And a final two i grabbed when the conductor on Sheffield 510 was having his break.... Had a dark 50/60s look in my mind when i took the shots and glad with how they have come out.

Crich Tramway Museum
Myself and the Mrs went down to Crich last Saturday for their evening running event. I've been going there for over 40 years since going with school in the juniors and have never yet managed to go on a day when Sheffield Roberts' car 510 has been in service until Saturday. I finally managed to see her out in use and ride on her for the first time. As a bonus we both also got to ride on the very recently restored LCC No.1 car "Bluebird" and had the strange experience of riding on something nearly 100 years old that smelt like it was brand new.

A couple of the shots I got last weekend at the National Tramway Museum in Crich, Derbyshire during an evening running event. I was walking past Sheffield car 510 (The last Sheffield Tram used in 1960) and saw the conductor sat having a break. I knew I had to get the shots and had a gritty dark 1950/60s style in my head..... I think they've both come out well and how I wanted.

Start and stop disable permanently
Had the car since April and this weekend realised that there is a way to manually control the stop/start whilst driving. Apologies if it’s in the manual somewhere but I’ve never seen it or seen it mentioned anywhere on here or in other Facebook Groups. You can control whether the stop/start activates each time by the amount you press on the brake pedal. If you only press lightly on the pedal, enough to keep the car held, the start/stop doesn’t kick in but if you press harder on the pedal it will then kick in. Since realising this I’m pretty much able to stop the stop/start kicking in when I don’t want it to and let it kick in when I do. Again apologies if this is common knowledge and just me that was in the dark about it. 😉😁

Reversing Auto Brake?
It's the "Manoeuvre Assist" which kicks in with the parking sensors. I think it's something they made a point of saying the car had when they removed the Park Assist as standard kit on the likes of the vRS when the COVID chip shortages were about to sort of make up for losing the Park Assist feature. "Used it" myself whilst on holiday last month reversing into a space the lad was gobbing off about something and got slightly distracted and thought i'd hit a post that was behind me and was resigned to getting out of the car and seeing a big dint in the bumper only to realise there was nothing there. It was only then I realised there hadn't been a bang and just a sudden complete stop.

Search/Add new DAB stations?
LOL....... But that's what I'm asking, how do you get it to search for new DAB stations...... I can't find the button to do it. 😉 On other Skoda cars it's on the same screen as the list of current DAB stations (Not favourites just the station list) but I don't have it on my station list on the Infotainment so where is that button or how do you get it to search for new DAB stations?

Search/Add new DAB stations?
I'm not talking about adding them as favourites though I've already done that. I'm talking about when a new DAB station starts broadcasting or when a station changes name etc......... In previous cars you pressed a button to scan the DAB frequencies to search for new or renamed stations. (The same as you would on your DAB radio in your home but it's usually called autotune etc.... on those). So am I right in thinking the Infotainment scans/autotunes the DAB frequencies every time you start the car? So for the example I gave....... In November when Heart Radio add the Heart XMas DAB radio station will the Infotainment automatically add it to the available stations and if not then how do I do it myself as I do in our other car?

Search/Add new DAB stations?
I have a 2022 vRS which i've had a few months now. I've just noticed though that there doesn't seem to be a way that I can find to re-scan for new DAB stations? or add them manually? On my wife's Fabia, (and also on my previous Superb), you press a button on the touchscreen and the HU rescans for DAB stations adding anything that's new or changing anything that's had a name change. It's especially useful before and after Christmas when there are usually a couple of seasonal DAB stations that run over the Christmas period etc..... Am I just missing something or does the infotainment automatically scan the DAB frequencies each time you start the car and therefore not need a button to do it again?

Octavia IV FL Infotainment apps missing
Were the dealership unable to progress it any further in the end as they should have been the quickest way forward for this rather than e-mailing Skoda UK. Each time I've collected a new car I've been given the option of having someone go through operating the HU and what can be done and setup with it. (Either without asking for them to do it but definitely after asking).

Car locked with key inside Beware
I actually tried locking the car with the key still inside and it wouldn't lock so it definitely should be impossible to lock yourself out....... The only thing i can think in the OPs case is that he says he left the keys in the boot rather than in the cockpit around the key storage pocket so maybe the car didn't realise the keys were inside due to them being away from the storage pocket. Also another reason to make sure you have the app setup when you get the car just in case you do leave the keys in the boot etc.....

Pay to park
I installed both Pay to Park and Pay to Fuel but see contradicting info as to whether they work in the UK? I've never managed to get either to work so suspect they are both mainland Europe only?

Octavia IV FL Infotainment apps missing
Do you have a photo of the screen showing what it looks like? Not seen one with an edit button. ***EDIT*** Just realised you have a FL car so it's the new Infotainment screen rather than the existing screen. I take it the Infotainment section of the user manual has been no help in setting up the Infotainment screen? USER MANUAL

Octavia IV FL Infotainment apps missing
You add things to your screen by holding a finger on the screen so that it enters the edit mode. Have you tried that and then adding everything you want….. don’t forget you can keep adding things onto second and third and fourth etc….. screens.

vRS Owners, cars with a VAQ front diff, a question on the servicing and what you are being told at Skoda Main Dealerships?
Apologies for bringing up an old thread...... Has anyone been told / or knows what Skoda's reasoning is for making it a 2 yearly thing when VW themselves and anyone else in the VAG marque have stayed with the 3 year interval? Purely financial or is there some technical background of failures only on the vRS??? Same VAQ Differential but as a vRS owner i'm told it is 2 years but if i'd bought a GTi i would be told 3 yearly...... Even my VAG specialist (VAG ubergeek) says 3 years rather than 2.

Connect services "deactivated"
Sounds like your Connect subscription has come to an end..... You get it for free for a period from new but once the free period finishes you have to pay to keep the various services going.

vRS v GTI v Fermentor v Leon
I looked at the Cupra Leon and Cupra Formentor and the build quality put me off. Leon was very plasticky and rattley and with the Formentor the leather used in the seats is terrible. It’s very soft but really thin nappa leather and it because of this it pulls easily so that you end up with creases and folds on the bolsters after a very short amount of time. I looked at numerous cars all less than a year old and all had the same issues with folds and creases in the leather and most looked in worst condition than my 13 year old Superb’s leather seats. The seatcupra.net forums were full of posts about it too and Cupra’s standard response is “wear and tear”. When looking at approved used Formentors I even noticed dealerships wouldn’t take photos that showed the seats clearly either so they know it’s a problem. Also with the Formentor the choice is limited power wise you can either have the 1.5 150bhp or the 2.0 300bhp and that’s it….. there’s no nothing inbeteeen. (At least in the UK).

Dashcams
No nothing special only thing I'd suggest is to get a cable that has a right angle plug at least at the socket end and possibly the camera end too if required. I went for a 30cm cable with right angle plugs at each end for mine as can be seen in the pics earlier in this thread.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
His info says he has a 2022 vRS and as the vRS facelift has only just been made available to order for a week i don't think it is a facelift car he has.
