  1. It could be as the map updates are something like a 25-30gb download. Have you tried setting the eSIM option to on to see if the car then downloads a map update over the following couple of days?
  2. Yes your Infotainment software is very very out of date. It should be at least 1941 but i'm not sure if that would stop the maps from updating. You don't need a data plan to get the map updates they just download via the car's eSim once you subscribe to the Infotainment Online service. (I don't have a data plan either). The data plan is so that you can use the car as a hotspot and people without mobile data can connect to the internet via the car's hotspot and then use the car's p[aid for data to browse etc..... I believe the car's eSim uses the Vodafone network (That's who Cubic backbone off in the UK) so could it be that you live in a Vodafone blackspot so therefore the car isn't downloading the updates? Or it could maybe be a fault with the eSim in the car? Are the rest of your built in apps updating OK like store, pay to park, pay to fuel etc.....? If you open the Skoda App on your phone is the Infotainment Online service showing as active and still in date?
  3. They can't be shown on the cockpit though can they? (Which is the reason I like to use the built in nav).
  4. I'm subscribed to Infotainment Online and can confirm mine is currently 24.5 (May 2024). I subscribed when I got the car in April and this is the second update I've had. (It initially updated to 24.2 when I first subscribed and then to the current 24.5 within the last few weeks).
  5. Looks like you'll be looking for a new driver's seat also. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
  6. I'm not an iV owner myself so don't have these issues in any way but coincidently the Skoda Connect App has an option for when you open the app which says that when enabled it only wakes the car three times in a 24hr period to save battery on the vehicle...... Could this be a a cause of the issues you iV guys are having when using this Octopus Energy app/software maybe?
  7. But his post is to ask where something is in the new app. ๐Ÿค” To answer the original question thoughโ€ฆโ€ฆ I donโ€™t think those functions are available in the new app. I can only assume they werenโ€™t popular functions hence their removal.
  8. Apologies...... I missed that in your post.
  9. I'm proper OCD when it comes to cables on view but why not just use the USB socket on the side of the rear view mirror base? I used a 25cm cable to reach to the camera so there is no coiled cables to hide and as it's all black the cable isn't even noticeable unless you sit and look at it on purpose.
  10. Quick question..... A while ago one of the Skoda apps which gave you info for the car and the user manuals etc..... previously gave you the actual build date of your car as well as the date it was first registered. (From memory it showed my Superb I had at the time had been built in something like the 3rd week of October 2010 and was registered around a month later at the end of November 2010). Is there any way of finding that sort of information out now as the current apps only give you the car's registration date.
  11. Just wondering do the full software updates actually get pushed out OTA as the amount of people who are on very old software versions seems to point to them not getting OTA updates? I just figured if they get pushed OTA to all cars how come so many people seem to have ancient software versions still on the car?
  12. I use NordVPN and no issues connecting to Brisky with it on phone or PC.
  13. Why would you get blocked for connecting via a VPN? Iโ€™m writing this reply while connected to my VPN service via a server in the USA.
  14. iOS version uses the correct units as selected in the user profile..... I've Just checked. Maybe report it as a bug in the Android version of the app so it is more likely to get fixed.
  15. I'm going to be one to buck the trend and say I think the seats in the mk4 vRS are most likely the comfiest I've had in a Skoda. I came from a Mk2 Superb with full electric leather seats. I bought the vRS from the dealership in Eastbourne and drove it back to Sheffield without any pain or discomfort whereas in the Superb I was aching after a couple of hours in the past. The wife has a 2019 Fabia and again I ache after a couple of hours in those seats. Also had a couple of mk1 Fabia vRSs and can't remember them being as comfy either.
  16. You could give it a try with it being a couple of weeks after purchase.
  17. No door seals are classed as wear and tear..... They are only about ยฃ30 or so and can be replaced yourself.
  18. No you misunderstand me Iโ€™m sure I saw another option not the one about connecting wirelessly regarding using the carโ€™s data connectivity and mine was set to off. I still connect my phone to the car via wireless CarPlay and I still show a 5G/4G symbol instead of the WiFi symbol on the CarPlay screen.
  19. That link is from 2021 and is regarding CarPlay issues in iOS14.5.1 and 14.6 Beta not 17.5.1 and 17.6 Beta.
  20. If you have a current unit then it should be replaced by the same current unit...... If your car is older and has an older HW variant it will most likely get a newer current variant fitted as that is what they will be able to order. ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ‘
  21. I've not had this myself. I'm sure I saw a setting in the Infotainment system relating to using the car's data connection and on mine it was turned off. Maybe it has been turned on by accident? Or alternatively which version of iOS are you on? I'm on 17.4.1 but I notice there is 17.5.1 waiting for me when I want to install it so maybe it's a bug introduced by that new iOS if you have installed it?
  22. Mine has the standard system and has still done it that one time last weekend.
  23. Reread the text in the imageโ€ฆ.. It says the battery is low if the red light DOES NOT flash. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜‰
  24. I had this happen last weekendโ€ฆ. Audio just suddenly stopped whilst driving. Tried pulling over and turning off the ignition to no avail but then held the standby button so as to perform a reboot of the Infotainment system and when it rebooted all was working normally again.
  25. What i'm saying though is that the dealer has sourced the wrong umbrella for you..... There are two different umbrellas with different part numbers. One is smaller in length and rounder and designed for cars that store the umbrella under the front passenger seat and the other is longer in length and flatter in shape to match the rectangular shape of the storage area in the door and is for cars that store the umbrella in the front doors. Notice they both have the same Skoda embossed handle but are totally different sizes and shapes to match the area they are stored in. As can be seen by these photos...... The larger one is from my Octavia vRS (stored in the door) and the smaller one is from our Fabia (Stored under the seat). So if you're saying the Skoda umbrella the dealer got for you is too long to fit in the storage area under the passenger seat I would say the dealer has sourced you the one from my Octy rather than the one we have in our Fabia.
