  1. My brain hurts 😐 I've read stuff online, I've watched YT and I still don't know. I'm trying to connect a Hitachi VCR to my Sony Bravia KD-49XF9005 TV. I've seen one video of someone doing it with a coax aerial lead. I've joined the VCR to the TV with Coax, but I can't work out for the life of me how to tell the telly to look at the Coax input plug 🙄 I've seen that I can go from scart (VCR) to an HDMI adapter and then from that to an HDMI input on the TV. I've also read this won't work due to format issues. I've also read I can go from scart to a three point RCA block (I've already got these 👍) but I'll then need to use a Sony specific adapter cable to go from three RCA's to the single 3.5mm socket that the TV has: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Video-Component-Adapter-Cable-Replacement/dp/B08B84KCR2/ref=pd_ci_mcx_mh_mcx_views_0?pd_rd_w=R1Xrz&content-id=amzn1.sym.6aea875e-359f-49f3-864f-cff62d586b6a%3Aamzn1.symc.ca948091-a64d-450e-86d7-c161ca33337b&pf_rd_p=6aea875e-359f-49f3-864f-cff62d586b6a&pf_rd_r=6VBG0JWAF3Q599HJSAEH&pd_rd_wg=67rHa&pd_rd_r=62d6e415-eb79-4a7a-8875-e18f7a74e7ad&pd_rd_i=B08B84KCR2 Anyone know for sure what'll work? Ta Gaz
  2. I really must try harder to contain my imagination 😜
  3. Given it's a late Mk2, I don't suppose it's related to the issues the Mk3's had?: Just a thought. Gaz

Hello & welcome BoA Wait until you see the nonsense some of us type who have it as our native language - you'll fit right in 👍 (if not better!) Gaz
  5. At a guess, I'd say to help out @hkboi : G
  6. On today's roads?? G

Hello and welcome Skodacds Dorset's my favourite County 😎 I could see myself retiring to somewhere around Bridport Gaz
  8. Isn't brake fluid supposed to be at three years for the first one, then every other year? So if your car's a 2022 model, should it not be next year? Gaz
  9. My 2015 vRS 2.0 TSI ran on Momentum 99 pretty much exclusively. I've read lots of people saying they don't notice a difference if they run on 95. While my vRS certainly ran okay on 95, I certainly felt it ran better on 99, particularly when giving it the beans. Gaz
  10. Hello Roger My previous car was an Octavia Estate, albeit a petrol vRS. A very versatile car 👍 Mileage has never bothered me. Service history and overall condition are far more important IMO. I'd far rather buy a high mileage car that's been well looked after, than a low mileage car that hasn't. Gaz
  11. The Sprint Yellow vRS was the first brand new car I'd ever bought. When I saw it had goo rather than a spare, I asked for a spare instead. I got a lot of rhetoric and regurgitated comments, that they couldn't just swap a spare, that goo was the way forward.... blah blah blah and all of it nonsense. I called off the sale as it was a deal breaker for me, and about two minutes later the vRS magically had a spare and all the gubbins to go with it 🙄 They do come up for sale on here from time to time, but there's always some to choose from on well known auction websites 19" - probably best to check on will they fit: https://www.willtheyfit.com to be on the safe side. G
  12. I had to use the space saver on the 220 TSI vRS I had back in 2018. Looking at a photo, I can just make out it was an 18" rim: You can just make out the calliper being quite close to the rim. Gaz
  13. Why not get a soundbar? My QM4 is connected to the TV via the optical link: https://www.whathifi.com/q-acoustics/media-4/review Hearing impaired F-i-L said it was easy to hear. Does your Dad wear hearing aids? - the other option would be a hearing loop to connect his aids to via the 'T' setting. Gaz
  14. I was trying really hard to get my MPG up to 33 as well, but sadly ran out of both time and miles 😢 G
  15. The weather outside is absolutely foul, but my dedication to sad gittery prevailed: Gaz 😁
  16. Hello damong Welcome to Brisky. I can't really help with the wiper issue (although I'd suspect a fuse, relay (as you have) or the multi-column switch), but I'll ask a mod to move this to the Octavia 2 fora, where you're likely to get more informed replies. Gaz
  17. I bet Rob could jump the lights too - looks plenty wide enough! 😇
  18. Agree with @nta16 https://www.caffynscarparts.com/fabia-iii-anita-black-16-alloy-wheel-5200-p.asp?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI78SymqSjhAMV0T8GAB1EDwypEAQYBSABEgJqdPD_BwE Gaz
  19. Technically the offside rear parking brake might be working excessively well, and providing a high level of support and encouragement to the aspirations of the OSR Service brake 👍 Did you explain to 'em that you'd had the hole at the rear of the exhaust moved up front? G
  20. Gaz replied to michleb's topic in Hellos and Goodbyes
Hello michleb Good looking Mk3 there 👍😎 Gaz
