  1. Had you gone for a 1.6TDI, the car would have a DQ200, which is a seven speed dry clutch DSG. As your car is from 2014, I'd have advised you to search this site, and others, to do some homework around the fair share of failures this particular DSG experienced, and to make sure any 'quiet' service campaign work (34h5 & 34F7 IIRC) has been completed. One of which being changing the synthetic oil to a mineral based oil, which appeared to address some of the early DSG and mechatronic failures. As it is, having a 2.0TDI, you have the DQ250 six speed wet clutch unit, which is considered to be a far more robust unit, and will undoubtedly serve you well. I have both DSG's. A DQ200 in the Polo, and a DQ250 in the Golf. Both good boxes, it's just the earlier DQ200's had some failures. If you're interested, use the search facility on here - there reading aplenty on it, e.g.: Gaz
  2. Good ho - got the DQ250 rather than the DQ200 DSG then Gaz
  3. Greetings Scott Which diesel have you gone for? Gaz
  4. Blimey, it's been six and a half years since I let the Superb go 😲 (I was looking for the date I picked up the vRS and thought I'd find it in here). It doesn't appear to be taxed or insured, so I presume the worst 🥲 Gaz
  5. Hello Tarbinho I had an Octavia estate, which was a good size, but a Superb really takes you up a notch, into the plutocracy. Gaz
  6. Isn't that the part number on the clip in your top photo?: Gaz
  7. Hello Ahsan I popped up to Newcastle just to see the Angel of the North in person. You've got some stunning scenery on your doorstep 😎 Gaz
  8. Hello and welcome Sue They say you should never look back, but I often wonder how my 2015 vRS is doing, wherever it is. It was fantastic for space in the boot, which is certainly something I do miss. Gaz
  9. Hello JWP Gaz
  10. Like Root, I'd want to know what it does, and perhaps more importantly doesn't, cover. Is it fully comprehensive whatever-happens-to-your-tyres-or-wheels irrespective cover? Or is it 'Sorry sir, stone chips and kerb damage are expected 'fair wear and tear' items.... you've exceeded your puncture repair allocation...., no sir, we don't think that's vandalism, it an 'act of god' exclusion item' type of insurance? Caveat emptor IMO. Gaz
  11. Quite a few threads on this. E.g.: Gaz

  16. Hello Michael Dorset's my favourite County - it's our regular escape, usually Bridport area 😎 I can see myself retiring there. Gaz
  17. JKM at Portsmouth seem to know their onions, and we've had a few rolling road meets there. They did the Revo Stage 1 on my vRS. Gaz
  18. Good evening Captain, welcome aboard Gaz
  19. Fab what a nice bit of sunshine can do for the soul. From a gentle ten mile ride this afternoon (gentle because my tyre noise changed in the shady areas and I realised I was on frost, some of it icy underneath): The Alsatian's a local dog I see lots. He's happy as larry as long as he's got a stick. Camera's not too bad on the new phone. Gaz
  20. An unexpected visitor just now. I think s/he must've been hiding, but got warmed by a sunny day behind the glass. It's a beautiful clear Winter's day outside, and has just made it to the dizzy echelons of 3C. Let it out the window as it was going to damage itself fluttering against the glass and blind: Gaz
  21. Hello & welcome Roberto We drove down your way for a holiday just before the first lockdown, staying around Madonna di Campiglio, Salo, Bergamo, Lonato. Beautiful area 😎 Gaz
  22. My trust SE decided to retire it's battery recently. It was okay for a couple of days, unless you used it, in which case it bombed and once it dropped to 50%, then that was game over. In the post today arrived its replacement. Quite scary how quickly and seamlessly everything transferred over from old to the new. I think I should get it a protective case. I can do all the research online as to the 'best' case, but I'd be interested in any personal recommendations. Everything from don't bother, to best ever, and in between. The only thing I'm not really interested in is silicon. TIA for any comments or advice. Gaz
