  1. Have a look at this thread. Third post gives part number and applicability https://www.partsinmotion.co.uk/car-parts/transmission/propshaft/febi-propshaft-flexible-joint-40931-detail
  2. Hi John. Not a trivial matter at all given your son's situation. Certainly older Kodiaqs had pale roof linings apart from the vrs and possibly sportline (our SE is pale) but I'm not sure about the newer ones. I'll keep an eye out though. Having said that I think the cars with dark roof linings also have dark pillar trims around the windows so if you can see what colour the pillars are the roof lining will be the same
  3. If you mean the rubber doughnut on the propshaft just in front of the rear differential then replacements can be had for around £100. Your quote will be high if from a dealer as they don't sell or supply just the rubber coupling but instead only sell or supply a whole propshaft that includes the coupling
  4. Good stuff. I got the wing fixed on the swift the other week about a year after someone caught it in a car park and drove off. The guy who did it has done a great job... Dent pulled, wing and bumper skimmed and three pack painted (pearlescent metallic). The only way you can tell is some dust in the door jamb that'll wash out... It's amazing what someone who has the skills can do! And the best bit was the cost was about a quarter of another quote I got.
  5. So is the takeaway from this and your other posts that EV owners can be a pretty selfish bunch at times? As that's the impression (or at least some of them...)
  6. That's supply and demand for you - lots of demand but no supply so high prices
  7. Where did I suggest they sold the old car for more? Nowhere! I was just confirming whether the OP got the full value of their refund .. as some dealers might have accidentally 'forgotten' the trade in value of the old car.
  8. Just out of interest did the refund include the value of the trade in and if so was that what they gave you or what they sold it for? I still reckon they have a responsibility to put things right and find you a replacement...
  9. That's a shame but I have to say I'd be arguing that finding a replacement is their issue not yours as clearly they have been trying to sell a vehicle in the UK that technically is illegal to use in the UK as it has no certificate of conformity. You've purchased in good faith and they've ballsed up so it should be up to them to sort it out by finding you another similar vehicle and, as they have now sold your old car at auction, providing you with a curtesy car until such time as theyhave done so.
  10. I may be wrong but from memory of a long time ago doesn't the bottom back of the glove box need to slot into a support first and then you lift it and push back to locate the top and then put the screws in
  11. I agree with you there - the front of the current Octy is by far the worst aspect - it's far too 'droopy'... Mind you if they can't sort the tech issues there's little point sorting the looks!
  12. Re the mkii the 1.9 4x4 was 105bhp but the 2.0 4x4 and scout were 140bhp... The 2.0 pd was an 8v like the 1.9 but had a dpf which the 1.9didnt so that's something to be aware of, although they can be removed and mapped out to about 185bhp on a stage 1. Running costs will be slightly higher due to fuel consumption and additional costs of haldex servicing etc. If you do go for one check for vibration and droning in top at about 2300rpm which will be the 4ear propshaft doughnut on its way out.
  13. Personally I never liked the fiesta after the Mk2. My mum had a 1990 mk3 1.1 LX from new and it was a bit of a boat, under powered with a wheezy engine and not a patch on the 1991 1.5 GLX Mitsubishi Colt that I bought new for the same money a year later. In fact my dad was so impressed with the colt he bought a Lancer a couple of years later that was effectively a bigger colt with a larger liftback. I then had a mk4 diesel for work and the interior was naff and you needed ear defenders to drive it on the motorway it was that loud inside... You got out after a long journey with your ears ringing. As for the latest mk 6 and mk7s they had a horrible interior and very poor rear visibility so we're, in my view inherently dangerous with far better options out there from other manufacturers... And that's before you even get into the 1.0 ecoboost lack of reliability.
  14. If it were me I'd clean them up and run sealant round them and under the lip
  15. Thought you might have given the wheels a quick clean up and spray before getting the tyres fitted but looks like you didn't have time. Looking good though.
  16. That looks very much like the battery has had it
  17. It looked to have been a professional steal... But recovered after a few hours, along with those who took it!
  18. Just on the subject of trackers South Yorkshire police reported recerntly that they had located and recovered a stolen BMW as the owner had left an Apple Airtag in it...
  19. Is the lever you mention actually a push button? I seem to recall something similar on a Fiesta years ago where you had to press a locking button before the crank would turn.
  20. Absolute cracking find and it looks like it'll come up well...
  21. Some cracking cars and photos there
  22. Might be worth checking the mounting plates / ball fittings for the tailgate struts as they have been known to leak through the mounting screws on other cars
  23. So will the manual choke
  24. Ouch... A our 50bhp then... Still a cracking find though, pretty robust and at 37k only just run in
  25. Wow that's an amazing find! Takes me back to the early 90s when my mate had an impreza (non turbo sport but still a cracking car at the time) Presumably 1.2 fwd given no button on the gearstick?
