  1. The rectangle just below the wheel cylinder in this image. (Ignore the red-ringed bits, they were illustrating the 'glide pieces' which the shoes rest against.)
  2. Because the wheel speed sensor pokes into the drum through the backplate, to point at the inner face of wheel bearing.
  3. Also, you found a loose bit kicking around in the drum at one point, I seem to remember? That could have collided with sensor head, perhaps?
  4. Check the wiring near the sensor connectors, could easily have been damaged while freeing wheel cylinders/brake pipes/bleed ripples if you weren't aware of their presence.
  5. No, if you've been that thorough with the strip fuse no need to do more. It's just such a common cause of ABS light on this platform that it's not worth doing anything else first, unless you have fault codes pointing at a speed sensor. Find that scan tool.
  6. If you're certain (they sometimes crack so imperceptibly that only undoing the nuts makes it evident when they fall into two pieces); then I'd imagine you've knocked and damaged a rear sensor or wiring to one whilst doing the brake work. Check the side you changed the cylinder on first. Did you remove hubs/bearings while changing shoes, or work around them?
  7. Check the fuse, please!
  8. Intermittently.
  9. No problem, I quite understand, even though I'm a lot smaller. Got any children you could invite to help or coerce?
  10. Yes, that looks like the right wire, I expect. Test it for 12V unplugged, as shown in photo
  11. Glad you finally got your MOT. 👍 Check strip fuses in fuseholder above battery, I think ABS will be position no. 4 in your car. Cracking of the metal strip often causes ABS light. Could also be a wheel speed sensor (which point at the inner face of the wheel bearings), but most often it's the strip fuse. All UK market Fabias have ABS as far a I'm aware.

  13. Isn't that a fuel injector connector, rather than a spark plug/coil connector??
  14. Yes, that sounds like where I'd expect it to be. No idea how easy/difficult access is, sorry.
  15. Next thing then is to check that gets to pin 73 of the black 73-way connector on the BCM. It's a red/yellow wire.
  16. Fuse 8 in the fuseholder under the bonnet is likely to be the problem.
  17. Correct. On your engine it will happen internal to the cylinder head, by valve overlap, rather than via an external device and pipes, I think. No, it's the charge air cooler.
  18. I don't see anything in the parts catalogue to suggest that a DLAC engine has an EGR valve. I think the green ring you've drawn contains a charge air cooler?
  19. What's your engine code, please? Or VIN if you don't know.
  20. I'm confused by your references to EGR valve. I don't think there is any such device on your engine?
  21. Cylinder numbering is correct.
  22. No problem. Ignition coil fuse removed, cranked without starting, obviously. Approx 2 seconds before anything registered on the rpm/tacho dial but then it climbed to a realistic number.
  23. I can (on a 2005 mk1 Fabia HTP/12V) later today, will have to remove a fuse for ignition coils or something, to prevent it starting. Usually start pretty instantly so may not be able to see otherwise.
  24. Lack of rpm indication suggests an electrical problem. Check all fuses for corrosion, one by one.
  25. From VIN, your original front springs are 5Q0411105GN, and rears 3Q0511115AK.
