  1. But yo say yhis and yet your posts indicate you are a part of this as much as the 'well off' and 'conservatives' are. Its quite stunning that you cannot see this and the hipocritical nature of your posts.
  2. 20 is definitely a record... Its usually about 3 before he spouts off about putting cash into his pension to avoid paying tax, or how much he earns, or his little solar generator and battery, or something to do with politics 🤣
  3. Glad it sorted George... We had similar last year as I my previous insurer had, for some reason onlu known to them, entered a non fault accident on the CUE database twice! Like you it took a bit of sorting out but I eventually got written confirmation just in case of future issues.
  4. Most of the OP comments seem to be dealer related... as opposed to car? However, the start button is a common fault and an easy fix as it simply needs a new button fitting which is quick and easy - so not sure why the dealer hasn't done that yet (again dodgy dealer?)
  5. Given your comments it might be worth naming and shaming to avid others having a similar experience?
  6. I remember thrashing one of those around an airfield a long time ago! the place I was at also had an 8v that was torquier and would pull away slightly out of corners but was then caught by the 16v on the straights. After razzing both I had a go in an Ferrari Mondial that had a pig of a gearbox so was glad to get back in my MX5 for the drive home!
  7. Yep I'm pretty sure Ben from Shark is now at Racing line. We had our mkii Octavia 4x4 sorted by Shark and had no issues over about 80k miles

UK ENGINE COVER GROMMET CLIP CONNECTOR FOR VW AUDI SKODA SEAT 07C103226 | eBay Any good? I agree but had to source some for our Octavia a while back and it took me some time to work out what they were called too!

do you mean the cone shaped attachment grommets? Genuine 03G103184C VW Engine Cover Grommet, Set of 10 : Amazon.co.uk: Automotive
  10. I don't know for definite but would suggest yes as that will be the gap the system voltage etc. can cope with.
  11. Just space for a spare wheel. You might get a small tank in side the dish of the wheel, or alternatively ditch the spare, carry a repair kit and pump in one of the side cubbys and get a tank the size and shape of the wheel well. One thing to remember though is that the 2.0 pd tdi 4x4 had a dpf so you'd have to get a 1.9...
  12. It takes up some boot space as the floor is slightly raised compared to a non 4x4 so you can't have the variable boot floor but there is still a spare wheel well which on ours took a full size spare.
  13. Isn't that just the gap as supplied from the factory though... Which may not be the gap your car needs. If it were me I would gap them at the prescribed 0.8mm for the car. Other than that they look fine.
  14. Did you gap the electrodes correctly to 0.8mm before fitting as those gaps look pretty big in the photos which would cause issues
  15. Having seen some of the issues with the mk4 Octavia I wouldn't go near one with a barge pole and would stick with the superb
  16. Oh dear... please don't patronize me or assume I'm stupid... Take a look at the picture you posted and you'll see a small balancing drill hole on the outer steel ring... The part is balanced during manufacture, as is the rest of the prop prior to assembly. By all means get the prop off the part replaced and balanced and then refit it but you'll be wasting time and money. I'll not offer you any further advice on this as I think I'm done here... Blackbull... Good luck getting yours sorted!
  17. Possibly but Audi will sell you the doughnut alone... Which kind of blows the balancing theory out of the water... The individual parts should be balanced themselves anyhow. Having said that when I was researching mine the general concensus was fit and drive and if the new one was found to make a noise loosen one side and rotate one bolt hole then try again. But yes they are both prone to wear although it's the rear that generally causes the droning issue. The front is a slightly different design and tends to be better protected so lasts longer. The indy I spoke to had done a few A3s replacing just the rear unit with success.
  18. Yes that's the one at the rear. There is a slightly different one at the front. Cheapest for the rear is febi at about £100 but if you ask Skoda they will only sell you the full propshaft including the coupling at well over £700, so search for Audi A3 or A4 parts.
  19. It is the exact same thing...
  20. When we bought our 3yr old kodiaq it had recently been serviced including the hald3x but the dealer was unable to answer my question about whether the haldex gauze filter had been cleaned. It didn't bother me tough as the rest of the car was good and given the low mileage and low cost to do it'll get done at the upcoming service by an independent.
  21. I'm away from my laptop where I have the dimensions but would say no you won't have the length in a Fabia unless you are short and can run the passenger seat a long way forward. You will in a mk2 Octavia though! My neighbour used to in his and he was nigh on 6ft and I recall we got a three seat sofa in ours with the boot shut. If I can dig the detail out when I'm home and have the info to hand I will!
  22. Almost as good as flashy led leve meters in graphic equalisers from the 80s
  23. Cheers Ryan!!... Yes I'm still here from 2002 IIRC Just checked... 2nd December 2002 to be precise but prior to that was on the VWVortex Skoda group for a while before Colin created this breakaway!
  24. If its a 1.4 it doesn't have an engine cover so the cross will mean not checked as not present
  25. Looks like I'll be keeping an eye out for you then if you're in Sheff! There's a fair few appeared round us (south west Sheff) the last few months...
