  1. Hi, discontinued just over a year ago by Skoda, but try here, they claim it's possible to order: https://www.lllparts.co.uk/search/6Q2612041AJ
  2. What about one that's partially blocked up with sludge?
  3. Yes, could be level sensor fault.
  4. Driver's side mirror adjustment doing both is deliberate/normal. Idea being that if there are two drivers with rather different seat positions, the mirrors can be adjusted to suit both forward and rearward positions rapidly. No idea on the folding problem, but wire damage at A-pillar bellows always a possibility.
  5. And they'll find it, I feel sure. 😁
  6. Part number as per this listing: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/196403837786 May be convenient to just buy one from them, it's a Skoda dealer?
  7. Or just do what your parts guy suggests. If you don't use it, there's no point in having that pulley spinning.
  8. I think it is generally visible from the outside on steel wheels, close to the wheel bolt holes, but on inside for alloys. If you share your reg number or VIN with me I can find the answer for you.
  9. Crankshaft sensor is likely to be a lot lower on the engine. Crankshaft is near the sump.
  10. On such a complex engine, I imagine you're more likely to introduce a problem doing the work than prevent one. Do these chains ever cause trouble? @Ootohere will know.
  11. Front left means as experienced when sitting in the car facing forward, so actually on your right as you stand looking into the engine bay from in front of the car. I think the four-way connector pair or the alternator connector are the most likely areas to find damage.
  12. DFM wire is pin 2 of the two-way connector at the alternator, a blue/white wire. It goes from there to pin 1 of a four-way connector pair 'front left in engine compartment', then continues on to the engine ECU pin 65, blue/white all the way.
  13. Why did I get a groan reaction!?
  14. Probably, I can't remember it being difficult.
  15. Easier, but still not easy, from below, I think. USB endoscope-type camera can be helpful.
  16. I'd be trying to bypass the EGR cooler to rule that out before anything else.
  17. That's a photo of the back of the engine, taken when not in vehicle. Voids are the intake ports.
  18. Strange. That seems in direct contradiction to the fault code above. Even if the relay is faulty, that code doesn't make sense to me, if the supply to relay contact is present.
  19. No, not camshaft sensor: crankshaft sensor, much harder to access sadly. Vertically below throttle body, mounted in engine block, 'looking' at back of flywheel.
  20. Probably easier to undo and withdraw the sensor from the outside/rear of backing plate, and examine that way.
  21. Near crank sensor connection or the wiring to it would be my highest priority.
  22. I don't know. I think you should look for other similar damage elsewhere in the engine bay.
