  1. Try a VAG specialist in that case or a different Skoda dealer. Skoda dealers are trying to discourage any kind of servicing on MK3's....it sux.
  2. These values are calculated valves. Its all worked on based on pressures, exhaust emissions, time running etc etc. Firstly, get a good tank of Super Diesel (I recommend some Shell V-Power Diesel) into your car and go for an Italian Tune-up - get the car's engine REALLY nice and hot (get those revs higher) and when you feel a re-gen coming in, let it complete...DO NOT SWITCH OFF THE ENGINE. If a Re-gen doesn't happen, you will need to get an ODBEleven or VCDS system and force the car to do a FULL REGEN on a nice hot engine. Hopefully the calculated amount of ash and soot will reduce. If this doesn't happen, you might need to get the DPF cleaned out and then once that is done, reset the calculated valves. Personally recommend hydra international DPB100 Cetane booster if you run the car on low grade diesel to help keep the DPF, EGR and injectors clean (it works for me), but I will ignite another flame war....
  3. Okay - so Component Protection is there to stop MIB systems from being stolen. You need to take a copy of your receipt of sale for the MIB2 system and some formal ID (Passport/Driving License) to your Skoda Dealer - who will charge you an hour's labour and remove CP. It cannot be done anywhere else. If CP is active, most of the MIB2 functions will stop working - and that probably includes the reversing camera.
  4. I think you may have misunderstood me. If coolant drips on to the belt, it would cause it to stretch/slacken. It might be dry now, but generally you would need a new belt. Tail-tail signs are staining on the top side of the belt.
  5. I think that if you can get the car up on a ramp, you should be able to see the sensors - its fiddly without removing the bumper, but achieveable.
  6. All depends on what you are trying to achieve and what your driving style and journeys are like. Different engine / equipment options dependant on all those factors. Most of the 'kangarooing' is mainly down to software needing to be patched and the vehicles that aren't serviced or maintained properly (probably through low oil etc). Make sure that your vehicle you select has a good service history from Skoda or VAG specialist.
  7. Yes, they generally slack when they have coolant dripped all over them; usually from a leaking water pump.
  8. I would be looking at whether the back window needs resealing - or whether the drain holes in the boot are blocked. This has already been covered and its worth looking at this posting:
  9. It all really depends on what has happened to the engine. That noise could be a dropped valve, a loss of an injector - or the crank has suffered failure. I agree it sounds horrendous, but as a first port of call, a scan needs to be done to the car and some proper diagnosis. I think its important to figure out what you'll budget will be. Replacement engines can be sourced, but is the cost more/less that the vehicle is worth? The death knell will be if the car has either suffered oil starvation / poor maintainace, spune a journal bearing and its ended up scoring the cylinder or a valve has failed and has scored the cylinder lining. 5E is refering the fact this is a MK3 Octavia. You get 5E5 for hatchback/limosine or 5E9 for estate/combi. You are based in Scotland (according to your profile); I suggest that you find a good VAG specialist garage to get to the bottom of the problem. My personal recommendation is Autohaus in Edinburgh who are fantastic.
  10. IF you have a earlier MIB2 Bolaro unit, then yes.
  11. This forum is mainly an English language forum; however, for the folks won't don't speak Hungarian: 2016 Skoda Octavia 3. CXXB engine code. I tried to read the injection quantity, but I can't find it anywhere in the VCDS 25.3 program. Does anyone know where I could look it up?
  12. (for the OP, take a look in the coding modifications at the top of this section of this forum (Octavia Mk3) you should find what you are looking for)
  13. I would recommend put in some Ad-Blu cleaner into your systems next time you fill up your car. I've used Wynn's Crystal Clean & Protect Car AdBlue Preventative Crystallisation Cleaner Additive to keep my system working as well as it can do.
  14. I usually get shot down in flames if I start mentioning additives in fuel; so best play safe and stick with Super Unleaded 97 RON for now.
  15. sounds like potential excessive carbon build-up in that case. I would recommend taking the car on a spirited long run; let the VPower do its stuff with cleaning EGR, valves etc. Don't be afraid to use all the ponies at your disposal. You need lots of heat in the engine to let the detergent really clean up the combusion chamber etc.
  16. Whilst you are there, can you confirm whether the silica teabag is removed or not? If you have a single skinned coolant header tank, remove it as it will split on you otherwise. Skoda recommend coolant change every 5 years, so I recommend you get this done.
  17. I think you probably answered your own question. The MIB system is more than just a nice looking radio - it controls a load of other functions. What you need is an upgrade on your MIB1 system to an MIB2 system. The Android Auto head units are fine, but they mean you cannot access a whole load of car functions now. Please speak with @pab567 who can tell you the process for getting a proper MIB2 system for your car.
  18. Somebody at your skoda dealer is gaslighting you. First things first, have a look at the DSG gear selector sensor. This is a well known problem; a quick google will show you that sensors can get dirty as well as fail. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T28cSO8IoN8 shows you that it is a relatively easy fix. The replacement sensors are cheap (less than £100). I suspect that once youve replace the sensor, your issue will go away. The mechatronics unit will need investigation if that doesn't fix it. We also need a proper scan via VCDS/ODBEleven. I suggest you find a good local VAG specialist in your area.
  19. Not going to be possible I'm afraid. The maximum size of spare wheel is 18" - 19's won't fit.
  20. There seem to be three reported errors: The transmission seems to occassionally think you haven't started the car in Park. If you start it in Neutral, try to get into the habit of starting in Park. The only other issues are: 1) The Heated Steering wheel is complaining that its tempertature sensor is faulty. Suspect that either the sensor or the steering wheel heating element is faulty. 2) There is a management issue with the low voltage electrics. The car's strategy is sometimes struggling with the energy management requirements - this is most often caused by a failing battery. If you haven't done already, please do a CCA test on the battery and if the capacity of the battery in low, replace the battery.
  21. I don't think you will get many people on here saying anything other than - its an oil leak - get it fixed. The lifeblood of your engine leaking out is never a good thing.
  22. That's easy. If you go into Profiles, you will find that the individual keys fobs are configured differently. One opens up all doors, one only opens up the front door.... So - take the key that only opens up the front door, unlock it, get in - go to the MIB system, and go to Vehicle, settings, keys and fobs and set it to unlock ALL doors. Problem solved.
  23. There are subtitle differences. The main is whether your car has GPF or not.
  24. Not really recommended; it might work, but there is no guarantee. The ECM might be expecting certain revisions of modules. Putting in an earlier on might be a deal breaker and cause problems. Suggest that you stick with part number 06K145725T on your replacement.
