  1. DMF Ken... dual mass flywheel, not DPF
  2. Why not ask one of our european members to buy it for you and post it over... its got to be cheaper and Brisky member used to offer 'internal mail' services...
  3. Might be worth slotting something behind the seal by the drainage hole to hold the seal away from it and provide a drainage path? The previous model Honda Civics used to suffer a similar issue but due to little one way rubber 'valves' that Honda fitted to the drainage holes. They bunged up leading to water collecting in the doors but the solution was easier as you just took the rubber valves off. and chucked them in the bin.
  4. I don't know if this is correct but have a vague recollection that the pre-drilled holes are covered with tape and then sprayed over with underseal and paint at the factory - si they are probably there, just covered up and need to be found... This thread should help:
  5. with your comment on the ABS and TCS kicking in I'm wondering if it might be an ABS sensor issue? Have you had a code reader on it?
  6. Have you checked the bottom of the door cards to see if the inner door skins are leaking? Also check the plenum under the windscreen wiper motor is clear of debris and not overflowing in rain...
  7. Unfortunately for enthusiasts that does seem to be the direction the mass-market is headed to some degree - and follows on from things like PCP,s where you never actually owning a car only 'rent 'it / battery leasing / car clubs / increased levels of 'driver assistance' and autonomous vehicles... It's simply a fact of life that the majority of people see their cars as a means of getting from A to B in a convenient way and would rather spend time surfing the internet / reading a book etc. than the physical 'enagement' of driving.
  8. An update... since the above post just before Christmas I've had water inside the tailgate and on top of the rubber tailgate gasket (as per the above photos) on maybe two or three occasions. Not much but annoying, enough to cause condensation inside and apparently random, with no real regularity or link to the angle the car is parked at. However, the last time it happened I did notice a run of water up the tailgate glass from very close to the wiper spindle when I opened the boot. I've therefore just gently lifted the edge of the gaiter around the spindle and put some sealant under it. Once this has cured I'll apply some grease to the spindle / rubber itself to hopefully prevent water ingress there. I also looked at the rubber tailgate side strikers again but they seem to have some form of threadlock on them so should already be watertight. So... fingers crossed this time but I hate leaks like this one, as it's a constant chase round trying to find the source!
  9. Oooh - you went for the Blue! I just missed out on one that colour with a silver roof and mirror caps but eventually ended up with the Burning Red and was really pleased with it. Any extras on it or is it just standard? Enjoy!!
  10. They definitely made a huge difference and pretty much made the main beam redundant... the 4x4 had washers and a manual level adjuster and i had no issues with MOTs.
  11. Indeed... our 2007 4x4 ran HIDs for years and never failed an MOT until we moved it on in May 2021. In fact I've still got the kit lying about unused since geting the Kodiaq and keep meaning to advertise it on here in case iis of use to anyone.
  12. You may need to check that the second reversing light is actually present. On my kodiaq it appears to be there but a closer inspection shows it to be a dummy with no LEDs or bulb fitting etc.
  13. May not help but I've fitted Auxito reversing lights to my Swift and they are excellent .. much better than halogen OE and I believe they are canbus monitoring friendly
  14. Ahhh... i see... got to be worth a try for a fiver!
  15. Not used that one but have used similar in older cars and currently have a similar one in my MX5 for the Clarion thats in there (and for the spare thats in tne garage cupboard. Having said that do you actually need one for the Fabia as the OE head unit is actually din sized, albeit with an oversize fascia...
  16. we had a rattle in our Kodaiq from that area at one stage that I thought was the sunglasses holder... turned out something wasn't quite clipped in properly as I gave it all a good push, something clicked and it's not done it since. Might also be worth checking the trim around the rear view mirror mount as well - as that worked loose occasionally on our old Octavia.
  17. I agree with everything you've said @Lady Elanore... Even current 'connected' cars worry me with all the tech and, apart from the driving is another reason why I love my 1995 MK1 MX5. In terms of the media the change is already happening, even in the likes of Car magazine. If it's not a review of the latest lookalike Porsche or latest 'special' 911 they major on pretty much everything bar the actual drive (apart from George Kacher that is). Curtis Moldrich is a case in point .. most of his reviews and dislike for certain cars have been down to the in car multimedia systems and how well, or not, they connect to his beloved iPhone... It's painful to read in a magazine that used to feature wrirs like LJK Setright.
  18. yes it's on it's way out and yes I'd replace both burners at the same time as its likely the other won't be too far off giving up as well.
  19. Is that the lyceum? If so good on you.. weve been going to the panto there every yeat for over a decade but this year didnt manage it
  20. Indeed... Personally I think it's a much better looker than then Enyaq
  21. There will be! Are you browsing the Japanese sites or https://www.ctc-performance.co.uk/
  22. Those cost estimates are the bane of my life... They are often put together at a very early stage for a Business Case by people with little or no technical design experience or skills and usually make no allowance for 'optimism bias' or 'risk' and with little knowledge of underground conditions or services. Schemes then get the go ahead on the basis of those costs and grants are made accordingly but I've seen costs double and treble in the past once done properly, or schemes grossly cut back, downgraded or even canned completely as a result. Or even worse funds being taken from elsewhere to complete them...
  23. Same here... I think it stems from regularly driving older vehicles but has been a habit of mine for donkey's years.
  24. Wow .. what an ignorant post... As an aside, and as someone with good vision and no eye issues I can assure you that led brake lights are uncomfortable for those behind in certain circumstances (I've posted here and asked similar questions about the lights staying on previously). I find them 'blinding' when stuck in traffic, especially when in a low car such as my MX5, and will often block them with a raised hand so I have full vision for when traffic starts moving again.
  25. Some planners have common sense and look at the bigger picture... But the grant comment is valid. There is a lot of active travel funding available at the moment but much is time limited and schemes have to be submitted within strict timelines so are often not fully thought through it assessed otherwise they'd miss the deadlines. Also local authorities are often desperate to get cash from somewhere to keep themselves and staff employed regardless of whether the schemes that result are worthwhile.
