KPH/MPH
@neonplanet40 good to hear they are rolling out the fix but frustrating it’s not right yet! Mine has the same rear seat ghost play with the lights since they fixed the kph/mph issues. The SatNav not working sounds like a workmanship problem to me. whilst mine was off the road for [a mere 5 months] I had the pleasure of an excellent loan car with full warranty etc so don’t feel I’ve missed out on that score. As for compensation etc, worth asking the question of Škoda UK. You never know …

Recalled Again - software
To answer your question - I don’t know. It was purely speculation on my part hence the “… [former?] …” in my earlier post.

Turning auto door lock off
Now, wouldn't it be nice if it showed up in the settings by default, just like it did in my '14 plate Superb II. Probably what is called progress 🙄

ACC Braking when overtaking
Yes, that is indeed tedious, especially if it is every vehicle you overtake. Thankfully mine is now OK after the KPH/MPH fix I had in early September; yesterday drove 250+ miles on dual-carriageways and motorways with no issues whatsoever. Hopefully they can sort everyone else's very soon!

ACC Braking when overtaking
Pretty sure a quick tap on the throttle pedal overrides the ACC non-undertake/overtake function. Seem to recall doing it in mine the other week; haven't had cause to do so recently.

MHEV brake pedal sinking 30-0kmph
I drove an E-TEC for about 8500 miles during the spring/summer. I never got to work out what the regen-cum-energy recovery was doing when decelerating and under braking. Sometimes the brakes felt ‘normal’ whilst at others the car seemed to decelerate more than I expected given my brake pedal pressure. Then again, at times the pedal felt a bit softer than I’d expect whilst braking was fine. This car was also the first car with a DSG ‘box that I had driven so some of my learning about decelerating the car was to do with the engine braking in a DSG, along with the e-Tec regen braking. Having said, I was always felt in control and I could control the decelration; its just the car worked differently to a normal internal combustion engine and a manual ‘box. The brake pedal also lowers itself when the speed limiter kicks in and brakes the car; I wasn’t expecting that, and its the same on my own manual ‘box car. Seems weird that the pedal isn’t where I expect it to be!

Software
@PoloPaul Short answer is Yes. The primary fault was the KPH/MPH issue (couldn’t display KPH for speed and SatNav that could only display distances in Km) - that has been fixed. There is a long thread dedicated that issue. Other than that, sometimes the ACC would prevent overtaking; that is now fixed too (or at least I hasn’t re-occurred since and I use ACC a lot). Since the fix, the car then had the intermittent SOS fault on a few occasions. Was the SOS fault caused by the fix? I don’t know! Prior to the car being taken off the road I had only driven about 1000 miles so it may have been there just not manifest itself. A day at the dealer for a software update fixed the SOS too (so for anyway!). I’ve done just over 3000 miles since the fix and, yes, there are a few niggles with the s/ware. These include a ‘ghost’ playing with the rear interior lights after dark and auto-reconnection of CarPlay when starting up is inconsistent. So, after having my car off the road for 20 weeks and the frustrations that come with that, I am really enjoying driving & ownership experience.

Software
Interesting… I had a fix installed in early September! My car was one of two that had been off the road for months selected to trial the fix.

Recalled Again - software
Eight words which perfectly sum up Škoda’s [former?] best selling model. Mine is now basically working OK, but the daily minor niggles persist (such as the ghost in the back seat playing with the interior lights); such a shame.

Can high beam assist be retro fitted to my 2021 Octavia SEL with front camera?
I’ve not bought anything from the shop, but know of someone on this forum who has bought HBA. it’s also online is you login to My Škoda (Škoda Connect) from you computer.

Check in the shop in the infotainment system. It’s available for my 2020 SEL FE, at about £150 (can’t remember exactly).

Did you see this re. the AirCon Sync?

AirCon SYNC and RHD Octy4
It keeps both driver and passenger A/C zones at the same temperature, and I have heard it argued that the dash looks better when the numbers match. Neither of these bother me at all and normally I don't use the sync, I just stumbled across the 'feature' hence I started the thread.

KPH/MPH
I think many of us have had a case logged with Škoda UK which was then managed through their Exec Office. In my case they did a lot of the liaising with the dealer over the diagnostics and supply of new component. Meanwhile I was putting loads of mileage on a loan car. It also seems that some have had more components changed than others, For example, some have a replacement Infotainment unit whereas in May case it was just the virtual cockpit (VC) unit and associated s/ware - the ‘System Information’ hasn’t changed in mine, still on the early 1668 s/w release but since the VC was installed (and a further update for the SOS s/w) all has been working fine. I’ve not experienced the BlueTooth connectivity or PIN issues you mention so can’t comment on those, sorry. It’d be worth you contacting Škoda UK and getting a case raised, push for it to be escalated to the Executive Office - you’ve had the fault for 14 months and you know others have had thier cases escalated so you have a good precedent. Good luck…

AirCon SYNC and RHD Octy4
I stumbled across another LHD/RHD oddity today to do with the Sync setting of the AirCon - a topic I know several folk here have mentioned/complained about Sync not saving from one drive to the next. Well it seems it does, but not in the way I expected it to. For context, I don’t normally use Sync, but as I say stumbled across this by accident so deliberately tried it out. Posting here in case it helps others who like to use Sync more than I normally do. This is what I did… 1st Journey: AicCon Sync set to on Passenger side displays SYNC, Driver side the temperature Set temperature with driver side +/- controls Park up, turn off, exit car, lock car. 2nd Journey Both sides of the display show the same previously set temperature, but not the word SYNC Adjust temperature with passenger side +/- controls - BOTH temperature display change. Adjust temperature with driver side +/- controls - only DRIVER side changed (presumably turned off Sync in the process). Adjust temperature with passenger side +/- controls - only PASSENGER side changed. So, it seems the Sync does save from one trip to the next but not as intuitive (Simply Clever) as one might expect…

Love at first sight.
Sounds like you had a early SEL First Edition which hasn’t yet had the KPH/MPH fix

Ambient light upgrade in the shop
I’ve just remembered a previous thread about the in-car shop - there’s a bit about the colours in there. Take a look through

Reversing & Rear Fog Lights
I can live with one rear fog light (but would prefer two especially when in continental Europe), but am disappointed with one reversing light - especially as the second appears to be physically there. Seems odd not to enable it. It appears there isn’t a fault with my car, but they are configured with one of each.

Rear interior lights slowly getting brighter then dimmer
Yes, it's a manufacturer warranty so any dealer should be able to get the job done. @SkOmk4 Thanks. I like the idea of a back-seat ghost, adds a touch of intrigue to the car. Snag is I find the lights distracting when on unlit country roads so will call the dealer.
-
Rear interior lights slowly getting brighter then dimmer
I’ve noticed the rear interior lights coming on at times; somewhat inconsistent though.

KPH/MPH
The best description I have found is “W-Software update Octavia IV” - which is a bit vague to say the least

Reversing & Rear Fog Lights
Just noticed that my 70 plate SE L FE estate has only one reversing light (on the near side) and one rear fog light (on the drivers side) - but there is space (and what looks like all the LEDs) for both on both sides. I cannot see why they wouldn’t enable them all. Is this ‘normal’ these days or could there be an issue with my lights?

VRS PETROL MPG Competition
@roottoot thanks for that, a useful insight. I only asked because I’m seeing less of a fall off in economy than I expected, based on the last few years of a 1.4tsi Superb II.

VRS PETROL MPG Competition
Are you guys noticing a fall off now the weather is getting colder? Guess it might be more obvious come January or February though
