Hopefully the motoring journalist / Editors & Publishers of Online pages will be asking VW UK & Skoda, Audi & SEAT's Brand Directors, CEO or whoever if the Recall Action will be put into action in the UK sooner rather than later. That would be contacting all Registered Keepers of the vehicles that could be affected and it is not just being a 'Voluntary Recall' and a Service Campaign where unless the car is into a Dealership or the driver / owner complains they are not made aware of what a Manufacturer calls a 'RECALL'. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions SSSSC's. = Skoda Secret Service Service Campaigns. Tell only those that need to know and the last person to need to know is a driver / owner and the 2nd last is the Call Handler / Receptionists at Skoda UK Customer Services or a Dealership Service Desk. Loose Lips means people might want their car booked in and fixed.

Skoda CZ and their parent company VW Group are the biggest threat to Skoda. The poor Quality Control and releasing vehicles for sale with functions that have faults, glitches or that are not yet fit for use is an issue. Maybe the Motoring Press & Journalists should be asking questions of the CEO's, Brand Directors and Board of Management of VW UK. Buying & driving older Skoda really is 'Simply Clever'.

With so many of the newest VW Group vehicles including new Skoda having Software Issues it is really worth a thread of it's own. So report it to the dealership, let the Master Tech drive the car and tell you it is OK and just a trait. Maybe try driving another 5 year old wet clutch DSG car and see if it has the same trait. Plenty 6 DSG's are smooth down the gears and 2nd to 1st. (DQ200 7 Speed Twin Dry Clutch DSG's are a whole different matter, some might be smooth and some are cluncky.)

There is an explanation for the UK 5 year 50k miles recommendation. Skoda UK / VW Group forced Dealerships to have modern exteriors to buildings and fancy looking showrooms and comfortable places to sit while the customer gets ripped off. The Dealerships can not just stay busy doing 'Recall Actions', Warranty Work, Emissions Fixes etc they need paid work doing Services & Maintenance work.

@Blairyc Take it back to the dealer. You have a warranty, report your concerns, and it is not a trait or behaviour that the brains at VW Engineering designed into the DSG. Has the car done 64,000 and odds km (40,000 miles) and had the DSG Serviced with an oil change?

@Schtum Memories ya hoor sir. I went to Elmwood College & stayed in Cupar with the young farmers from around Scotland, young sheperdess's etc and we raced around Ffe in quick cars at the time of AM CB's and the time of the Black Puddinbg Incident. Then i stayed at Tarvit Hill and worked at the Car Parts shop in Cupar. Every night was race night. So that is how things are really now for some in a parallel universe of fantastic unclassified roads with no other road users where a modified car is required to nip on safely and where bigger than standard brakes are a must and change the factory settings. Others just get on and drive those roads with what ever car they happen to be in but then they are just mortals and not driving gods. Very few Yeti venture on track other obviously then one of the quickest Yetis which was rather modified.

Then when was the Air Filter last looked at and replaced if needed? When was the fuel filter last replaced?

@Karock That is not ABS, it is TC ( ASR) Traction Control (Anti Slip Regulation) as was called. Then there is ESP (ESC) Electronic Stability Programme. (Electronic Stability Control.)

So what does the Lease Contract Conditions say? Have you checked prices near to where you are? If it is just an Oil & Filter Service required @ a VAT Registered Garage using OEM parts then great. Is the car on Variable / Flexible servicing so just needs a Service @ 18,000 to 20,000 miles / 24 months? Strange it is a low mileage and 2 years old in June and asking for a Service now, or does it say Oil Service due in 400 miles. ? Was the car maybe PDI'd in January 2019 so on Variable Servicing from then, or has it had some servicing already? £179 was a price that was on 3-10 year old cars on Fixed Service Intervals. so @ 9,400 miles / 372 days or sooner. The Major Service was more like £289. Some might do that, or do it for less. There is a new Fixed Price Menu at Participating Dealers.

@DarmThey change only one because they get away with that. Not with me though, i have had them replace a pair of springs under warranty when the Master Tech was only supporting a claim for replacing the broken one. The car would have been blocking the Dealership Entrance with a Big Sign on it and balloons attached and a photograph sent to the local papers.

@Darmsome have misting for years and are on a Service Advise or MOT Advisory annually. You are as well to change it then since your car is at a garage so regularly. ? Any reason you are not doing Oil & Filter changes on a Variable servicing interval so 18,000-20,000 miles and just doing visual inspections regularly between Oil Changes?

@stuberto82 Is this using a key in the key holes and not a remote fob with the press the button once, or button twice unlocking facility. What age of car, what trim level?

@fox2319 Did you get that in writing from someone @ Skoda UK and have their name and job title? They really do make it up as they go along.

@Darmhow often in months are 10,000 mile services coming around with your car used as a Taxi?

@Sc0tt Are there no Autobox specialists near you that can rebuild / recondition your DSG?

VW Group / Skoda rushed out vehicles not actually ready so that they have the low Average Co2 g/km figures to save them paying the penalty if not meeting what they require. Do not allow Skoda / VW Group to be costing you any money and time while they are responsible for selling goods not fit for purpose.

Good, & good luck, but as well as reporting to the Dealership to be passed on to Skoda and on the system put a report / list to Skoda UK in writing , who are the Importer and responsible for the Manufacturers Warranty and the Warranty work being done by your agent & their Approved Repairer which is the Dealership. Then they can not say 'Never heard of this before'. Well they can because they are Sales People and clerks and call centre staff, but then Skoda CZ need to know and act on the Fundamental Design, Manufacturing, or Materials, Hardware or Software.

The Heat Pump works very well on the PSA Group EV's, they all have it.

@wyx087Hilly places are fandabydozzy for gaining energy so range. It is damn accurate when you are about to run out of charge and have to switch everything off, go into ECO and draft a lorry or bus. Issue with Coaches is they are going a bit too quick. When you are losing 1% for each mile covered it is simply to know when you are at a squeeky bum moment. Just now 10% to 98% took 1 hour and 25 minutes and was free.

@Scot5 re the Euro5 1.4 TSI 132-136 Twinchargers (mentioned in the Kodiaq RS thread) which I know quite a lot about having owned and worked on them. I owned one of the first demonstrators in the UK and there are a few members here that have owned the first ones including the 'press cars'. I know the cars and know the history of some. They are actually still on the road and with the original engines. That is pretty good considering of the just under 3,000 Skoda Twinchargers in the UK registered it is over 20 % that have had engines replaced and some have required the replacement engine replaced.
