Feb 2023 VRS - Umbrella or not?
Sounds like you have the one for the door storage vehicles like the Octy and Superb which are larger than the under seat ones.

Feb 2023 VRS - Umbrella or not?
My approved used 2022 vRS had no umbrella as the previous owner had kept it. I mentioned it to the sales chap and he put a new one in ready for collection day. I also then bought an “as new” condition Škoda one for £20 delivered from eBay to put in the passenger door so that there is one either side to use as required.

Rogue cable in boot area.
When you say wave your foot to me that means you are moving your foot side to side under the bumper which is obviously the incorrect motion. You just kick your foot under the bumper in a forward motion.

Rogue cable in boot area.
You have to turn the "Virtual Pedal" (as it's officially called) on via the headunit otherwise you can kick your foot under the rear bumper as much as you like without the boot opening. When i got my (new to me) vRS last month it didn't work so figured mine hadn't got it for some reason or it was faulty then realised it was turned off in the vehicle settings on the HU. Once i turned it on it worked fine.

Octavia iV VRS estate exhaust tips
I was under the impression this style trim is just the “in thing” with car designers over the last few years rather than being to stop melting/damaging the bumper. Take a look at the back end of the Golf GTi and GTD they both have normal exhausts without a fake trim. (Petrol single pipe each side and diesel double pipe one side) and are the same engines as the vRS.

Octavia iV VRS estate exhaust tips
Could the two versions be because the petrol has an exhaust pipe each side (Like the Golf GTi) whereas the diesel has both on the same side (Like the Golf GTD) so one exhaust trim is fake?

Octavia iV VRS estate exhaust tips
The facelift has gloss black exhaust trims. Not a fan myself but possibly they are just the same shape as the current chrome ones so could be a direct swap?

Gloss black exhaust trim
They are gloss black on the facelift...... Not a fan myself much prefer the chrome trims.

Dash cam port C on rear view mirror
Connected it fine although as i don't use it's parked up mode (Forgotten what it's called) I don't think i'll ever see it connected to the home wifi after looking at what it uses the wifi for.

The Time Has Finally Come......
The Superb went to a trader in Birmingham at the beginning of last week after sitting on the drive for a good few weeks..... Sods law one of the rear wheel bearings chucked in the towel whilst it was stood for so long so ended up haggling over the agreed price and getting a bit less than originally thought. Anyway.... Looking at it's details on DVLA today it's now taxed again and has had a new logbook issued so they look to have sold it to someone pretty much straight away. So it's moved to it's third home somewhere in the Birmingham / West Midlands area. (Reg is back to it's normal OW60GKG).

2068282 Digital instrument panel (FPK) - flickering indicator
When it says Octavia IV does it mean mk4 as in roman numerals or just the IV hybrid vehicles? I only as as my petrol vRS has had the fuel and coolant temperature gauges flicker slightly a couple of times when i've been driving at night so will this be down to the same TPI even though mine is a petrol car rather than hybrid?

Guide: Apple iPhone native iOS notifications on BRISKODA - iOS 16.4 and above
Having used this for a while now is it just me or is there no back button? It’s not much of a problem most of the time as you can go back from a thread to the forum it is in with the button at the top of the page but when you have used the search and selected a post from the results you then can’t go back to the search results and instead have to search again. Also been a couple of times when I’ve been looking at an old post via “Content I Follow” and the only way back is to use the “Content I Follow” button at the top and then have to scroll all the way through that section back to where the old content is……. If that makes sense. Also you can’t change the search to only search in the forum section/sub forum you are currently in like you can on the desktop site?

I'm sure i saw someone else say the same thing either on here or Facebook...... Unless it was yourself? But didn't think it was you.

Qi 15w wireless charger
yes it does which is why I’m not sure anyone would need anything more than a 15w charger for an iPhone in a car. Maybe some android phones need more but the iPhone doesn’t.
-
Qi 15w wireless charger
No as I said it was the small electronics module on the lead from the USB plug to the charger itself that got extremely hot…. Not the charger itself. I’ve been using wireless charging on my iPhone for years and know they can get warm whilst charging when under use/heavy load so know exactly what to expect but this wasn’t the charging pad.
-
Qi 15w wireless charger
I was talking about that particular item getting hot not in general when charging in the car. As someone who already has the 15w magsafe charger has already said it keeps the phone from losing any battery charge.
-
Qi 15w wireless charger
The standard Apple MagSafe charger for the iPhone 14 Pro only charges at 15w so not sure why I would need more?
-
Qi 15w wireless charger
I have a 14 Pro rather than 15 Pro Max so should be ok. Plus I’m looking at it just keeping the phone either at the same charge or only slightly charging on longer journeys where the wireless CarPlay tends to drain the phone pretty quickly.
-
Qi 15w wireless charger
That could be an option….. I might give that a try.
-
Qi 15w wireless charger
I like the uncluttered look so don’t want anything attached to vents or dash. The idea of getting a wireless charger that fits in the cubby was the only option I was after other than using the short 25cm cable I have. It’s just a shame the wireless charging pad wasn’t added as standard on the vRS as it is in the GTi and Cupra etc…..
-
Qi 15w wireless charger
The wireless charger mentioned above arrived from Amazon today. Not sure if it’s just because of me having an iPhone 14 Pro with its prominent cameras on the back but once I put the charger in the cubby hole and then put the phone on it nothing happens unless I take the whole thing out put the phone on while I hold the charger flat so it starts charging then place it all back into the cubby hole again. I also found that the “little box section” that is part way along the cable got extremely hot in the few minutes I had the phone charging which was rather worrying. I’ve returned it for full refund and think I’ll just stick with having to plug it in when on long journeys rather than going for the wireless charger.

Qi 15w wireless charger
Well if the LED goes out when the car is not in use then it’s obviously switched live….. I.E. it switches on/off with the car rather than being permanent live. 👍🏼😉 That’ll do for me. 👍🏼

Qi 15w wireless charger
Just ordered this myself..... I have Prime so I get little discount tick boxes when ordering things every so often and this item had one so I got 20% off and paid £15.96 for it delivered tomorrow. Am I right in thinking those 2 USB-C ports are both switched live? I just don't fancy leaving it plugged in all the time if they are going to be powering it constantly in case it ever goes faulty and sets fire to the car etc......

Screen protector?
The screen is meant to be dull rather than shiny.... It's an anti-reflection coating it has on it.
