  1. Hello Wight Love the IoW - very fond memories of taking the kids over when the were little 😎 Gaz
  2. Likewise If the tyre referred to is the front one we can see in the photo's, from what little I can see of it, it looks intact and does not appear to have left the rim. Without knowing other circumstances or factors, it's unfortunate the car couldn't be brought to a controlled stop on what looks to be a good road. I don't know how insurance works in India, but in the UK I wouldn't expect Third Party insurance to cover the repair, or more likely write-off. Gaz
  3. Here's the pic from Natalie's attachment: Gaz
  4. Experiment no.2 - record a noisy sparrow and play it back to him: IMG_9193.mov Mr Sparrow was not amused and got quite intense 😂 I did wonder if he might come down for a scuffle, but I seem to have gotten away with it. G
  5. I've been doing important stuff this afternoon Challenge no.1 - get a hoverfly and tortoise in the same photo: Task completed ✅ Gaz
  6. Late to the party, but just to say we have the same DQ200 DSG in our Polo. We've had the car seven years, it's at 51,000 miles, the DSG has not been serviced (nor will it be) and has been faultless throughout. Gaz

Hello mdj82 Nice looking facelift Mk2 😎👍 Gaz
  8. Hello Cojuuk , from another south coaster. Gaz
  9. I.e. so badly damaged that it's no longer recognisable as a Hyundai i30 😁 and someone slapped Seat badging on it 😇 Go on, admit it, y'all knows I'm right
  10. Okay, so it's not technically a car 🙄 But I spotted this little tonka toy at my local Mercedes this afternoon: And I want one 😎 (Quite possibly more than the A110 ) Gaz
  11. Hyundai i30 (Law of averages says I'm gonna be right at some point ) Gaz
  12. Not as directly as you've been asked, but I've agreed to have my licence scanned prior to taking test drives, so as others have pointed out, they have my DoB by default. Gaz
  13. Hello and welcome Natalie Gaz
  14. FAFO and quite bizarre 🤷‍♂️ He stayed longer than I would have.
  15. It's that time of year (again)!!! 😁: Before: During: After: Not perfect, but they're six years old now, and live outside. I like shiny Gaz
  16. The Sprint Yellow vRS was my previous car. To be fair I rarely drive with economy in mind; I try to be good, but lose interest quite quickly I've had some economical-ish cars, but now, as Cyndi Lauper once said, 'Boys jus' wanna have fun!' 😇 G
  17. Hello lebronix and welcome along. Gaz
  18. Hello Steeble Good looking vRS 😎 - my last car was a Mk3 vRS of the TSI variety; a car I enjoyed owning very much. Gaz
  19. Hello and welcome Ian Gaz
  20. Don't change into reverse at 60mph - sounds like good advice to me Welcome aboard the good ship Brisky. Gaz

Hello Monty, and welcome to Brisky We seem to have a nicely growing contingent of antipodean chums 👍 Gaz
  22. I have a 230 DSG on a 2018 plate, albeit in a Golf GTI. Long term average (30k miles) is 34.2mpg. Last tank was 41.1mpg with a run up to Stratford-upon-Avon and back. My previous car was a 220 vRS DSG, mapped to just North of 300bhp. Long term (25k miles) average was 29.5mpg (lot of urban htw 4 mile journeys), and best tank, post mapping, was 42.4mpg. I did used to have to be good with my right foot if I wanted to eke out the mpg. Gaz

Hello Scott Bit of a change from a Santa Fe - what spec. Mk4 did you go for? Gaz

Cheerio GP Doesn't take many lemons to put you right off, does it. I'm considering the idea of my next car, and it most likely won't be VAG. Gaz
