  1. @Avocet The DSG is a 40,000 miles Schedule, they do not use the word Schedule. it is not a 4 year old by Guidelines, Recommendations or Schedule. I would get back in touch with them to check, That might be the price of the DSG Oil change and the Haldex Service. Have you had the Haldex Serviced? Was it done at 3 years or 30,000 miles. It used to be @ 4 years, 40,000 miles years back then it came down to 3 years and 30,000 miles or sooner. Needs properly done, not just the oil changed. There are threads on Briskoda about DQ381 servicing and the 80,000 miles. Various info comes from Main Dealerships on that one.
  2. Surely Haymarket Media group which owns publications like What Car, Auto Car & Pistonheads and also has a financial interest in an Engine Analytics company will be having Tests carried out now with fuels on sale now and with Euro 6 petrol cars. The same company does research and tests for the UK Government. Getting the actual figures on emissions with vehicles running E10 95 ron Unleaded or E5 Super Unleaded, some of which do not have even up to 5% Bio. It would be interesting to know which fuels have how much Bio in them now, and regional differences around the UK.
  3. Guest_ replied to Ianhudson's topic in Skoda Enyaq
I would have asked if there was any impractical difference. Has anything changed that is a 'simply clever' feature, previously fitted and now a euro or 3 too expensive to go have as standard.
  4. What a horrible application of a sticker next to the L.
  5. @lol-lolLess 1.6% of the additional 5% if there is an extra 5% is it not?
  6. The beauty of having a car with whatever engine and what ever DSG is you can just go drive it. See what it does rather than thinking too much about it. Do double kickdowns, maybe put it in manual 1st and then floor it without changing gear and see if it changes up, or begs you too. I have been doing that for 12 years with them in different cars. Usually not with ones that i own, first try it with borrowed / hire ones.
  7. Autohold can be switched on but it need not be actuated, that depends on how hard you press the brake pedal, you can crawl along in D or S and then touch the brake just lightly to stop and not have Autohold then activeted. How much engine braking is available even with a 3 cylinder 1.0 TSI / DSG is easily felt. Just drop a gear or 2 when on a descent.
  8. Welcome. What miles have they done. Skoda Main Dealer Histories are great, they can show what got done or was not done. Was it Oil & Filter Changes and Pollen, and much else carried out before 3 years or since 3 years? Other than these biggies like belt and clutch. Check any Warranty work that is on the System for Skoda and Servicing & Maintenance.
  9. I am seriously interested if any EU or Continental European country have put into law in that country anything about GB stickers and UK stickers and what the penalty is for not displaying them in their country. Is the legislation now part of Law if they have legislated. Is there advice, guidelines or rules now with their Police Officers or relevant authorities?
  10. A car reviewer /journalist who happens to be a Briskoda member & that tells it like he sees it. IMO he should be supported by those that likes what he is doing with reviews.
  11. @VanwinWelcome to the forum. It really does look like you have the wrong vehicle for your usage and location. ? Was there some reason that you did buy the car that you have? You might not lose too much selling it and getting something more suitable engine wise, but is the cars size important?
  12. BRISKODA is a place where it is good to gauge how people are getting on with the cost of Service & Maintenance and the longevity of parts. If it were true that people only go to complain or talk about failures and faults then there are not that many common ones with Mk3 Fabia yet. They were first at Dealerships as Demonstrators late 2014 to early 2015. Then in the hands of private and fleet owners. There are discontinued engines since launch with the 1.2 TSI and 1.4TDI and the introduction of 1.0TSI's and 1.0TSI's with GPF's. The Hatch has had a short production run. It does look like Mk3's are going to do rather well as a keeper for people that got one new or have bought a used one. Battery life / longevity might be a recurring theme.
  13. vRS Derv burner. Trim / spec really, sporty looks. Oil fuel oil lubricant / coolant. Really they are not that fussy what engine oil goes in as long as the correct spec. Now if someone is tracking their TDI they might want to be more fussy.
  14. The issue really is where people get information which is the media and their casual use of words like 'Law', Rules, Guidelines. Lack of clarity if there are 'Laws' and Offences, and the Government are no help there with pointing out what 'Law' it is and in which countries. http://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/news/local-news/vehicle-sticker-warning-issued-uk-5991270
  15. Skoda where the ones that said there was to be the higher suspension option with the Kamiq and the the Car Magazines printed that. But Auto Express will print anything regardless of it going to come to pass in the UK. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/487938-driving-mode-selection-with-adaptable-15mm-suspension Maybe the journalist co-ck up was the standard height then the lower 'Sports' height. Same thing with the Scala. Extra height. So people might well have expected it not to be in some countries only. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/473985-15mm-higher-ground-clearance *** This is the issue with Skoda UK and configurators and taking what you see & read as going to be what you get.***
  16. A member with a Citigo had their tank punctured and that was bore dangerous taking petrol out. Not advised while they are having a joint. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/430385-fuel-stolen-new-trick-vulnerable-sump
  17. There is the more excessive drifting or pulling left as is common with Mk2 Fabia. So there are threads down this page or the last on pulling left, and also drivers of left hand drive cars with pulling right issues. There are members there that have resolved the issues that caused their problem. Just search briskoda fabia mk2 pulling left. To see if more extreme than it should be go to a flat car park and try letting the car drive straight without steering imput, that takes the camber of a UK road out of the equation. You just have a 'handed' car then.
  18. Exactly my point. Autohold off, e-Brake / parking brake then on rear brakes and you then switch off the Parking Brake. Just as you would if you needed to push the car, or service the brakes. Different Buttons on Different Vehicles, but it is the e-Brake / Parking brake you are not having on when parked, no point in touching the Autohold other than for Enabling or disabling.
  19. It could be average if some last 2 years and some last 12 years. Averages are just that But the oldest Mk3's are 7 years old so how can we know yet. ? Have you had the car from new and are the only driver? or know how the car is driven when you are not in it? Plenty Mk2 Fabia from 2008 will be on original dampers and Mk3's with higher miles. Location, location, locations as in Speed Bumps and are there many and does the driver slow for them.
  20. 'Autohold' should not be on / acting on the brakes when you have switched off the ignition, unfastened your seat belt and opened the drivers door. It is the e-Brake you need to have off incase of freezing. That is the rear brakes unlike 'Autohold; which has all the brakes held by the calipers / pads.
  21. Welcome. What service history has it got now? When was it last serviced. Showing invoices / receipts for work done. Look at the air filter, what is it like, clean? Pollen Filter? When was the Fuel filter changed if done yet? If no brake fluid changed test it. ..................... The Local Motor Factor would be a good place to get Service Parts, the Super Market a good place for VW504 00 / 507 00 oil. or a trusted seller. Skoda Dealers Parts Desks sell stuff, http://opieoils.co.uk is a Briskoda Sponsor. You need to decide if you want to leave oil to 18,000-20,000 miles between oil & filter services or do that sooner. The oil is Long Life Oil. So fixed @ 9,400 miles / 372 days or Variable and 18,000-20,000 or sooner, but services / checks pre and post winter, pre MOT etc. This is the Guidelines / Recommendations.
  22. @pricey42uk Does the FSH show anything done other than Oil & Filter and a pollen filter change? If you use a Skoda Main Dealership to do the Haldex Service and they do it for the price you need to ask if they are going to do more than v just change the oil. If they say that is all that is required and they check with the Master Tech then i would not let them near the car.
  23. Welcome. Has the Haldex been serviced properly with the pump / filter cleaned, due at 3 years and maybe even before 30,000 miles, certainly before 4. The Prop Shaft coupling will need inspected as well.
