Just inspect it for any change in appearance over the next year or so. I wouldn't worry particularly, unless changes are visible.

8Nm + 45° turn may well equate to something close to 17Nm. Torque plus angle is just a more accurate means of getting a given pre-tension in a fastener. Working out theoretical equivalence is tricky, because friction is so dominant, and unpredictable, in traditional torque-only specs.

Discs (front) are 288mm, PR-code 1ZE, current part number for genuine discs is 5Q0615301H. Front pad set has current genuine part number 5K0698151B.

First engine problem noticed yesterday afternoon. Took it for a dual carriageway and motorway run to clear out some cobwebs, and even after 45 minutes the indicated coolant temperature still hadn't climbed past 70°C. Stat is tucked behind/below alternator, so not a 10 minute job. Have asked the garage doing the MOT to quote for it, but expect it's going to be too much, so will probably DIY. Amusingly, staring at the engine looking for stat location was the first time I'd realised that the engine is a different way round to what I'm used to; longitudinal.

Nope. NJ as characters 7 & 8 of VIN does indeed mean it's a Mk3.

It's mine now. I got the rear brakes done today. Thought for a little while I wasn't going to get the new discs in without taking the carriers off, but managed it with a bit of bodgery. 😁 MOT booked for Thursday.

Pre-cat oxygen sensor is wideband; so if anything, I'd expect that one to be steady mid-swing most of the time and the post-cat binary one to flick between lean and rich values.

Those suit the BMD (6-valve) rather than BME, according to the catalogue. These are the suggested ones, bottom 4 part numbers are all options for BME: All BME ones except the economy one are superseded by 101 905 617C, but it doesn't say anything about them.

Unlikely. You need to have a diagnostic scan done, to see why the light has come on. Any action before that is just guesswork, which can prove expensive and fruitless.
