in England must be a help for some. Especially those that can not drive which could be quite a lots of people, maybe even that have a 'Typical 24 mile commute....' £6 a day...Return. But only if it is a single bus used. £3 national bus fare cap - GOV.UK.mhtml
